There is something very classy and nostalgic about the BP filter on this thing. I seem to remember hearing that "sound" a few times back in the day. I am very fond of it, perhaps because it was never overused enough to get tired of it.

They say he has a wind machine with him at all times.

Yes, it has a fan built in, because it gets hot on the power supply. LIke the Memorymoog or the Fairlight.

Au début, je pensait que tu voulait dire que je parle trop (windbag en anglais veut dire trop bavard). Ce n'est qu'après Synthesizer Home a commenté que j'ai compris ce que tu voulait dire.

"it´s probably the only polysynth in this room that´s got band pass and high pass filtering". Behind him there´s an Oberheim 8 voice.

He said "probably" after all 😅 although... the SEM module was actually a monophonic synth module, which later was combined to four or eight voice Oberheims.

Nice job if you can get it, playing with a synth for weeks in your room (though I would want a few gallons of cointreau to inspire me!), great upload keep them coming

Can't wait for Behringer to produce a re-issue of this...

XERXES is good but expensive and monotimbral. I recommend Cherry Audio's ELKA-X which does the sequencer as well as the full bi-timbral synth for the ludicrously cheap price of $39

Elka was like Einstein... way ahead of the statuesque and just becoming understood. You could learn a lot in a short period of time from hanging around this guy if you weren't careful... great demo. Too bad Elka never kept going.... poly-at would be common place if it had IMO.

It looks like he's got it wrong about the actual playing of the laser harp.

I¨ve seen Jarre Live 3 times, all times where he played it, it is liv, he even missed a key when playing, an another time it actually did a "hickup", so he is definatly playing it live, conneced to the syntex. . .it may have been one of the first times jmj played it that i used tape, but litle unlikly to the interviews where he talks about the interactive part of playing on a consert, and beeing able to do something else than standing behind the keys. . .
