- Bit of a modern bike this time but what a corker! It came along and I have to say, I enjoyed the touch up greatly - turned out nice again!
Thank you all for you continued support here - I know I'm a little sporadic with the videos! ha
Permission to Torque:
p2t.uk/
So the big question is - what to I do with it next!
Restomod project? 🤔
Make it look new + exhaust and ECU flash
Put knobbies on it and take it to Arctic circle 👀
I'm only 30 seconds in to the video. I'd get the frame checked to see how straight it is.
@@Levent_Ergunlolz
Fix it and sell it on as mint condition never dropped😂....seriously just keep it as track weapon I guess
Being able to ride a brand new expensive bike that's already been laid down is a dream. No worries about scratches or dings and can ride the wheels off it. More RR content please!
Usually it's more like you find scratches and bent stuff in the weirdest possibile places and ask yourself wtf happened
'Laid down'. Sounds so civilised..😏
I agree,. Every time I buy a new bike, I tend to tip-toe around. The fact that it's perfect always in the back of my mind. When I fix a damaged bike, Game on!
Take the panels to tony at probike custom paints ,, he’s between guildford and dorking
Chris, I'd say keep it stock and just ride the hell out of it. Would love to see regular updates just with daily use, real world stuff. Hope to catch you at caffeine and machine on my R1 too! 👍
I have been earning a living out of this kind of stuff since 2006, it's the best way I know of getting your biking kicks for free. Just fixed an old Triumph Trophy and the only expence was 25 quid to the DVLA for a V5 and it's going to need a new battery. Its drying off next to my MV F4, 996 and 750SS at the moment.
Anodized blue rear sets?? Get ya rat out chrissy 😂
Unfortunately they're not rat, they're a rather expensive BMW M Sport add on. One born every minute 😅
@@gerardmontgomery280 I think it was a joke. One born every minute indeed.
Whoosh @@gerardmontgomery280
it was a joke 😂, but thank you for defending his Honor, and just because something is expensive doesn't make it good @@gerardmontgomery280
The old railway tunnel just east of Meon Hut crossroads.. I used to down shift my 748 there just for the sound. Epic road. The A272 is heaven for cars, bikes and bicycles.
Would love to see you keep this bike and do literally everything you mentioned on it. Have had a 23 RR for a few months now so obviously im bias but...
I say enjoy it until it doesn't do it for you. you can always break even or close on a well priced bike and as they say in Germany, Das Good!
Your bike does look good, the Mrs thinks it looks good too. Just in case you didn't already know,be careful when it's wet on white lines and metal man hole covers, definitely avoid them if possible, certainly treat them with respect, also watch out for gravel too. The way I deal with slow turns is to very slightly put my weight to the outside of the turn, maybe it will work for you and maybe not. I have to be careful on slow turns because my Ducati multistrada 950 is too tall for me and heavy too,I have dropped it once in a slow turn. Any way good luck with your new bike and just be well careful with, one little mistake and you will ruin your bike and be kicking yourself for a costly tiny mistake.
by far the quickest build series
You should do a touring S1000RR, put some bags on I, off-road tyres, touring Europe, think outside the box. I would watch the hell out of Sporty Adventure Dad
Ideal track bike, relatively cheap for a modern super bike, no worries about it going down again.
So lovely to see a project from start to finish in a video rather than slowly lowering a pork pie into my mouth and spitting out the jelly
I’m picking up a 2022 S1000RR Saturday I can’t wait but you are very lucky to be in the position to get offers that one might see you at loomies or the other cafe n machine first I’d heard of it might be worth the average speed cameras near by 👍🏻
How you pick up a perfect spanking S1000RR just because the opportunity arises makes me happy :D
Always good to see your face dad.
Keep it, ride it, love it. 👊😎
You are living "the dream" my friend
Absolutely stunning machine! 😎
Give us a garage update please sir...Ducati, GSXR, BMW'S and please ride them all for us and make a few videos like the old days.
