I decided to practice making Jesus my king on October 12, 2023. Before that date, I was trying really hard to be king.

All the rules given to us from our Creator are there for our benefit and not the benefit of our Creator. The warnings and rules against idolatry are not in place because our Creator is a person who will become angry and vengeful towards you. Our Creator created us such that idolatry causes pain and suffering and therefore the warnings and rules are for our benefit. I do pray in the name of Jesu...

Great troubleshooting. Thank you Gavin!
Thank you for thinking about me :)
I thought the problems were from it still being member's only when you were doing it, I can't get to those transcripts
It seems that as long as the person watching the video can use closed captions then the tool can access the transcript data.
Gavin, forgive me a slothful, distracted and disconnected person, God forgive us both.

gavin whats up
Hello sir
Lol "and Aquaman..."
Looking at the stats on this video, I can tell the algorithm didn't like it :)
Thanks for this Gavin, your last couple comments on you are what your God is and make your God the best imaginable is a big part of why I even came back to Christianity
First
You are too fast!
Very good! Gavin what does your ancient commentary book say?
I'll need to check out the relevant one again and see.
Amen. Great interpretation of the scripture. That's how we understand it and live by it!
7:12 now you’re cooking, seems like Jesus would agree
6:07 yess nailed it
May I submit that Jesus doesn’t seem to want us to “dominate or wield power over each other like the gentiles do” but wants to rule our hearts, politics is about the external top down authority and I think we should be internally ruled by Christ which means true freedom
❤️ p.s. I wanna run for president
God in islam is what you’ve described except for the last part. He is limitless, merciful, most loving, kind, great forgiver, generous, etc. look at the 99 names of God in islam which would describe him. He is so forgiving that if you made a huge sin and intended not to return to it, and regret your mistake. He will forgive you. He loves you more than anything. He says that only the one that doesn’t want good in earth and does very bad things. Also, the one that intentionally doesn’t believe in him and associates partners knowingly of his presence goes to hell. He also accepts all kinds of people.
Your point about islam kept me wondering, you were saying that God should not be bothered to have a credit. And after thinking deeply about this, i would say i disagree with you. I would like to highlight that i just don’t think God cares about having credit (he is far more grater),he doesn’t allow to associate partners with him, because it is about something deeper. if God allowed any partners with him whether it is a man, a cow, or a statue, it would change the status and importance of God. Consequently the importance of his rules in the eyes of people. Thus, it would disrupt the the religion. Letting alone people will follow the instructions of people who have created these partners. Men will start to interpret of how God is and how he want us to live. And eventually disrupt the world more with their own rules because humans are subjective. They will not have the best point of view on certain aspects. We need rules about how to live life and that’s whats Quran is giving. Although, most of muslims are not following throughly and sometimes wrongly. But at least, they are following the ground rules. Not drinking alcohol, not doing drugs, not stealing, not abusing, etc. Also, taking good virtue’s like hospitality and charity to poor families. I don’t know if it makes sense
I just want to point out that a historical figure is not a man, cow, or statue.
A historical figure is an interpretation we can attempt to relate with.
9:21 Tayo, I really don't understand your criticism of me. Essentially, *it feels* like you're calling me a hypocrite. Saying that I don't advocate proselytizing...while proselytizing. There is a difference between sharing one's passions and loves and *letting the cards fall where they may* (letting go of the results, ie allowing people to respond with integrity with what they hear) and proselytizing which I see as conversionist (ie the either-or, zero-sum game of the Exclusivist Religion of the Right Side of History) Are those not different spirits? To me, they seem to be.
5:17 "The problem with evangelism...our way is right for everyone..." Amen.

11:56 I can tell you more about my experiences in orthodoxy from the dozen times I’ve been there
5:16 something also strikes me wrong about evangelism, it’s been turned into a 2m sales pitch formula once size fits all, it also feels opportunistic and even manipulative

Very good! If you LARP humility long enough perhaps you transform into that humble person, although that core sin temptation might always be there just more and more diminished
I love how you don't just have a pride problem, but think you're one of the most prideful out of billions of people 😂
😆
If you called me by the wrong name I'd lovingly correct you.
This is why Rambam say's Jesus and Muhammad are path makers
Texting is just so limited that it’s often times making things worse, bc it’s easy to misunderstand or it’s too simplistic, positive encouraging comments don’t require deeper 2 way communication, i think the purpose/telos of a critical text should be a live conversation, the text debate is even worse haha, just throwing slogans at each other
I think you would be a good convo partner with Jacob
Many worldviews are intellectual supremacy. People conflate immorality with stupidity. Ethno supremacists are everywhere. And if you point it out its called racism or anti semimtism. Christianity is the world's only religion that isn't about supremacy of some kind of human.
I don't think we have a lot of agency concerning our worldview. And God could change our worldview. Remember Pharaoh and the hardened heart.

To the degree that one submits themselves to or lives in service to or seeks to be lead by Truth makes Jesus their King, whether Atheist, Christian, Jewish, Muslim, or otherwise.

19:30 would a good sacrificial practice be to ask for forgiveness of each other? I went to my first forgiveness, Sunday, which I learned is annual, and had to ask forgiveness of each person there 150+, and it wrecked me
I've never done a practice like that.
@@RightInChrist ya never saw it before all my life going to church
10:20 Yessss!!
Thank you for taking the time to respond. Of course we can engage on topic Gavin. Looking forward.
❤️
It seems like a very important topic.
Criticizing the criticizers. That's very meta of you, Gavin. I'd be curious to know if this critique also applies to praise as well. Speaking of Chezi, did you know that in Jewish culture, it's permissible to criticize and even insult others as long as you provide good reasoning? For example, I can say, "You're an idiot, and here is why..." and that would be allowable. We see this in Luke 11:45, when Jesus blasted the Pharisees and one of the experts of the law said, "Teacher, when you say these things, you insult us as well.” So, it's not about moderation as much as it is about justification. That applies to praise equally as it does to criticism.
judge by the fruit
@@RightInChrist Absolutely, but sometimes the fruit can look good on the outside but be rotten inside. Dissection is often required (discernment). "Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.”
