Thank you so much for showing this Riaz.👌 Kingston is always being dissed and bad mouth by the media (because they know of the country's prosperity) so I'm so grateful for people like yourself and others that are promoting & showing, the good, positive vibes of Kingston. This is a blessed country with many Christians around to pray for the evil to lessen and the harmony and goodness to shine through. These videos I've come across are showing just that. Thank you once again 🤗😊
This look pleasing to you my friend. Notwithstanding the fresh fruits and vegetables, and ground provisions all I saw is pure deprivation. Might as well those shop keepers closed up shops. What kind of business can they do? Jamaica, what a mess!
@@decijohn6855 , Ever since my time, things have always been this way. The higglers co-existed right next to the stores and everyone survives. The fact of the matter is that there is no monopoly on commerce in Jamaica. That's humane. Thief and pickpockets always existed and will long after we are gone. It's the organic rhythm of life. No use bashing society over this. Just live. There's beauty in all the chaos. Jamaica is blessed and always will be.
@@chrisper94 I reject your argument, my friend. We all can live in an organized, civil society, and "eat a food". Highlers can sell in the markets, and make a living without creating such an eyesore, and the legitimate shopkeepers are able to do business. Jamaica needs to be fixed in every way, my friend. Which downtown of a city looks like downtown Kingston. Places like downtown Kingston only exist downtown Kingston, Africa and maybe the Philippines. Walk good my friend.
I use to work at Bellevue hospital. I’m always downtown. Go there every yr when I go home. I’m kingstonian. Things aren’t bad as people say it is. I love it down there.
Jamaica is very beautiful place, but somewhere like downtown Kingston may be too busy and too challenging for a tourist. I personally would not recommend it to a tourist, certainly not without someone with good local knowledge.
Blessed what business would they conduct down there plus there’s no attraction down there the most I would recommend a town a hope garden & Devon House
This is amazing! I wished that you would have interacted with the higglers/vendors and the viewers an synopsis of how they operate their business. Also, I hope that you do a feature on the Rasta man (the chef). Is food looks interesting.
Well I must say thank you for this walk. I have been watching so many videos walking around Coronation market and I have been trying hard to spot my big sister who still sells there after all these years. When I found her I did so much for her and begged her to stop going but she loves it. She is a business woman and is good at it so ,,,,that's that. But today I saw her and was able to pause the video and snap her. What a thrill. Thank you. And of course the video says it all....Is Downtown safe??? I see people spending their monies and going their busy ways, therefore ...no worries.
I was there a few weeks ago.. I felt the "pressure" "heat" and "intensity" of the place. However, a fantastic experience and lots to buy...safe...? That depends on who you go with, I felt safe enough to take the bus from Washington gardens to Parade terminal and walk around the market, however I was meeting people. Much love to all the people of down town Parade ah oono mek de place nice...one love and thanks for the upload...
I was born & raised in Jamaica in the 60's & migrated to the US at the age of 18 yrs old..I've returned every yr to visit family but I've always stayed in St Ann..in 2917 a family friend took me to Kingston and as soon as I arrived my chain was snatched from around my neck by a young man..Me personally will never go back to Kingston..
This is beautiful, health, fresh organic food all around. Only thing Downtown Kingston, especially the market and vendor areas need to be more organized and clean.
I know your walking and most Jamaicans do not liked to be filmed without their permission but, could you slow down the camera movement a little bit next time when your walking through a crowded area🙏🏽
I would feel safer on the streets of Kingston than I do on the streets of Baltimore. Also, I wouldn't have to worry about any mass shootings like here in the states. The truth is that petty theft is a fact of human history and will continue long after we're gone. Get over it. Life is good in Jamaica and it's a God blessed country.
I didn't bash at all. Just wonder peoples experience there as its where my grandparents are from and I want to know how other peoples time there is. Thanks for watching
Yes, some tourist do. When I visit Jamaica I make it my business to buy on the street and not in the store. I have done that since my first visit and will continue. I also take a lot of pictures to show all of my friends and family when I go back home to the states. I sent the first time and feel in love with the life of Jamaica, not hotel and I always buy black.
