The reason for a taller thumb stick is it improves aim, it gives you more control over smaller movements which allows more precise accuracy, I always use a taller thumb stick/control freak on the right thumb stick for aim and tend to leave the left standard, I’ve used a taller thumb stick forever and literally cannot aim without it now, I think the difference it makes is massive personally... great video!

Good video, the trigger travel adjustment makes a huge difference, especially for single shot weapons in cod or other shooters. Back in the 360 days I used to put screws in the triggers to restrict their movement just after triggering for comp play, this is awesome for those of us who value every millisecond.

I have this controller. It's pretty amazing honestly. I'm not a huge gamer but I got it in my series x bundle I bought. The customization is excellent and paddles are amazing. I use it in halo infinite and I couldn't imagine going back to a normal controller for a shooter. I can't even play shooters on my ps5 anymore because this controller is so great. I don't think it's worth full price tho you can find it on sale. Been a casual gamer for 30 years and the elite series 2 might be the best controller I have ever used. It feels premium I haven't had any issues with it and when it shits the bed ill be buying another one.

I find that in some games, like driving games, you may want to use the longer thumb sticks if pressing on the side more than the top.
The adjustable distance for the rear triggers is pretty darn awesome too. The swappable d-pad is likely the best thing for me as far as customisable items though. I do find myself swapping that a fair bit depending on the game.
I also love the fact it can be a wired controller if the battery does die and that the USB port on the controller will also charge the battery while using it as a wired controller.

Wow! I'd nearly given up looking at UA-cam informational videos, because the vast majority of them are (for me) practically useless. They move too fast and are often unintelligible, so that I spend all of my time scrolling back. trying to catch things I should have understood the first time. This is undoubtedly due to my own limitations, but I'm stuck with them.

I almost bought this controller last year in November 2021 before I had gotten my XSX, I was at GameStop looking to buy a good pro controller to play COD, Gears and Halo Infinite and I had saw the Elite Series 2 controller. I almost got it but then I remember watching reviews on UA-cam hearing about how a lot of people had problems like stick drift right out of the box, broken bumpers not too long after getting the controller and sticking face buttons, I really thought about it for a minute while I was standing there in the store trying to figure out if I wanted to get it or not but I ended up getting a Razer controller (Razer Wolverine V2) and it is pretty awesome. It’s not like the Elite 2 controller as far as what all you can do with it but man the trigger stops on the controller are freaking awesome and I know I have been playing a lot of COD Vanguard and Black Ops Cold War and I have been going off getting crazy kills like fury kills and double kills I’ve also gotten play of the game and MVP in Vanguard a bunch of times. So I would suggest for anyone who is having trouble getting a Elite controller and/or has gotten a bunch of bad batches numerous times and is fed up with Microsoft’s Elite controllers I’d say go for a Razer controller instead cause a lot of there controllers are close/almost on par with the Elite Series controllers and are very good and well built.

I bought this controller in December 2022.
I want to add that the controller out of the box did have connectivity issues with bluetooth. However, after some firmware updates to the controller through the Xbox Accessories App in the Microsoft Store, all of my bluetooth connectivity issues went away. It's been a great controller for me so far.

As a CoD fan for a while, started with a scuf back in 2012 and it broke, taught myself how to play claw and got into kontrol freeks for better right stick aim precision. The raised thumbstick essentially acts as a permanent kontrol freek and was one of the most valuable features for me. On top of this, the first thing I did was remove the paddles and keep them safe in case I want to try them out down the line.

1:54 taller thumb sticks allow you to use a higher sensitivity and still keep control of it because the greater range of motion needed eith the longer stick alows you to make fine movements still while also using the high sensitivity to turn around very fast. Basically in short, it makes a 7 sensitivty speed feel like a 5 but also having rhe benefit of turning very very fast when needed

From what I can gather, the taller stick is for better aiming in fps games and the others are just for more confortability I guess. I just keep the textured ones on normally but I’ve tried the others out and they do feel nice, just not my style. One thing I would liked to have been done differently on the controller is having the Xbox button not be protruding from the controller, but flush with it instead. That was the way that Microsoft made the Xbox one controllers, if I’m not mistaken. I might be though, because I got mine second-hand with a controller that did not ship with the Xbox.

