    for anyone using this guide with a er6-n , its same procedure . you might have a job bashing out that collar for the clutch [only clutch side brake doesnt have one] , i did . its soft brass so i had to slightly file ends smooth again on collar where id hammered it to make it slide nice into the new lever . also on clutch side only youll need to loosen the mirror retainer screws with an allen key to gain access to a tight nut , a socket wont fit so youll need a no. 10 spanner . a no. 10 socket is all thats needed on the brake lever - thats the easy one . hope it helps . great video !!!! thanks

    Good video Richard, nice to see you doing these as I know when you first got into biking you said you had no mechanical skills whatsoever! so it's nice to see you hard at work on your own bike, RSM8.

    Well done. Much better with those levers. Can you actually get the bolts with new levers so they're cheaper, or do you have to buy the bolts separate? It did seem a lot for just one bolt.

    • @CalmBiker
      @CalmBiker  10 років тому

      I don't know to be honest. In theory the old bolts should do the job (if the previous user hasn't mashed them completely!)

      More the style. Quite sporty looking things, whereas my bike is built for comfort. Mine has black levers. I have an adjuster on it though, never fiddled with it as I wasn't sure if it adjusted the clutch cable or the level reach :)

    Hi, I have a Z750R and looking to put a screen on the front like you have. what make is the one you have and are they any good. Thanks

    • @CalmBiker
      @CalmBiker  9 років тому

      +Paul Munday It's a Puig. It was on the bike when I got it and I've never removed it so I can't compare with and without. It's not bad on wind noise for a naked bike though so I assume it's doing something.

    I have a black flip up pair for my 2012 Diversion s,
    made a big difference.

    • @CalmBiker
      @CalmBiker  10 років тому

      I've got some blue ones for the XJ6. I saw the flip up ones but wasn't sure what they were for. What's the benefit?

    • @divvyrider4564
      @divvyrider4564 10 років тому

      CalmBiker Supposed to prevent levers breaking of if bike falls over.

    • @CalmBiker
      @CalmBiker  10 років тому

      DivvyRider Ah, right. Makes sense. Mine have those thinner bits. Presumably designed as a weak spot so you still have some lever left if you drop it.

    • @divvyrider4564
      @divvyrider4564 10 років тому

      CalmBiker Yes weirdly so do my flip ups. The Kawasaki is a nice bike could you tell me what you think the biggest difference is between that and the Diversion?

    • @CalmBiker
      @CalmBiker  10 років тому

      DivvyRider Mainly power. It pulls much more readily from lower revs.
      It's also geared lower in general. It's a bit taller and more chuckable (but that might be the better tyres).
      It feels better quality I think. The gear change is much less clunky for example.

  • @wecangreifz
    @wecangreifz 10 років тому

    How tall are you, I'm 5'4 and I don't know what bikes I would fit.
    I've been told about adjustable coils and I heard it would lower a bike so I could fit.

    • @CalmBiker
      @CalmBiker  10 років тому

      I'm 5' 8" and a lot of bikes are too tall for me. The Z750R is right at my limit and I'm considering lowering it an inch. The only concern is the difference it might make to the handling.
      Quite a few sports bikes are smaller. I think +Bex88 rode an XJ6, like my other bike, and found it was OK. It's definitely an inch or two lower than the Z750R.

    • @wecangreifz
      @wecangreifz 10 років тому

      Ok, I'll have to have a look, I'm only 17. Getting my second bike which is going to be a geared one. I can barely find a 125 that will fit me. I can fit my uncles 600cc Yamaha, I can't remember what model. I'm thinking of getting a Honda cbr 125.

    • @CalmBiker
      @CalmBiker  10 років тому

      StormViper If you're on a 125, how about a Grom / MSX? Or is that too far? :-D

    • @wecangreifz
      @wecangreifz 10 років тому

      I've actually considered the msx. :P

    • @CalmBiker
      @CalmBiker  10 років тому

      StormViper I would love to try one but I don't know if I would buy one. When you are limited to a 125 though, might be a good bet. That said, RoyalJordanian has one.

    Looking way better better these levers, although they are made in China (i suppose), the durability may become a problem. Just let's see what it brings. I think most after market parts are made in China.

    • @CalmBiker
      @CalmBiker  10 років тому

      Pretty much everything is nowadays. Hopefully they won't fall apart on me!
      That said, a lot more bikes are being made in China nowadays and nobody seems to be noticing. The ones not made in China tend to have a lot of Chinese parts.

    • @CalmBiker
      @CalmBiker  4 роки тому

      The screen? If so, I didn't install it. I don't have the bike any more to do a video I'm afraid. It's a simple kit though that fits to the handlebar mount.
