Nice upload as an ex Plant Operator in the British Army who has experience in servicing large voluminous equipment this brought back some fond memories of being elbow deep in various fluids while stuck down a Servicing Pit for sometimes days on end.
I was much happier pulling levers than dropping fluids of course but ultimately the job satisfaction of completing a full service always made it worthwhile.
Looking forward to seeing these beauties in action guys.

Ps We had Terex Equipment also so well used to the sound of a screaming Detroit Diesel first thing of a morning.
Just watched a video from a NY farmer who attended a steam tractor show where a 1913 IH "Mogul" tractor had painted on it " NOTICE ,oil and grease are cheaper than Parts ".
also still think Mom & pop should do a video on raising you two guys.!

What an absolute monster undertaking - changing all the fluids and filters. You've just broken my will to complain when I have to change oil and filters in my F250 diesel. I will never say another word!
As a kid I worked and visited a farm of some family friends. They inherited a small farm and moved from a city in Germany to South Dakota. They would do repairs in an old falling down wooden barn, if they couldn’t find a socket they would go to town and buy another set. Tools and junk heaped everywhere, even as a boy I knew that was wrong:)
I knew exactly where you were going when you mentioned the big boxes! What a fun thing for your children, and what great memories you’re building!!
The cardboard house and the painted nails,you fellows are doing an awesome job of being DADS!. The farming stuff is a great second place but family is first. Great job on everything. I wish you a good harvest, even with all the tough weather issues. Cheers.

Kids and big boxes a great combination. Our kids had more fun with boxes than any of their toys. On another note, I can't imagine what it costs to change all the fluids and filters on those two combines!!!!!
I absolutely love the painted nails Scott! Your entire family are truly amazing people, amazing dads. Memories with card board boxes, and probably other crates that become forts. You guys are amazing fathers, hard workers, incredibly talented, and so much fun to watch. Thank you for sharing your family with us. I made a tool for fixing the center feed drums without needing a torch. Just 2 circles cut from the side of a thick pipe and threaded center on one. Stick one inside and clamp them together through the drum finger hole to squish the dent out. Works awesome.
In regards to the oil drain
There is a tool you can get to put on the engine we’re the plug goes that you can stop and start the oil drain process with out making a mess works great

Talk about a tool learning curve, for everyone. Nice job on the cardboard boxes. Our grandkids have tons of toys but will play with boxes also. I got my toe nails painted once & only once for them. One foot, purple for her & one green ,for him. They were impressed for 10 sec, maybe 15 sec.
Thanks guys for the content. I can no longer do physical labor, however I always enjoyed working with my hands and at the feeling at the end of the day of accomplishment. No matter how dirty, greasy, or covered in cow poop i was. Please keep it up. And may God bless your operation and family. The cardboard made me smile, reminded me of a Barbie I spent a couple of hours on before Santa Claus arrived in 1984. A glass of wine didn't hurt. I will always remember that year.

Nice tool boxes and organization. I recently did the same and used my old ones for nut bolt washer and screws and had room left over for fittings.
Thanks so much for sharing. My Dad's last combine before he retired was a 1986-1660 Case IH Combine. Great memories with my Dad during harvest. We lost my dad in 2019. He is missed greatly. The 1660 Case IH was the last machine I operated. That was probably around 2001. Combines have changed so much since then. Thanks again so much for sharing.
Nick, the kids playing in the big boxes made me smile. My dad would bring hugh shipping boxes home for us to make forts. Great memories. Thank guys for being awesome husbands and daddy's. Blessings on the Welker Families. Peace!

I’ve had the same tool box for 25 years. Used it daily when I was a heavy equipment mechanic. It’s in my garage now. Doesn’t matter what drawer I open it’s the wrong one 👨🔧🤦
You guys are great dads’. I love your channel. It’s amazing how people think farmers just drive around the field and make money. They have no concept of how much it cost just to do an oil change and all the filters.

Very nice toolboxes. Lots of storage for your tools. It is interesting how we collect so many tools to get the job done anymore. Good to reduce the number of toolbox’s you previously had.

If you have a steep hill boxes layed with an overlap make a real fast sleigh ride. Just sit on another small box and away you go.
Just a suggestion about the toolbox. Get a second one, set one as sockets and ratchets and the other for wrenches. If you plan on keeping the older boxes, use those for "specialty" tools. Looking forward to harvest time, hopefully, you'll get good solid yields. Cheers :)

On big bud leaking water, there is a compression tester to see if compression is getting in coolant, a tube with special fluid in, placed on top of radiator, fluid is blue,turns green when diesel exhaust is in rad, yellow on a gas burner. Would recommend testing, might have compression in radiator, causing it to blow
if you're gonna use a cut down tote like that for the oil you could also fab some baffles from the cut off sides and top of the tote to go into to prevent massive sloshing as you move it around.
Hey, and if LegArms wants to paint his nails fancy colors, that's cool too.
Take some of your smaller toolboxes and put good casters on them and use them as tool carts. Just put the real basic stuff in them. You will be surprised how much time you save by having the box close behind you.
Radiator coolant is also a corrosion inhibitor. I'd suggest not running with straight water in an aluminium radiator as corrosion occurs very quickly.

