This live action based on anime is good because of two things: 1) actual passion put into it. 2) it's based on the _concept_ instead of trying to be a copy-paste of the original product. *_And that makes me want more of it_*
The draw backs are 1 they want it to be live action and anime at the same time and 2 they want to put there own fan style to it while wanting to have the style of the story. Im down for fan mad stuff but you need to pick what style you'r after. In my oppinion if you pick to include everything then you have to be insainly good or itll suck.

Cache is unironically one of my favourite powers ive seen in media generally, its so simple and intuitive while also being extremely interesting to watch. Mainly from the coordination and performance from the directors and actors making it so like incredible job. I also love the flavour text that Heiki loves museums.

and now imagine wirh a lot of study and reaserch and maybe even his awakening he can make like realistic fantasy/scyfi weapons like a proto lignt sabre (the one from hacksmith) or a chainsaw sword or even the dragon slayer made by shadiversity,
This could work. This is the problem with Hollywood anime adaptations - they're always trying to re-do the original. Making a spin-off instead means the creators have more leeway in defining the setting, the characters, the premise, the story. Anime is deeply rooted in Japanese culture and it's basically impossible to bring this culture to the US. It's not enough to say "Deku is now American" and then do the same story beat by beat. This is merely 15 minutes worth of story and we already have a clash of characters, clash of ideologies, deep backstory to multiple characters and impressive fight scenes with just as impressive VFX and a nice reference to All Might shouts which also stands on its own. It's the exact opposite of what Hollywood does and it deserves to be made into at least 8 episodes series.

The checklist shows thats what good movies are doing now.'
@Inebriatd "Historically & practically, you lose leverage the more you depend on someone to provide for you" True but that only applies when you have something to leverage. Many projects and some famous ones required such dependency to even get of the ground. If it fails then ow well. IF it's mildly successful the profit is mutual. It's when they get too big that problems arise

I love the depth we get from Backtrack's quirk just by watching like a minute long flashback. First of all, it seems like his quirk is a sort of variation of his mom's quirk. I'm guessing she could teleport any objects she chose to any given location within a certain range. Whereas Bactrack does the opposite and teleports himself to an object. But that's the obvious stuff. I find the potential of his quirk to be more interesting. Teleporting to his keychain is already a broken enough ability, but I doubt it's actually limited to that. He's currently limited to the keychain because it has the most sentimental value to him, and he unlocked his quirk for the first time when that sentiment was being threatened. At some point I can see him unlocking the ability to teleport to multiple things of personal value to him, or hell, maybe just any object in his surroundings. This is all just a crackpot theory based on the minimal evidence given in the video, but that's the fun of these sorts of things.
@@DrLigma1010 minato is the goat, but also no? minato has to mark stuff to teleport to it. his kunai are already marked, but he can also put a seal mark on you that stays forever, and that's how he teleports. from mark to mark

We have an entire first season outlined with a ton of new classmates, teachers and villains that we hope to one day bring to you all. Unfortunately, we can't just continue the series ourselves because it would take too much time, effort & money (sadly, we all have to work haha). After finishing the UA pilot during the summer in LA, I had to head off to work in Sydney beginning last November (though I can't legally say for which movie). I'll be out here until around mid May -- But I'm planning on doing a short fight scene (for fun over a weekend or two) while I'm out here with a few of the talented martial arts performers that I've been fortunate enough to meet and work with on this job. Anyways, keep your fingers crossed for us and I'll keep you updated if any good news comes about! -Chris #PlusUltra

I like how the villains take advantage of how the main character's teleporting ability functions, going where his keychain will be. The tactics are probably the most MHA aspect of this whole video. I love everything about this video.
I love all the little things they put in that feel just right. Like how "Stacks" actually uses his quirk in the initial fight when you go back and count the hits. How "Backtrack" is such a good name and a play off of the word backpack. That his mom is shown to have some kind of teleportation quirk too and he inherited a variation of it. The fake-out with the backpack throw upwards near the end of the first fight. The analogy of the child bullies to the villains in the present when he teleports. Veil uses his quirk in the opening before you know what it is. The music and the mid fight quirk explanations. Everything about it is just so incredibly well done.

