    David, a small point for clarification that I think your viewers should be made aware of: The entire classic Slydini Knotted Silks routine is not taught on the L&L videos in a video format by any of the three teachers. It is only included in the PDF in written format. My father’s alternative product “Bill Wisch’s Definitive Lesson on Slydini’s Knotted Silks” is 2 hours long and includes (on video) the entire routine the way Tony Slydini himself taught my father to do it and as Slydini intended for it to be done. It also includes the “Splitting of the Knots” which these videos do not include. In addition, I have great respect for the instructors in this set, but it must be noted that Bill Wisch is the only person who Slydini gave permission to lecture on his original routines and techniques, including the Knotted Silks. Finally, he was told by Slydini himself, "Out of all the students I've taught the knots, you do it the best."
    If you’d like a complimentary copy of my father’s 2-DVD set to do a review/comparison, please reach out to my Dad (Bill Wisch) and we’d be happy to provide you one for you to review.

    So many of the tricks on the magic sites are reprises, albeit really exciting ones at times, of the old standby routines. Which goes to show that someone with great patter and routine can make those old ones shine even more than they already do.

    I love this effect but was never confident it was going to work. Once during a show I couldn’t break the knot and i just cracked a joke and tossed into my hat and moved on. This review makes me want to try it again. Thanks David

    I picked up a set of these from Rocco at one of his lectures years ago when he was touring promoting his De-lite, which I also picked up. The silks are a great mini illusion

    I highly recommend the World's Greatest Magic video in regards to the learning this effect. I bought ripstop fabric to make my own silks. If you hem the edges, then the ripstop will last nearly forever.

    I got the Murphy silks and I like the routines but these silks have very nylon feeling and get wrinkled . I will try other makers for these silks

    Hi David -
    Any comments on how much practice is involved for using this as the very first "silk magic" Trick? Thank you. ED

    Rocco has a dvd ,comes with props, covering this. Also has a dvd covering the linking pins. The silks are special made and are smooth as... silk lol. I have only seen them at his lectures.

    Are the corners of the silks reinforced to protect the silks from being constantly tied and untied?

    I saw this in the Penguin description of this item: "Two specially made silks of the exacting requirements for the routine, enabling you to have the right materials to begin the learning process immediately." So, can I do these effects with other silks? Do they have to be silk? Could I do these effects with actual table napkins?

    • @magicorthodoxy

      yes, I explain in the video you can use your own silks

    An unusual incomplete review. Seems to rest on the idea that all that needs to be covered is the fact this is Slydini's effect that is now available for purchase by the public.

    • @magicorthodoxy
      @magicorthodoxy  8 місяців тому +4

      It's always been available for purchase. Slydini's effect is on the pdf, the video contains 3 additional handlings. What info was missing?

      Slights and difficulty that you usually address. Based on this comments section, one individual would agree there is a level of difficulty that he discovered during a FAILED performance. Can't believe Tony Slydini offers us a "self working" effect@@magicorthodoxy

    Sorry man I appreciate your reviews here, but these silks are cheap. I was not new to this effect so I have other silks purchased. These silks get way too wrinkly and popped stitches. Also, you do not get the entire slydini pdf. You get all the work on silks.

    • @magicorthodoxy
      @magicorthodoxy  8 місяців тому

      Yes, like I said - if you have your own silks, or you'd rather buy your own - there are other ways to get this info

    I've talked with many magicians when I was developing my version of the knotted silks, including two of Slydini's students. I think what is often missed, but is obvious when watching video of Slydini performing it, is the lack of tension on the silks as the knots disappear. Another thing is the erroneous notion that moist silks are difficult to to perform the knotted silks with. I've wet silks and have no trouble making it work. Also, I use colorful 100% Chinese silks - they wear like iron and look billowy when not ironed.

      @@feralenergy9123 I'm unsure of the exact momme, but it's not a heavy silk. I buy mine from Bob Sanders - he's on The Magic Cafe. He can recommend the right weight and, since he took lessons from Slydini, he has some advice on the knotted silks.

      @@feralenergy9123 Contact Bob Sanders. He's a regular poster on The Magic Cafe. I buy my silks from him and he can recommend the right silks. I've yet to damage any of the silks he sold me and mine have been through the wringer.
