@terryescreactions24-7 Me too, Terry. I'm not a huge fan of Olly's music (pop is not my favourite genre) but I love that he's our artist. He's talented, has prescence on stage, & has charisma oozing out of every pore. He's also known internationally. He's a Eurovision fan who's tried to be our rep before. He's going to throw everything he has at the competition &, because of his love for ESC, he will know what works on the Eurovision stage. I'd heard the same as you about his vocals but, having watched a few live performances, I really don't see a problem. Take It's a Sin with Elton John at the Brit Awards, 2021. He recorded the song with Elton to promote Olly's TV series of the same name, the drama series about gay men in the early days of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the UK, with Olly playing the main character. He held his own against Elton John, which is quite an achievement. Most people would be either drowned out, or at least overcome, by Elton"s genius. Instead, Olly dazzled on stage with his performance but also his singing. When you get the seal of approval from Elton John, you know you're doing something right! All in all, I'm amazed that the BBC have upped their game chosing someone as talented & popular as Olly Alexander. It's about time the BBC started taking the competition as seriously as most other countries. It's an amazing decision & I'll be shocked if we don't do well. We have such a healthy, successful music business here in the UK & it's a crime that the BBC hasn't profited from that in Eurovision before now.
@@angelaburrow8114 Thank you so much for such a detailed comment 😍 I am super excited to have such a modern and relavent artist representing us. And like you said, some of his live performances he has done weren't particularly bad, so I am not too worried about this at the contest. Most of all, it seems he is a born performer and I feel that will really help to sell the song to the jury members and viewers too. All in all it is a very exciting time to be a UK Eurovision fan, and I am loving it. Once again, many thanks for watching and commenting 😍