Honestly, the way they reveal the main character's ability is so smart. Was thinking this whole time it was the backpack he teleported to but it was actually the keychain. Revealing literally as he was going in, caught me off guard and made it so hype. So well made, props to everyone involved.
I kind of thought his power was like Minato’s teleportation thing from Naruto. Like he could teleport to anything he touched recently or something. The fact that it was the keychain specifically was such a great twist. Also kind of makes me wonder more about the specifics of his power though, and why he can only seemingly teleport to his keychain. Writing wise, I personally think it gives the character a lot of room to grow if they learn how to teleport to other things as well.
@@user-ut5nx6hm9d dude its becz it was an item his mother gave to him before his first day in school so teleporting to it is sort of like coming closer to his mother, which would be great if left alone but they also made it an alegory for his desire to becum like allmight absolutely fantastic!!!
In the anime we see that abilites evolve over time and in the Vigilantes spin off we can see a better example of that when the MC *SPOILER* finds out his quirk is actually more gravity related than just magnetism making him able to shoot energy blasts and double jump instead of just hover above ground like we see at the beginning *END OF SPOILER* so playing by those rules MC here could probably pinpoint any object in the future.
The writing for this short was a good as the fight scenes, the F/X, the directing, the editing and the acting. And that is a very rare thing to have all those elements come together. Really brilliant job by everyone involved.
"All Might doesn't need to be everywhere. It's a hero's job to inspire others to do the same." I love this brand of heroism. Tenchigo man I agree. It’s much easier to just create your own story based in the universe than literally try to bring the manga/anime with the same characters Alive. Especially with something like my hero academia where literally 80% of the WHOLE WORLD has a quirk. The universe is already built and developed. Just make your own original side story like these guys did and then you end up with a gem instead of a disaster like all those Netflix adaptions lmao
Excel Daniel this isn’t technically live action, its’s more of a spin off. The climax of this season is when Backtrack realizes he didn't quite understand his quirk; it's not just his keychain, he can teleport to anything that he has an intense enough emotional connection to, and has to teleport to his newfound friend to save him from danger.
I was thinking the same, but kind of like Twice or Momo's quirks. Where he needs to know every detail of the item to jump. So naturally something with sentimental value is an easy one.
His mom had the quirk to teleport anything she touches to a location she wants, thus passing down some of her quirk genes to her son whose ability is to teleport to his keychain.. DETAIL MUCH?? THIS IS WHY I LOVE THIS SO MUCH

This live action based on anime is good because of two things:
1) actual passion put into it.
2) it's based on the _concept_ instead of trying to be a copy-paste of the original product.
*_And that makes me want more of it_*
Donatelia Sakura you’re damn right
Davon Alberty pretty sure he was comparing it to live action movies based off anime
This is to anime what Scott Pilgrim is to comic books/games
The draw backs are 1 they want it to be live action and anime at the same time and 2 they want to put there own fan style to it while wanting to have the style of the story. Im down for fan mad stuff but you need to pick what style you'r after. In my oppinion if you pick to include everything then you have to be insainly good or itll suck.
My only argument against this is how many people still go on about Light of Hope as a good live-action adaptation of DBZ. Even the fan production admits it's whole cloth adapted from History of Trunks.

I love that they actually addressed the fact that the guy is speaking Japanese to American opponents.
It's the exact opposite of what Hollywood does and it deserves to be made into at least 8 episodes series.
also the depth of the character developement in this one episode is so much more than in your average marvel TV show. like the flops on netflix. if they had these guys do it I'm sure they would be more successful

If this is canon, he'll be basically minato
@@DrLigma1010 minato is the goat, but also no? minato has to mark stuff to teleport to it. his kunai are already marked, but he can also put a seal mark on you that stays forever, and that's how he teleports. from mark to mark

Just wanted to give you all an update with all of the UA:LA questions coming in. We're still actively trying to pitch the idea to the powers that be.

That twist made the entire fight. They focused on it, faking us out to it being a nod to the Anime but NOPE it's the actual trick. Amazing.
@@user-ut5nx6hm9d dude its becz it was an item his mother gave to him before his first day in school so teleporting to it is sort of like coming closer to his mother, which would be great if left alone but they also made it an alegory for his desire to becum like allmight absolutely fantastic!!!

finds out his quirk is actually more gravity related than just magnetism making him able to shoot energy blasts and double jump instead of just hover above ground like we see at the beginning
*END OF SPOILER*
so playing by those rules MC here could probably pinpoint any object in the future.
The writing for this short was a good as the fight scenes, the F/X, the directing, the editing and the acting. And that is a very rare thing to have all those elements come together. Really brilliant job by everyone involved.
"All Might doesn't need to be everywhere. It's a hero's job to inspire others to do the same."

It’s hard to write an ideal like that when your society is the opposite.

