Fantastic gameplay, this resurgence of OG 3 in the community no matter how small is surely a sign that the PS3 versions will get their due respect eventually
I think the original Yakuza 3 is better than the remastered version from a technical standpoint. It’s a common theme when a 30FPS game is forced to run at 60FPS, it causes a variety of issues that would never happen have the game stayed at 30FPS.
@@waled7rocky QLOC messed it up. Yeah some issues are fixed if you switch to 30 FPS but literally the quickstep is still trash and other issues are still blatant as well
The player used a lot of grabs and counters, which naturally counter blocking. The few times direct frontal attacks were made, the enemies usually blocked. So it's not really a good demonstration that this version has enemies that block less. Even during the boss fight, the player faced away from the boss when doing the square x2, triangle to connect, which works in the remaster as well. If anything, this video demonstrates how to effectively deal with blocking enemies, which can be applied to the remaster too. Great showcase regardless!
yeah i hardly attacked from the front but it is a fact that in the OG version enemies tend to block less. They still block a lot but the OG allows for more opportunities to play around that. I really want to see how the Hakuho Captain is on the OG so i might try to nd him once i get the chance
On Hard you can get away with attacking the goons in the front more than the demastered since they tend to let go off their guards more often, you still needa play like a smart fella but you have more leeway to play like a dumb fella in OG
Very well done! Yakuza 3 is my favourite Yakuza part, so I am always a bit sad to see it trashed because of the combat system. Don't get me wrong, I had fun playing it and could handle myself in combat very well, even with all the blocking (Lau Ka Long was annoying though) , but I can see why people would not be too fond of the combat. At least it's nice to see that it's because of some issues with the remastered version, and all the blocking isn't as prominent in the original. My biggest issue with the combat is not the blocking, but the fact that 90% of the heat actions do such little damage that you get more out of regularely punching your enemy instead of doing a heat move. And 60fps are nice and all, but I take a functioning game at 30fps over a broken game at 60fps any day (As if tuna fishing wasn't hard enough already) Wonder if there are any mods that make the game properly function like the PS3 at 30fps and make the heat moves do more damage, Yakuza 3 was already tons of fun, but that would make it even better
I was very surprised about a number of people whining about "Blockuza 3" and diss the entirety of Yakuza 3 as soon as it came out when they clearly cried for the PS3 era games to be Remastered. But as soon as I play Y3R myself I can say it's harder compared to the OG, but there are ways around the blockings nonetheless. I had a really fun time playing Y3 a couple years ago on PS3. It may be lacking in terms of content due to cultural differences, but yeah, like you said in the description, the combat is smoother than the Remastered.
yeah Yakuza 3 is one of my personal favorites i just call it Blockuza 3 for the jokes bro. Seriously its probably my favorite mainline game. The combat is fire and there are so many ways to play around enemies blocking lol. Glad you feel the same way.

Probably need to check it out, only played the remastered and I thought Kenzan was better when when it came to the AI when I played that.

This version of yakuza 3 makes me coom ong
Flame17K uploaded a new vide-
Oh wow this seems great. I sure hope they made a good pc port
If only people could Make THIS version on PC.
i mean you got emulation but like you need quite a demanding pc for that
I mean you can do all of this on PC, it's just easier on the PS3 version.
You can get the quickstep restoration mod on the nexus too, just follow its instructions with RMM.
Gunk got you
BASEDKUZA 3 OG LET'S GO

Niceeeeeee
People dont know grab, counters, and dodging to the back of enemies are powerful tools in this game.
I hope someone mods the remaster to be good again
Wow that was a nice ass run
Yakuza 3 Restored, anyone?
Does the quickstep mod for the PC make it similar to the OG Yakuza 3. Great performance as always!
Yes and no
The mod makes quickstep actually good but they still play different and I argue that og 3 plays better
@@tacky6045 Time to play Yakuza 3 on RPCS3 😃 Thanks for responding
@@shehzad_ali make sure to pick people up off the ground (it's viable in og)
In my experience the pc mod did nothing. Don’t know if I installed it wrong but I literally noticed no difference😅
I already played that way😑
