- Went on a summer road trip from Anchorage to Whittier and got to experience what nearly all-day sunlight is like. Since the sun only goes down for a few hours, we were able to fill our itinerary with long hikes and lengthy kayak journeys, and take in the beauty of Alaska.

Fantastic! I haven't been to Alaska since I was a little kid and this makes me miss it a LOT.
Alaska love it, we go twice a year for fishing. But hate da blood sucking mosquitos
808 Hawaiian They’re so vicious, aren’t they?! I actually wore too much Deet and ended up making myself sick 🤢 Other than that, it was a great trip.
OK I originally was looking for docu-style short vids on Denali but they were all so lame and further down the list was your vid... which led me here. I gotta say, thank you so much for that walk down memory lane. I grew up in Anchorage but haven't been there since '86 and it was nice seeing (although now unrecognizable) old haunts. And you got to climb Flattop! And went to Portage Glacier! (my fave as a kid; was always such a huge deal to make that day trip down to Girdwood). It's too bad you didn't get to see the Northern Lights (one of the drawbacks of summer in AK -- less daylight equals less chance to see them). (if you're stil traveling) You gotta take a winter trip up there; experience the 4 hr day/20 hr night. Anyways, really enjoyed the vids; hope you're doing well!

Love the scenery! You ever wonder where Bob Ross got his inspiration? Those mountains, those lakes, those trees and all those happy little clouds all came from Bob living in Alaska. After seeing this, I wonder why he didn’t paint more waterfalls. 🤔😁 Thanks STL! This was a great first part, can’t wait for the second!

I remember going thru that tunnel as a kid. Whittier and the Prince William sound is beautiful. Next time I would recommend visiting Homer! I learned how to drive a boat there

Idk why this was in my recommended but if you're still here you need to go back to Whittier area. There is a wonderful "off map" locals hike you missed, you should go to the hand tram in girdwood, you missed a hidden sauna in the woods, you need to go inside the buckner building, crow pass is an awesome hike, and there are caves in hope during low tide you need to hit
Haha my buddy and I gave away our bear spray to some random guy too :) It's the way to go! There needs to be a bear spray exchange in all these places.
