Ex firefighter, here. Threading that needle; that is, backing into the firehouse without damage takes a few practice runs, for sure! I'm loving these videos... thanks for sharing them!
This was fantastic!! IMHO, your finest compilation date! I am in complete awe of those Chauffeurs!! To think, I had problems maneuvering a 15ft camper into a generous campsite! Observation: Holy 💩, 214 and 3 must be in a competition for the fastest homecoming possible! Not .100” room for error. Great shots, great editing…always impressive. ❤️🔥🚒❤️🔥
A really great video! Watching the chauffeurs back those rigs up into the narrow space is awesome. As a kid in the 1940s/1950s, I was fascinated watching the return of Hook & Ladder 168 on 18th Ave in Brooklyn. In those days, there was a tiller operater on the back portion of the rig. The rig would come up 18th Ave toward 86th St and at the right moment the chaauffeur would turn the cab into the left lane while the tiller man would steer the rear half of the rig down the right lane. The rig would be perfectly angled to "thread the needle".
