Being able to ride a brand new expensive bike that's already been laid down is a dream. No worries about scratches or dings and can ride the wheels off it. More RR content please!
I agree,. Every time I buy a new bike, I tend to tip-toe around. The fact that it's perfect always in the back of my mind. When I fix a damaged bike, Game on!
Chris, I'd say keep it stock and just ride the hell out of it. Would love to see regular updates just with daily use, real world stuff. Hope to catch you at caffeine and machine on my R1 too! 👍
No way Baron! I acquired my 2020 BMW S1000RR in exactly the same way six months ago! The bike had a trackday, took a fall, and found itself in the gravel, but in my case, it was on the left side. The previous owner simply couldn't be bothered to repair the bike. Resulting in significant savings for me, landed the purchase at 3-4K below the average price in the used market (in the Netherlands). The only necessary fix was minor (O-ring leak from the output shaft). only repairs after that were: the rearsets, grips, bar ends and shift lever, alongside the fairing repairs. also kept the little marks on the swing arm and frame. It is only noticeable if you basically look for it. My opinion on what you should do: Keep it and use it. I'm going to do the same. it is a bike that i dreamed of owning. going to "Picos de Europa" Spain in September for my first Europe tour. Can't wait!
I have been earning a living out of this kind of stuff since 2006, it's the best way I know of getting your biking kicks for free. Just fixed an old Triumph Trophy and the only expence was 25 quid to the DVLA for a V5 and it's going to need a new battery. Its drying off next to my MV F4, 996 and 750SS at the moment.
Do another multi-day ride through Spain like the good-ol days. Very fond of those, got me into riding and ended up becoming an instructor and made some great memories along the way.😊
Always a huge fan of your bike videos , finding you last year watching you on this channel and the other fixing bikes and repairing them inspired me . This is my goal start of small old bikes and build up . I have an addiction now and currently working on a 99 tl1000r, a 97 CBR900 , and a 91 zxr750 (barn find never had a UK MOT) only did its first miles then stored and never moved 😮😮😮😮
Totally understand the whole stress free riding thing. I rode a 2000 zx9r for about 10 years come rain or shine and thoroughly enjoyed it as it was already 'used' Now that’s a track bike and I’m on new stuff (Speed Triple 1200 followed by a Speed Twin 1200) and I find myself triple checking the weather for any chance of rain, getting all pissy if I ride through a puddle and losing my head if I find a stone chip anywhere! It’s exhausting, and it means I ride a lot less 😕 Great content as always Baron 👍
The old railway tunnel just east of Meon Hut crossroads.. I used to down shift my 748 there just for the sound. Epic road. The A272 is heaven for cars, bikes and bicycles.
A lucky find Chris, well fixed. As previously said, just ride it for years to come and enjoy it..!! If I’d the spare cash I’d take this off your hands……awesome tool. Stay safe.
Lucky find Chris! I've been looking for one in this condition, to fix up also. I think you just enjoy it, and like you said, its had its trauma already (and you didn't do it!) so just ride it around and enjoy!!!
Yes, just keep it, enjoy it and do plenty of content with it. It's nice to have the same bike for a few years and we can all share your experiences with it.
First Chris, and now you... Seems everyone wants some of the crashed RR action! Can't blame you though, people are scared of bikes like these but if you know what you're doing, they can be awesome. Completely different planet, but I rebuilt a very similarly crashed bike (gen 1 SV) from Pembry. It's a frustrating, but rewarding process.
I, for one, think you should go for that delicious paint scheme, youve nothing to lose. Just like the stress free ride of not worrying about its first drop or anything, you dont need to worry about "ruining" a new bike 🤷🏼♂️
My thought is that this is a great idea for a long term series - ride it this season, commute/track days/touring what have you. And then sell it and find a new project for next season. Rinse, repeat.
I really enjoy watching this sort of content from you Chris, it's so satisfying to watch - can remember the Gen1videos of you riding around ranting and raving on your way to work, not to mention the hp4 rebuild you/Bahnstormer did..!
This is an awesome find, very jealous. Such a beauty, I’d love to find something like this to fix a few things and have her ready to go. I think a few smaller, very typical updates, a slip on, belly pan (the bmw cat bothers me), a tinted window screen, and use the hell out of it like it’s meant to be. Looking forward to seeing more of this, and the 996!
I guess, if you’re in it for a relatively small amount of money and can flip it for a good profit, I couldn’t blame you. But would love to see more videos on it if you don’t.
Good dealership vines of Guildford came down from Yorkshire to them to get a bike as they do price fairly. Good job on the Bike Baron, looks and sounds sweet
Would love to see you keep this bike and do literally everything you mentioned on it. Have had a 23 RR for a few months now so obviously im bias but...
I really like when Baron has a super bike to make content on, so I am in favor of you keeping it! Or selling it and getting a new project superbike! Maybe some travel content this summer?
I think the fix is better than the buzz of keeping it I’d love to repair things and bring them back to former glory and then move to next project but space and money I don’t have enough of unfortunately! But keep it up it’s good content just need more in depth filming which I know isn’t easy
I’m picking up a 2022 S1000RR Saturday I can’t wait but you are very lucky to be in the position to get offers that one might see you at loomies or the other cafe n machine first I’d heard of it might be worth the average speed cameras near by 👍🏻
What a brilliant day and my panties have been wet since morninig when Al published his Suzi-8 review. And to come home to a Chris-BMW-vid ...well it is time for a smoke and coffee. I must say it has been a bit sparse since your BBB Tour but i forgive you since you guys are still smashing it with generally big news. Happy Trails. ps: Still waiting for an Aprilia 457 or 399 Duke ripper.
Have you considered taking the carbon fibre wheel to a specialist for assessment and hopefully repair. I'm not an expert but depending on how the carbon fibre has been damaged, it might look okay but not be safely repairable. Looks like a great project bike.
As we say in Thailand, ''Up to you''. Looks mint and structurally checked by Vines. If it was me, I would sell when I found another project......Projects are good therapy...Cheers
I would like to suggest you ride it down to the first round of BSB at Navarro and after the trip you will know what to do with it. Rory might sign it for you😃

Your bike does look good, the Mrs thinks it looks good too. Just in case you didn't already know,be careful when it's wet on white lines and metal man hole covers, definitely avoid them if possible, certainly treat them with respect, also watch out for gravel too. The way I deal with slow turns is to very slightly put my weight to the outside of the turn, maybe it will work for you and maybe not. I have to be careful on slow turns because my Ducati multistrada 950 is too tall for me and heavy too,I have dropped it once in a slow turn. Any way good luck with your new bike and just be well careful with, one little mistake and you will ruin your bike and be kicking yourself for a costly tiny mistake.

Restomod project? 🤔
Make it look new + exhaust and ECU flash
Put knobbies on it and take it to Arctic circle 👀
I'm only 30 seconds in to the video. I'd get the frame checked to see how straight it is.