Not sure how chronological the scenes are, but Nick cuts boxes for the kids condo (great job Dad!) , and then shows up in the shop with a finger taped up. Ah, I remember so well the the cuts and bruises from being a Dad with little ones... dangerous business! LOL My Dad almost broke his collar bone climbing in a 65 year old Weeping Willow to haul a cable spools two sides up into the tree for two floors of our magnificent tree castle when I was 8. Brutal business having kids! Meanwhile Scott shows us his painted Daddy fingernails.. When I was in the Navy my daughter could only paint my toenails, but she made the most of it. Fond memories.
Nice Case IH tool boxes. Before they get dirty, a good ceramic coating would help keep them beautiful. 🤣😆

Wonder if you ever cut the filters and open them, (the more important ones) stretch the accordioned media out and check for metallic contamination.
Run a magnet across where the vee was in the pleats as that where most contaminant will be trapped and check for the bad stuff. Keep in mind that there may be non ferrous metallic particulates.

At oil changes on my Cessna engine, I check the engine filter for metal.

You guys have the operation to harvest big crop! I hope God, who has blessed your fields with warm summer rains-and some hail, too, will bless and protect the kids and family with extra good things.
A toolbox drawer labeling idea... Buy some 1/2" wide by 15-yd long Roll-N-Cut Flexible Magnetic Tape (available at Amazon, amongst other places). It's magnetic on one side with a sticky back on the other side covered with a white tape. Cut it to consistent lengths of 3-4". However, leave the white sticky side cover in place. You can then write on the white side with a Sharpie, or print out 1/2" wide labels with a label maker and stick them to the white side. This gives you ultimate flexibility on labeling the drawer's contents. It also gives you the ability to change your drawer organization as needed by just moving the magnetic labels from drawer to drawer. You can also put multiple different labels on the same drawer. This system has worked well for me.

I had to laugh when you fellas were doing the unboxing in the beginning, because my first thought was Case IH tool box, and I was surprised at the same time. Nick, with your hair cut so short, you really look a lot like your dad, and he is so kind and humble. I wish your mother would take a shine to the camera, because it's rare to see her. Love those Welkers. Man, those huge filters and all those fluids must cost a fortune. We non-farmers don't realize what those machines require. We complain about changing oil in our cars every 10,000 miles. Kids just love playing in big boxes. Cudos to Scott for letting his daughter paint his nails. Lots of fathers wouldn't do that.
When you grabbed the drill from the tool box, I thought, did you ever think that we would be using tools like our grandparents, or even great grandparents used? Cordless! 🤣 The kids sure liked those box house you made. Stay well, thanks for sharing 👍👍
We farm in east central Alberta about the time of your video we drove past your area to Northern California. It’s amazing to see the how the crop conditions change in a days driving. We have what looks like one of our best crops and are about 7 hours north. I hope what missed the hail surprises you.
Nothing greater in daily life than the children God has blessed us with. Thank you Lord for the five, all adults, you blessed me with. Also, my two grandchildren.
Nice work - not easy to service those 'monsters' of a combine. I have fond memories of the neighbor picking ear corn with a IH 2 row tractor mounted picker. Farmer James was what he wanted to be called. Sadly his house / farm is long gone. Only memories in my mind now. His acres are covered with houses along with my grandpa's place. Miss riding out with Grandpa and digging horse radish roots. Don't miss the grinding of it though. IF the wind changed when grinding it. You would start to tear up and sometimes cough. But loved eating it. Soon you'll be harvesting the crops not hailed on. Means winter will soon be upon us. Getting my 13 hp snow blower ready. The neighbors love coming home from work. Their driveways done and all they have to do is pull into their garage. The Mail person also likes me. LOL Hope the crew / family and you are doing well. Take care - be safe and God Bless.

Please be sure to add the purple additive to the water so it will not cause electrolysis. That will cause pits in the sleeves. It happens to mine last year and I ran water in it for just 4 weeks. Uhg! Parts is outrageous right now.

You reach the engine oil drain from the engine deck side instead of squeezing behind the engine. Also don’t forget def filters!
Watching Scott cut the bands off those boxes reminded me of a kid on Christmas morning with wrapping paper flying as he opens the presents.

Wear protective gloves when draining the engine oil, protects your skin and you. You probably already know this, but those parts that have to be driven in, freeze em first if you can.

You should get your brakekleen in bulk and a pump sprayer. It’s expensive to purchase off the hop but well worth it in the long run

Did every fluid except the hydraulic on our 6130 last year, I think I went through 11 separate gearboxes. Now this year it'll be that, 2 magnum 280s, a magnum 180, and a 2388 combine as well. Probably closing in on 200 gallons of hytran in total
One idea for the magnet would be to talk to your local car painting shop and ask if they have any PPF film scraps you can grab. Those have worked well
I have picked up some sticky sided magnetic tape and put labels on them. That way you can mix or move them until you decide a on a more permanent location. I have moved things from drawer to drawer after about a year or to getting the most common in a the best location.

Look up wilky supply in Saskatchewan. They sell a metal clamp the goes on by sides to straight out the auger dents you can straighten them in 5 minutes. 👌🏼

Those combines are like our concrete pumps, many filters and lots n lots of oil lol 100+ gallons of hydraulic fluid and 40+ gallons of motor oil for just one piece of equipment..Thousands of dollars to just maintain them and people forget to see that, just like y'all with your equipment 🙏

If you're going to line the drawer of a toolbox do it properly with eva foam that is at least 20mm thick so you can do cut outs for the tools, not that tissue then drop-in plastic/rubber rubbish.
I use a laser engraver to etch sizes and other info on to all my sockets in large numbers.