As we say in Thailand, ''Up to you''. Looks mint and structurally checked by Vines.
If it was me, I would sell when I found another project......Projects are good therapy...Cheers
Great news on Caffeine & Machine at Meon Hut. On the bike Chris, I dunno! Maybe keep it and ride the b’jeezus out of it, but depends on whether you have time to vs your other bikes, projects etc.
Great video and I think you should keep the bike and enjoy it.
Amazing stuff as usual Chris. If you're not attached to the RR, I think maybe set a raffle thingy up to all of your subscribers at £2 a pop. Might be a nice investment 😜
Make a banging balls to the wall track bike.
OR
Do the SBK tourer thingy
Either way, pls get that bren flash for it.
Great story, as always! When is there going to be a story on that beautiful 999?
BVG & 44T video in one evening. Yes thank you!
I'm a Ducati fanboy for life, but damn she's beautiful!
You could start with divulging the purchase price for us to make a recommendation on what to do with it , as it makes a big difference 😉
Criminal that it was considered written off as it’s just cosmetic.
Stick a full system on it and though and let’s see what she makes!
Im surprised the front winglets havent broken off. Must be a lot tougher than i thought they were
What a cool kid! Nutty just like his Dad :)
She’s a keeper mate 👍
Whiteout pen & go. ps keep it is to nice to sell. i love that color scheme.
Seems like a great replacement for the GSXR. Seems like it would be great for filtering videos.
I vote keep it.
Maybe ride it to bmw HQ and do a factory tour and ride their test track?
Ello Mr Grumble, what screen would you advise for road riding the S1000RR? No track days
Looks MINT. Guessing you did this over the winter.
I'd keep it stock, maybe a nice exhaust and ride it like hell.
Time to return to the green lanes
keepit!! change color yea
Seems a shame not to have replaced the front brake lever
Was the engine still running while she was lying on her side?.....Doesn't take long!!!
A win win I reckon Baron 👍🏻
I'd like to see a video on that 999
Keep + ride for sure
hello baron von grumble hope u good m8 👍great video fixing the nice bike :)
Who's the Lucky Barstard, congrats bro
Not sure about the rim stickers tho
Would like the price breakdown
Why would the previous owner bail on it, did they just have more money than sense ?
Whens the little man getting a bike or does he already have?
Eyyyyy. Surprise baron content.
Surprise Surprise!
Hi long time no see hope you are doing well .
Make it your own , enjoy it
Keep it. Rag it. Love it.
At a good price I would have bought that instantly. Only cosmetic!!! Great, Well done
16:49 is that one of those new noise cameras?!
Adventure Europe time on a superbike 😊👍
Keep it as a daily.
Go on an adventure with it!! 😀
Ride it to Spain like you did with the Gixer just don’t take it down a green lane
Give the lad some more airtime
Bank it and go again.
It's a good basis for channel content.
Bren Tune! And more carbon!
Not necessary on a European model, there's no power flat spot on these.
Keep it as it’s a beautiful bike, maybe sell off some others that you have.
Keep it
This thing is way cooler then the 44tooth r1!
Current tech for 10yr old money. Doesn't get better in biking than that.
What was the price you got it for?
What should you do with it?
As my Dad would say, "Oompah, oompah, stick up ya jumper"
I thought you said you would say how much it cost you? People want to know a break down of how much the bike cost. Parts to fix and a total would be worth while knowing 🤨
Alright! Great video!
Bye!
It'd be good to hear how much you saved buying the bike and what it cost for the odds & sods to put it right @BaronVonGrumble
kust keep it. ride until wheels fall off.
you can get a RR for 19-23k in the UK ? here in austria those things cost 30k WTF
... But how much did you get it for? =]
Its win win I will say Chris
as far as I'm concerned the faults and flaws are a sign of character. Just ride the snot out of it.
Did he say how much he paid for it? Did i miss it?
So if it’s not an insurance write off, did the guy px it in for a new one and you bought it a trade in price
How much did he pay for it?
