For range-Lex Luthor’s voice actor here is both Mr. Krabs (SpongeBob SquarePants) and The Harbinger (John Wick 4). He’s also Lt. Hank Anderson (Connor’s partner) in Detroit: Become Human, and did the model/mo-cap for that role. Look him up! He’s had a long, stellar career. I didn’t even know until today that he’s Lex in the old animated DC shows.

When I first saw this episode as a kid, I couldn't fully appreciate how good this show was. But as an adult, I'm so glad I grew up watching this show. This is one of the greatest reveals of all time, Luthor talking strangely, then it's slowly revealed it's actually Brainiac speaking as his form is revealed in Luthor's body.

why would he be scanning luthor’s body for no reason? even if he did, all of this stuff just appeared. he wasn’t full of metal. the technology inside of him was microscopic and dormant, and only activated in this moment. superman is really powerful but he’s only a person. nobody could have seen this coming. luthor would never have planned this for himself and he’s clearly terrified. brainiac is considered a non-threat at this point. there was just no reason to believe anything like this was on the table.
It's nanotech. Until shortly before that transformation, Braniac existed as trillions of microscopic bots floating around in Lex's body. Even if Superman x-ray'd him, he wouldn't see anything amiss, not unless he zoomed in, and while I think Superman can do that, I doubt he'd have any reason to zoom in to that extent.
That was a brilliant twist: the buildup was compelling, the details made sense, and the payoff was phenomenal. I remember watching this when it premiered and my jaw immediately hit the floor.
I love how it was foreshadowed subtly when after he got shot by Brainiac, some episodes later its revealed that he is no longer dying of Kryptonite radiation poisoning.
That does bring up the question tho: what did brainiac need luthor for when he has this amazing tech? Like you already had these genius nanobots that can transform a living human into a half you without killing that human. How are luthors hands better suited for making you a body than the nanobots? (I never watched the show, so tell me if there are any logical reasons in it)
He was hiding in Lex until the right moment to reveal himself (he also lost much of his power thanks to the destruction of his ship by Darkseid and the League), and waited for Lex to start creating his own A.M.A.Z.O to body jump, but As Waller and the League stopped and destroyed the robot, he had no choice but to trust Lex. As Lex is a human ambitious for power and knowledge, it was a perfect mutual relationship for both of them.
he basically chose a hiding spot who he could manipulate into making him a new body if needed. no one would question the billionaire weapons manufacturer making a robot

For some reason, I heard 2 things from Brainiac's explanation: 1. Brainiac impregnated Lex with his own baby self. 2. Brainiac became a parasite in Lex's body.
What many people forgot is that Brainac is software not hardware. He is able to survive in any computer system that has sufficient processing power to support him. For that reason Braniac is able to inhabit multiple different bodies simultaneously. There are many Braniacs scattered across the Universe. Each is working to fulfill Braniacs ultimate goal. The collection of all knowledge and the extermination of all life in the Universe.
