Con, doesn’t get any better than this. Rhythm section smoking tight, as usual. Nice Conga and Bass solo. Lead singer always good. Kat’s great and of course I’m in love with Pina. Liked the horns, but they could have come up with an additional lick. Smiles from Dallas Texas on a cool winter’s day. It’s all good.
Agreed, though me things that it is the composition that invites/allows percussion for such prominance. Bass, saxaphone, drums, vocals are incredible already IMO.
There are a few Bands that I call “musicians Musicians” musicians that other musicians get excited about. Tedeschi Trucks Band comes to mind, TOTO and a few others. I consider you guys one of the few others. Well done.
Absolutely awesome.....that slap bass of Con's and the guys on percussion out back mixing that all important dough is the soul of this track. The horns providing that umph and first class vocals made this one of your best.....had me up and dancing in the kitchen ! Brilliant 👏
I couldn't agree more on all of it. I'm waiting for them to come to the US. I'll be buying backstage passes. Ok Con. 2 things. 1. Good job on the slap. Bakithi would be proud. I think you've been holding out on us. 2. How many of those Yamaha BB basses you got? I've counted 3 now.
Wowza, Con not only ravishing, good looks, but dude you can make the strings on the bass rock! The HSCC band is off the charts. Thanks to all for the feel-good moments. Hugs to all.
Wow! Now you guys sent me back to 1991, when I had 15 years old and went to the US to study. I watched Paul Simon at the Hollywood Bowl with family and friends, as it was part of the Central Park tour he had that year. I have such good memories with this song, dancing and singing along with friends I made there! 32 years ago... Thanks HSCC for this wonderful revival 😍
I don't need to listen up to the end to say that its one of your best performances. As a bassist too, what can I say about Constantine Delo playing? Wonderful!!! Horns an vocals superb!
Constantine just CRUSHED that bass intro! I mean, to be expected but that was extra spicy!! Everyone played so well here and Lopresto is of course always on point!
HSCC have angels in their architecture. Found them in the dark months of 2020 and they have carried us into 2023. 🙏The Club has expanded worldwide. And this track shows you are match fit for South America and beyond. You deserve massive success. That pedal board makes a difference 😀 Pina 🥰
The gifts they gave to us all during such a difficult period for so many is just incredible. And they are still giving, week after week. Wonderful people!
Top marks to Steve Todd for setting and keeping the back beat going. It sets the tone of the song. And top marks to Jason for the piccolo work. The BV twist at the end was superb. Only thing missing was Annie and her trombone. Every time I hear this song, I think back to the video Paul and Chevy Chase made, and break out into a wide smile.
Con you killed that bass, man. Pluck and thump extraordinaire. All brilliant but the penny whistle did it for me. Superb. I was at the Graceland concert in Harare in 1987. Closed my eyes and took me back 36 years. Magical
Way to kick off 2023. Great song selection - incredibly well performed. Was anybody not having fun performing this? Looked like you were all having a blast! Loved it so thanks guys!!!!!😀
Wow, just too much FUN!!!!!! Did anyone, other than the drummers and bongo guy, break a sweat? So technically proficient that it’s easy! Great bass percussive technique, Constantine!!!! Like I said, “no sweat”!
Honestly pushin the limits here doin Paul Simon but ONCE AGAIN!!! Holy shit!! You people are just amazing! Vocalist nailed it. Horns Nailed it! Bass …. ain’t even gotta say it ❤HSCC
Love the bass line in this song which of course was played to perfection. Great job everyone. One of those songs that makes you want to get up and groove along. Another job well done HSCC. Great start to my Friday morning, thanks!
you can just tell people enjoying what they're doing when the people without mics are singing along. Another awesome, authentic and creative production.😊
Interesting how I found myself paying more attention to the lyrics in your version of the song than I do in the original. I genuinely liked it, being very much a latecomer to the whole Gracelands album. Great work as always.
That bearded guy playing the pennywhistle was perfect! So is that slap bass! Y’all brought me back to Simon’s Rhythm of the Saints show I danced almost from start to finish. Thanks!
Being a bass-playing band leader, I knew Con was going to smash Bakithi Kumalo’s bass part, but my real joy came from the piccolo solo, that was an absolute pleasure to listen to and watch. Bravo!
