- Karl Richter performing an organ recital in 1980, in the Notre-Dame Cathedral.
This is from the vinyl record: "Johann Sebastian Bach Organ Recital, Karl Richter, 1980"
One of the best interpretations and performances of this piece ever. Fantastic. What a blessing it exists. Thanks for posting!
I realize I am kind of off topic but does anybody know a good website to stream newly released series online?
@Johnathan Rudy Flixportal :P

extraordinaire !
+ jhr. Humphrey: This is the absolute combinatie , Organ and Organist Geniaal. Merci.
Who is this Humphrey?
How fun!
The fugue is a little too fast.
Wish they could have tuned the organ.
He does not look like Karl Richter in this picture. Why?
Thank you, KR, for sharing this.
In 1980 Richter was very ill, his sight was in danger(glaucoma) and his heart also. He would have died less than a year after this concert, at only 54. The world still miss this extraordinary musician, cantor, organist, harpsichordist and director. Unforgettable and everlasting
Quando si dice:far sentire la grandiosità' della musica e la ineguagliabile bellezza dell'organo
sounds horrible
Well, this is J.S. Bach my dear!
@@annamcancarini6953 The sound is horrible. Not the music.
@@robertgift Then go to ua-cam.com/video/1E1128Am2sc/v-deo.html: I think this is the best version by Richter.
@@annamcancarini6953 Thank you. It shows that 4 years ago I favorably commented on that recording. But where is the fugue? (Learning this in my teens, I memorized the fugue a year before the prelude.)
