  • DISCLAIMER: I admit that I am not being completely fair to Jordan Hall in this video. I have not been trying to connect with him with the kind of skill and effort that this video may suggest. I will attempt to encourage him to check out Luke's channel. I will provide a link to this video with humility and a little embarrassment.
My comment on Luke's video: "Wondering if or when Jordan Hall will join these live streams like PVK does. Whether someone will or will not hop into a live stream means something to me for some reason."

Really enjoyed this conversation. This is giving me an idea to explore something like an Architecture of Attention that creates the structures beneath this community. Something built from metadata and conditional statements.
In general I would like to thank you for continuously putting your focus on loving others and becoming more Christ like. It is having a IRL impact for me personally, chipping away at my hardened heart has not been easy, your effort is not in vain. Also @55:42 gardening, fishing, relationships, yes all great topics.

Your words about softening the heart are great to hear and very encouraging for me. I personally experienced a softening of the heart miracle recently. I think confession to the right people and feedback from the right people helps.
Metadata from viewing history? Note that my family shares a UA-cam account so I didn't make my subscriptions public.
You did inspire me to mock something with your first video:

There are two different issues here. If we're asking why people with status don't join randos livestreams or otherwise connect with ordinary people, that's been the way of the world since time immemorial. I don't think that's ever going to change much. If it's a question of having something to lose, what they can lose, if anything, is something different from what the rest of us can: status, influence, some aspect of reputation. The reason most randos (and that's most people) are not going to join livestreams is very simple: they don't want their face and voice broadcast to the world and preserved forever on a YT server. I'm one of those people. That means that most of us will remain observers.

      Absolutely, always sacrifices and tradeoffs.

Should we try and give status to people who connect with randos and take away status from those who do not?

It's complicated. Who is going to police the attention given? How will that work? Status is a funny thing. If high status people (HS) connect with randos and lose status in the process, then at the same time the randos may/will gain status by their association with the HS. How does that affect the randos' connection with the randos around them? Do they remain the same or does their increase in status change the dynamic? Imagine this scenario: you're running a livestream and you're limiting the number a slots. You have one left and you can either let a rando or Jordan Hall/Peterson/Vervaeke/etc on. Who are you going to pick? I'm asking rhetorically; I'm not trying to put you on the spot. Most people know how they'd answer and I'm not blaming them for it. We're only human. The poor you will always have with you. 😉

Status, so called emotional "stability" (more like cluelessness of danger) and extroversion, I resent extroverts so much, doesn't mean I don't love some of them. I get what you mean as Jordan Hall is just a recent example of status enters the corner and the extroverts all start "look at me" dance so Hall notices me. Everyone can do better, but this has always been true. Freud was raised up over Jung and we have a false field of psychology now. Aristotle over Plato in the middle church, and we have broken philosophy in the church. LITERACY led to iconclasm in protestantism, it's intellectual supremacy, they said "oh, we're so smart, we read it now, destroy all the idols!!" They were icons not idols, they exclude all illiterate people from the church. How did they not understand? The screaming extroverts that said look at me, I can read. They were fools.