Con's slap base speaks for itself! Do I need to draw attention to its magnificence? What a fine product from The HSCC! And, yesss, I am besotted with Kat - why do you ask, sir, do you not have an eye in your head??
So much fun being had on stage, love this - and that fun just mixes with the talent, which in turn mixes with the artistry to make a complete top tier performance. Awesome job all
Once again, absolutely brilliant, marvellously done and the bass!, orbit worthy. The energy, you can feel it pulsing through you. Don't stop HSCC, never stop.
❤ Mr. Con, HSCC has done it again with another great cover. Your bass playing was placed on great display and Mr. Danny’s vocals were spot on as always. The background vocals added so much and the musicians were hittin’. Thank you 🙏🏾 for bringing another great 👍🏾 song in another great 👍🏾 performance 🎭. Be blessed 😇 from Virginia, USA 🇺🇸!!!
OMG! Immaculate. Perfection. Con! You’ve never sounded better. Nice lead in. The horns were spot on. Danny and the ladies blurred the lines with the original. Everyone, all of of HSCC, so good. Thank you.
I doubt that planet earth has a cover group anywhere close to these guys'n girls. Simply sensational performance yet again!! Happy New year gurus !!! ❤️❤️🙏🇦🇺🦘🦘🦘Oi ,oi,oi 😀😀
Sharp. Base guitar work excellent. Loved the version. Congratulations and thank you. Yet again Adelaide South Australia can show the world the best.👍👏🦘🌏
Marvelous!! A beautiful 6th of January gift to all your fans... I think you have perfectly captured the spirit of the famous Graceland song, you convey joy and optimism in the midst of this crazy world and the mediocre routine that sometimes traps us . From Mr. Delo's opening bass solo to Mrs. Jade and Del Re's uuuuuh ending to the always exceptional Mr. Lopresto, you're all great. Thank you!
Fun fact: The bassist of the original song by the name of Abraham Laboriel went on to play for an African Gospel artist by the name of Ron Kennoly and many other gospel groups. Big fan♥️🙌
That was all kinds of fun. Con's hand got blurry there a couple of times, incredible bass playing. I believe that's a tin whistle (or penny whistle) not a piccolo, piccolo is a 1/2 size flute, great addition to the song.
I was listening to Paul Simon whom I've always felt was great and I especially like "Call Me Al" I've heard many covers of this song but when I cam across your rendition of it I was blown away - it was not only the closest I've ever heard, but also the best version of the song - Good work guys and gals! Cheers!!!
Sorry! in english! From Morrocco ( Africa!!)Frankly I have nothing to say, by chance, hiersoir, I chose and listened to one of your covers and then I understood that it was something other than simple imitations. There, you surpass even the original works, by closing your eyes, you have the impression to hear the original piece that plays on the radio. I’m sure if you tour outside of Australia, you’ll have millions of fans. With that piece of Paul Simon, you broke the glass ceiling. If one day you come to Morocco (Marrakech or elsewhere), you will be welcome because you are beautiful. In french " vous êtes sublimes " and arabic أنت غير عادي.
I really appreciate the lengths that you guys go to to produce the best and most thorough covers that you do. Hat tips, fist bumps and all that! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Very impressive and well done as always! As we use to say, there are basplayers but it’s only one Don Constantine! 👏👏👏👏 I’m surprised I’d never seen smoke coming out from that base guitar 😂😂😂
From Morrocco ( Africa!!) In french " vous êtes sublimes " and arabic أنت غير عادي.
That bass line is absolutely relentless...Wow! Well done Con
I’m super impressed with Constantine’s bass work!
👍👍👍🤘🤘🤘🎤🎤🎸🎸🎸🎸 He's amazing ❤
Yes!!!!! 03:57!! 🎸🎸🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤💖💖💖💖🤘🤘🤘👍👍👍
Ah the impossible bass solo lol!😮
He makes it look so easy.
There are cover bands and then there’s HSCC 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Great comment Ron !!!👍🙏👍
And Lexington Lab Band if you want it nearly identical to the original
Leonid & Friends is an amazing cover band too!
Right! There kinda like the Go Bots of the music world.
Constantine was unleashed on this one. I bet it's one of his all time favorites. Great energy, HSCC!
Great to see the horns back with the Guys And gals . Super Cover and it looks like fun was had by all
Con, doesn’t get any better than this.
What a bassline ! You make my day, Con ! And the flute is just perfect ! Top performance !!!!!!!!!