I've looked at 20 plus videos on this controller and you are the only one to tell me what the 2 ports between the paddles actually are. Even the xbox videos don't tell me - nor does the very poor manual in the box, a very sloppy oversight, and very unprofessional - there must be thousands like me who have never used a controller, and would like to know how they work. It seems to me that every video on this controller just assumes that everybody knows how to use them and has a comprehensive knowledge of all controllers - wrong. It would be nice if someone would make a video on this controller, or any controller, and assume they are talking to five year olds and start at A and finish at Z. Sorry for the rant, enjoyed the video. Cheers, Harry.

There are so many reviews bashing this controller that I almost didn't buy it, but after much research I decided to give it a shot. Microsoft has it on sale right now for $40 off and it's only $20 for a 3-year extended warranty, so why not? I'm glad I did. Many people talk about how they have stick drift out of the box, and at first I did notice a little bit of drift, BUT this controller is so much more sensitive than the standard Xbox One controller that I could set my deadzone little higher and it still performed like there was less of a deadzone than my One. I noticed an immediate improvement is the smoothness of my movements in Assetto Corsa (racing) and Hunter - Call of the Wild. I have to think that most people complaining about stick drift don't know how to configure their controllers, or they just don't know that some stick drift is inevitable in every controller. What Microsoft achieved with this controller is pretty commendable IMO. Somehow they programmed the controller to essentially bypass a large portion of the deadzone with the sensitivity, and in a way that maintains smoothness. Also, I find the buttons, bumpers and triggers a real pleasure to use. Many people complain about button failure, and although I've only had this controller a day, I do wonder if many of these people are button-mashers. I think just about any controller would have a hard time with an aggressive playstyle. Less is often times more. So far, I think this controller is a great design and I hope it stands the test of time.

  • @gs8494
    @gs8494 2 роки тому +2

If you're lucky and get a good one, it is without doubt the single best controller for Xbox, but it's a lottery, if you luck out it's a lot of money for a flawed product, not only that but the drift issue seems to be unresolved, Microsoft were desperate to get the drift issue taken out of the class action lawsuit which on the face of it means they don't know how to resolve the issue or knew it would be an issue but went ahead with the lauch anyway and hoped they could ride the storm, either way it's a bad look.
I've had 4, 2 were warranty replacements, and all had issues. the best lasted 6 months before I started to get drift, 4 controllers and 4 failures tells you everything you need to know, as good as they were when they worked I just cant justify the purchase anymore, £130 is about the cheapest you can get them in the UK but if you get a bad one then it's money pissed away. FWIW I'm not a heavy user, I own a Playstation, Switch, and a gaming PC and bounce around them so I'm never going to do more than 10-15 hours a week on a single system unless I'm taking my time on a new release, even at my heaviest use I might top 20 hours but not consistently.
It's a fucking ball ache tbh, when it works it's a amazing controller, but 4 out of 4 failures is just not acceptable for a premium product not even close. If you can afford to take the chance go for it, but if it's a big purchase it's not worth the risk.

Also lots of people throw their controllers and treat it like they’ve had it for years. I have owned both versions. V1 and v2. V1 had mild stick drift and v2 and scuf had no issues at all.

@@jbheath6678 like I said. You probably don’t treat your controller as it needs to en treated. Also you might have gotten one of the bad batches Microsoft was talking about which had all the issues people had

Stick drift in both joy sticks. Bottom left two paddles no longer work. Only had it for 8 months and it's basically falling apart. Complete rip off for the price you pay. I don't recommend it at all. But if you like wasting money, go right ahead

The answer might surprise you. Literally one of my least favorite gotcha lines any content creator uses. I literally forgot why I was here in the first place. -.-