Also yes the person who makes those live action adaptions are the reasons of the outcome but there ‘s still problems in making live action adaptions since anime has a very unique tone or feeling which is hard to capture in live action adaption
Just recently became aware of this and I’m absolutely loving it! I love how it completely captures the essence and adrenaline from watching a MHA ep.
This is what American live action anime adaptations should feel like!
Shut up u know it has flaws SMH...
@@KanzakiKaori9009 flaws related to a low budget, perhaps: but if a big budget production could put this level of care into their production, we'd be cooking with gas.
@@KanzakiKaori9009 lmao did he say it was perfect or anything?
@@jp0678 yes he did... SMH 😵
*db evolution* "ThIS is wHaT aN AnIMe mOVie LoOks likE"
*UA:LA with like no budget* This is what fans really want.
Curious Wars You can tell that this was made by fans of the series. Not only is it super well made, but it clearly understands the core themes of MHA and actively expands the world of the story and builds great characters. In
my mind now, there’s absolutely a UA:LA branch in the MHA world. This is what good fan content does. It makes the source material even better while standing on its own merits.
Dude the creator of db evolution didnt even watch db before making the movie he just wanted the $
@@icardian Damn, is that true?
@@jp0678 i remember hearing people say that, and even the movie has soo many differences to the manga and anime
This is legitimately the best fan short I’ve ever seen.
Treacherous Visuals I genuinely hope so. This is solid asf.
By far exceeded anyone's expectations, didn't require millions, or abnormal CGI. You guys made a perfect example of what a live action should be
Everybody gangsta until the main character starts having flashbacks
😂😂😂
Yeah but his flashback gave him the strength to move forward. That's called character development. 👍
@@justanothermedly you're fun at parties

Righhhtttttt 😂😂
The backpack throwing is such a cool concept.
Honestly
Bruh.. it's over and done with if he get's like an array of weapons with slots for that damned keychain... Sick
Bro no cap...when he slammed ole dude to the ground and teleported on top of him with his feet right after he threw the backpack down...had me amazed
ITz FiJi right! “Harlem SLAM!”
I literally felt that lol
thats just minato's teleportation jutsu lol
Bruh, there was even backstory in the form of a montage to show the character's motivation. That was perfect MHA!
The story, the fight, the music integration. Every thing is exceptional. Loved every bit of it. Waiting eagerly for part 2.
fight scenes were so clean, the transitions with the dude who’s weapon changes were so smooth too
I have watched this multiple time just for those weapon transitions cuz they are so good.
The editor is insane
I think he also added some cc to it to make it better

I'll make it 888 then

@@keymanser2726 and Bakugo
I mean they were special cases considering they fought against stain while this person fought against some thugs.
The climax of this season is when Backtrack realizes he didn't quite understand his quirk; it's not just his keychain, he can teleport to anything that he has an intense enough emotional connection to, and has to teleport to his newfound friend to save him from danger.
Hey get out of my head! 😅
@@RivenX3i Oohh I'm soo hyped cant wait for the next video😂
@@RivenX3i Listen, good writing knows good writing. This is great work.
So your saying if we got him emotionally attached to a weapon of some kind he could pull a Yellow flash on some villains? Neat.
I was thinking the same, but kind of like Twice or Momo's quirks. Where he needs to know every detail of the item to jump. So naturally something with sentimental value is an easy one.
I honestly love the way Stacks moves and Heiki's mastery of weapons.
My absolute favorite moment was when Stacks times the sidekick against Snapback.
Camera: how many rotation u want?
Them: yes
His mom had the quirk to teleport anything she touches to a location she wants, thus passing down some of her quirk genes to her son whose ability is to teleport to his keychain.. DETAIL MUCH?? THIS IS WHY I LOVE THIS SO MUCH
Yang Junkai Same.
Idgi can anyone explain?
I guess his dad’s quirk was similar too. Once teleported away he never came back
@@rasteros BIG OOF
Raster oof
This is something incredible. You guys did in 15 minutes what most movies fail to do in 2 hours. Really good stuff.
Honestly, got chills when the mom gave him the keychain. It's inspirational and uplifting just like the anime. Real shit man. Love it.
"So how many moving camera shots do you want?"
"Yes."
Japanese animators yes
And it was glorious! Perfection.
I mean, it is an immutable part of making a good live action anime
These were actually a very clever way to sort of mask the teleportation animation. The glare of the sun and the movement really added to the effect a lot.
Well, it is supposed to look like an Anime.
Big companies : "Making anime live action is hard, trust me"
RivenX3i : "Hold my All Might Keychain!"
"RivenX3i"
"Quirk: Cinematograph" "his quirk allows him to capture cinematic shots, and is able to imagine and recreate scenes in his mind and project them into the real world"
