As a graphic design student, the style guide looks really interesting. I dig the comic book-y aspect of the illustrations, not mentioning the scenarios paintings. Really unique.

The picture of the Kid in the alley may be from a cut sequence of riddler's backstory. In the novelization, it talks about how Nygma was beaten up by bullies after fooling them with riddles. He gets sent to the hospital after falling into a coma. The reason he became obsessed with Bruce Wayne was because the incident happened on the same day Bruce's parents got murdered. The kid in the picture even has the Riddler's haircut.

Yeah could be. I always thought that was Peter David's invention for the novelisation but I guess it could have just been a deleted scene from one of the script drafts he was working on. I've never seen that scene in script form but it could exist.

7:07 That action shot was probably inspired by confrontations between Batman and Joker in the comics. Batman grabbing Joker by his collar is kind of an established trope between the two. It happens a couple of times in _The Killing Joke_ (including with the decoy at the start of that graphic novel in Arkham Asylum). It even happened on top of the cathedral in the original _Batman_ movie. It later happens famously in _The Dark Knight_ during the interrogation scene, and it was a part of a promo image for _Arkham City_ in 2011.
Given that Riddler was drawn with a very expressive face, it's easy to cover up his bowler hat and costume and still see the Joker in that image.

Hey, I recently found your channel and instantly subscribed. I also found your blog. Thank you so much for the awesome content.
I am a huge fan of the Batman anthology. The original 4. When are you doing the Batman and Robin?

Hey no problem. Glad you enjoy the site and channel. No plans to cover B&R at the moment but maybe when I start running out of Forever stuff to cover I might switch over. I don’t hate B&R but I also don't feel like the right person to be that movie's champion.

@@1995Batman The information, concept art (The batman forever batsaw) 1st draft of batman forever script is not out there. I am amazed at how you obtained this information. B&R is universally hated by people as they do not know the behind the scenes story. After researching it and piecing many info together for many years, I realized that in order to have a better understanding of the B&R, you have to research the action figures and the concept art. After spending hours on your blog, I believe that you are the right person, who can assemble everything under one roof. I do not know if there is a style guide for B&R available to purchase. I know for a fact that the original script (which had mr freeze written in a Shakespeareean way), and the style guide as well as explanation of various action figures will redeem the movie. It was WB's greed that destroyed the movie. Their fall guy was Joel Schumacher. He delivered exactly what they asked. A toy commercial. Looking forward and staying positive that you will do a B&R in the future. Please let me know if I can help in any way.

@@oliveremeralds8235 Yeah I do find B&R fascinating even if I don't totally like the finished result. The few bits of concept art in the Making Of book is great. I bet the Style Guide has some good stuff. There’s a few images on the Internet of what's in it (looks like they repurposed some of the animated series images) and I'm sure they pop up on eBay now and then. I'd love to find any early script for B&R but with Akiva Goldsman being the sole writer I don't know if it'll ever leak.
Honestly I've got about maybe a year's worth of Batman Forever stuff still to publish for 1995batman.com. I will seriously consider covering B&R after I'm done with it.

Some of the art and poses of the FOREVER KIDS section is re-used from BATMAN THE ANIMATED SERIES.

Batman Forever Animated Series on the Guide looks Like Batman The Animated Series Look

Yeah, I have a feeling they tweaked some stock Animated Series pictures rather than drew them from scratch.

Yesterday I found a single from the Batman Forever soundtrack, and it's the U2 track Hold Me,Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me. It's in mint condition too. It features some of the artwork from this post on the cover.

Oh yeah, the one on in a cardboard slip case. That's very cool. I think it was an exclusive that got packaged with the comic book adaptation.

Honestly... I've got alerts on my eBay for any Batman Forever merchandise. Couldn't resist when this popped up. I've actually got two - the first one I bought was missing the Forever Kids and the illustrated character models.

This Style Guide is one of my favourite Batman Forever things - I love getting a look at how they planned to market the film before it was made.