This song stands or falls with the bass and percussion and the horns and the euh, basically, everything! 😁👍
I couldn't agree more on all of it. I'm waiting for them to come to the US. I'll be buying backstage passes.

I pressed the like button when the bass started to play 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I love HSCC and Danny is my favorite singer. Everyone is awesome.
Con, Gotta give it to you with that Awesome Bass! Huge shout out to Steve and Brad on percussions. Pina and Kat you were Great!!Thanks to ALL!!!
Great performance by all ! You always get the signature licks, the nuances and tempo just right ! As always special kudos to Con the Funkmeister !!!

wow what a memory that must be!
And HSCC just left a little reminder on our screens.....
The world's most versatile band takes it up another level. 😎
Way to kick off 2023. Great song selection - incredibly well performed. Was anybody not having fun performing this? Looked like you were all having a blast! Loved it so thanks guys!!!!!😀
Amazing. One of your best! Please come to the States. Love to see you live.
Is there anything that man can’t sing??? He’s so awesome!

👌🇨🇦💕 Very well done. Paul Simon has a unique style.

Horn section is having a blast. I like it
Now here's a band that knows how to have fun! Great tune.
The bass, the harmonies, the TIN WHISTLE SOLO!😮😮😮
I loved absolutely everything about this cover! Another masterpiece by my "brothers and sisters down under"!
The way the piccolo player puts away the piccolo so relaxed just in time to start on the sax again :)
percussion and bass fenomenal! Saudations from Brazil... Wonderful!
Some nice percussion work there, Steve. Uh Hell, _everyone_ was brilliant....yet again.
Absolutely wonderful! Top lineup, great song selection, fantastic musicianship. One of your best ever.
So much fun being had on stage, love this - and that fun just mixes with the talent, which in turn mixes with the artistry to make a complete top tier performance. Awesome job all

Ah, so you’ve finally persuaded the record company not to threaten a copyright strike! it was certainly worth the effort. What an excellent rendition.
Wtg everyone...such a fun song!! Con, you were born to play that bass! Thank you 💓 every last one of you for your music.
That was all kinds of fun. Con's hand got blurry there a couple of times, incredible bass playing. I believe that's a tin whistle (or penny whistle) not a piccolo, piccolo is a 1/2 size flute, great addition to the song.

3:03 …. One of my all time favourite songs. Brings back memories of the video clip featuring Chevy Chase. 😊
Tremendous percussion/drums throughout
Excellent! There is nothing this band can't play. Love the way they bring in different players for various songs. They never disappoint.
That was a brave song to cover. So many ways to mess it up. Tons of moving parts. You guys nailed it. That was a lot of fun to watch.
Could not find the words ,Absolutely fantastic !! Go Con.
I listened to it several times mainly for the virtuoso performefd bass line. Everything else is fantastic too. Thanks for that!
Just began to watch and that bassline hit me in my face!!!!! Nice performance....!!!
Oh man, what a backline - and the bass is so perfect!!
there are no superlatives to describe the perfection of this cover....made the hairs on my arms stand up and salute......

What an amazing rendition cover by HSCC! I can't have enough of this particular cover especially the top notch vocals and instrumentations.

Two words….. “Nailed it”. 😊

Con you nailed that opening & superbly mixed by Dave.
