    Most people who try to immigrate to Lithuania,
    usually leave for other EU countries once they experience the freezing 🥶 temperatures,

      Hi, I have been to Lithuania, Vilnius, Kaunus are amazing, but I love the countryside. Especially all the lakes in Lithuania. Just wondering, I know a lot of expats (like from USA, UK, ) go to the cities, but how do you think western expats would fit in like in the beautiful countryside? Would they feel welcome? Very accurate evaluation. food spending i also spend around 70-100 per month. rent yeah 200 bigger cities but can get even for 100-150 in smaller cities.

  • @MrTadizzz
    @MrTadizzz 4 роки тому +9

    The price for rent is true, but the food is waaay off. unless you want to eat pasta and potatoes all month and not eat out at all, then sure 70€ hits the spot, but i personally spend more than 200€ a month and i don't really splurge on it that much.

    • @KindnessAniogbo
      @KindnessAniogbo  4 роки тому +3

      That's also true and it all depends on your budget. If a student is not working they might have less than 100 euro to spend on food which will encompass them to make home made foods too. But I totally agree, if you are looking to eat out often then from 100 euro up should be the budget.

    • @Koooles
      @Koooles 3 роки тому

      pasta and potatoes would be like 40 Euros, at least that's how much I spend as student. You can easily stay around 100. I'm honestly not sure what you should be eating to hit 200 per person, I never spend that much in my life and I buy quite "expensive" stuff like vegan meats, almond milk etc. that is a bit more expensive that their non vegan equavalent. If you cut snacks out and sodas you can easily save a ton.

    Well, as a Turkish national, i have never ever experienced any racism here in Lithuania. People were always kind and normal to me. (I have been living here for 10 years.)
    Maybe some foreigners just exaggerate what they went through? I know some African friends even consider it racism when people stare at them on the street. Well, this is overwhelmingly a white majority country, and a homogeneous one. There are no many Africans over here, and people just stare at them due to curiosity.

    • @KindnessAniogbo
      @KindnessAniogbo  3 роки тому +3

      Everything is not racism and not everything should be considered racism. However there are experiences and proof of people who have been treated differently because of their skin colour and that's a fact. If you didn't experience racism, I don't wish you would. It's not a nice thing anyway.

      Well, Lithuanians respect to personality not to your passport. If you know how to get along with them, and speak their language a bit, and doing no sassy American things around. Then they will respect to you.
      Damn. I’m a Turkish here in Lithuania and never experienced racism or some. Just obey the rules and be patient, plus don’t expect a special treatment because where you are from. Everything is gonna be okay.

      🙃🙃 This video was made long ago but I am sure I mentioned that racism shouldn't stop anyone from doing anything. Even I as a white German who is studying in Vilnius made really bad experiences with xenophobia in Lithuania. I was searching for a flat in Vilnius and more than 10 Lithuanian landlords told me, no, I don‘t want have foreigners in my flat, go away!
    Ok, racism and xenophobia is also a big problem in Germany but Lithuania is next level!

    Sometimes one should look in the mirror and change their own racism before they blame a entire nation. Especially one that welcomes a international student to study in their homeland.
