Great video Doug thank you brother for making this possible for others to see. Motivation from places that where not existing when we were younger. You are the mother freakin man .!! Sending you a huge hug buddy hope you feeling it. !!!🦾❤️🔥☀️🌙
Thank you for posting this. I wish more guys had access to a woodyard. I've been splitting since I was a kid and to this day there's been no better therapy for me. Even if some won't split after trying and trying and trying, they'll still do well in a campfire someday, and that's even more enjoyable than using it in the home to keep warm.
One of my good friends committed suicide when he was in his early teens. I will never forget him or what the experience taught me. One of the biggest things it taught me is just how much people miss you when you are gone. My brother died last summer and I miss him terribly.
Great video NEWPHEW, releaving stress is an important mind control that ALL need to learn find something that you can do to release the tension and drama from yourself.
Your use of figurative speech many times through the videos was unique. I enjoyed your message from one end to the other. And man, you had some pretty bad pieces to work through too !! When life hands you a day full of knots...turn it into kindling and use it to light a fire under your self. I just don't have the words to put together as good as yourself or any of the others that participated in the challenge to call attention to men's mental health. Awesome video with a huge message showing you truly care for your brethren.
When I was deployed to Iraq, my unit lost a Marine to suicide. When I came back, my boss asked me to lend an ear because he was thinking about it. My good buddy was roommates with the guy who did it in Iraq, one night a few years ago we he called me up and we had to have a long talk. My cousin served in Afghanistan, same thing. I’m a combat veteran and now a police officer. Statistically speaking those two factors combined make guys like me are exponentially more prone to suicide than the general population, or someone who is either a veteran or police officer. Sad fact. That said there is plenty of help. Peer support, religious leaders, VA, community groups. It’s out there. The biggest problem is people don’t want to talk about it: let’s change that!! Get help if you need it. *** Also a shout out to the channel. I’m a new subscriber and I can’t agree more, getting outside, being in the woods, working with your hands is great for the mind, body and spirit.
Good vid Ben. I've always said a lot of problems can be worked out in the wood pile. Suicide, I know too much about and have been thinking about what I went through 47 years ago.
The Saxon is the superior splitter, for sure. The Nordic splits well but, I can't recommend buying anything from Helko. ESPECIALLY the Nordic. You can see in my previous videos exactly why.
Great video brother.Good to know there is still good people out there.
I love that phrase! “Leave it on the chopping block.” That’s was a great video buddy, well said! #LetsSplitThis
Thank you, friend! Wish I could've gotten involved sooner but have been rained out nearly every day

Great video, thanks for participating. How do you like that Nordic splitting axe vs the Saxon?