No way Baron! I acquired my 2020 BMW S1000RR in exactly the same way six months ago!
The bike had a trackday, took a fall, and found itself in the gravel, but in my case, it was on the left side. The previous owner simply couldn't be bothered to repair the bike. Resulting in significant savings for me, landed the purchase at 3-4K below the average price in the used market (in the Netherlands). The only necessary fix was minor (O-ring leak from the output shaft). only repairs after that were: the rearsets, grips, bar ends and shift lever, alongside the fairing repairs. also kept the little marks on the swing arm and frame. It is only noticeable if you basically look for it.
My opinion on what you should do:
Keep it and use it. I'm going to do the same. it is a bike that i dreamed of owning. going to "Picos de Europa" Spain in September for my first Europe tour. Can't wait!
Baron. Any new video from this channel is and will always be VERY well received.
Yep spot on sir
0:48 Definitely the son of the father... 🤣
Whew, I was worried he was just a random kid he collected off the street 😂.
I can just imagine him in 20 years time wearing a wig, a glittery suit and fake glasses and reading this weeks bike news.....
Answers everything the big poof VBG says he isn’t going to say ha ha ha ha ha ha love it
Do another multi-day ride through Spain like the good-ol days. Very fond of those, got me into riding and ended up becoming an instructor and made some great memories along the way.😊
What happened to the long term project S1000RR you got then featured in a 44T video
"S 1000 RR | Slip-On Exhaust Dyno Gains" 17 July 2021 💀💀💀
Keep it. Then do the The Transfagarasan Highway. Nice long 10 part video would be amazing.
Reminds me of the Gixxer that you had, on your solo trip to Spain all those years ago. Keep it and enjoy the feeling of stress free ownership
ive gotta say i would expect more than a 2k reduction for a drop on a track. Maybe thats just me. I can afford 2k for one that hasn't been
Totally understand the whole stress free riding thing.
I rode a 2000 zx9r for about 10 years come rain or shine and thoroughly enjoyed it as it was already 'used'
Now that’s a track bike and I’m on new stuff (Speed Triple 1200 followed by a Speed Twin 1200) and I find myself triple checking the weather for any chance of rain, getting all pissy if I ride through a puddle and losing my head if I find a stone chip anywhere! It’s exhausting, and it means I ride a lot less 😕
Great content as always Baron 👍
What did you do with the bike?? Love the RR! And 9t!!!
Keep it and commute in it or sell it and buy something else. Either way please give us some more random chatter commuting vudeos
Ride the piss out of it until someone makes you a really good offer!
I can only assume someone's significant other politely but firmly suggested they should "get ride of that bloody bike"
Would watch you painting a wall Chris. Great to see you and your young lad having a laugh!
This is my dream bike … but my dream came true. I’ll be rebuilding a 2024 soon 🎉
Always a huge fan of your bike videos , finding you last year watching you on this channel and the other fixing bikes and repairing them inspired me . This is my goal start of small old bikes and build up . I have an addiction now and currently working on a 99 tl1000r, a 97 CBR900 , and a 91 zxr750 (barn find never had a UK MOT) only did its first miles then stored and never moved 😮😮😮😮
Wow awesome barn find
Do a win a bike comp, for p2t? Win win....no spin...so raffle it, £2 a ticket...plus lovely Full bmw rider gear and get 200k to enter...and help raise key awareness to more? Love the bike, but then i love 1299 Ducati bikes, cb1100ex and honda atv three wheelers and blades and cb250s! The tour of Ducati factory in beautiful Italy was amazing, do it. Now. All of you!! Thats me, the washed up biker. Ok, bye.
First Chris, and now you... Seems everyone wants some of the crashed RR action! Can't blame you though, people are scared of bikes like these but if you know what you're doing, they can be awesome. Completely different planet, but I rebuilt a very similarly crashed bike (gen 1 SV) from Pembry. It's a frustrating, but rewarding process.
