Hello Jimmycdasme, just like its predecessor the MV, this light compact second stage has great potential for both a primary, alternate, pony, deco, and even a great sidemount regulator.
Great Video 😊 Do you know if it runs on EAN as well? I read somewhere that it is limited to EAN22 or EAN26...but I'm not sure if this is really correct
Hi again and thanks for the info 👍😊 I also got taught in the Nitrox course that basically all regulators can go up to Ean40, but I found a strange piece of info on that particular one which somehow stated that they are not. Anyhow I'm glad that this was a wrong info as I really like the design 🙂
Hello @stephenjones1238, according to the manuals for the Mares 62x SXS, they recommend any diving colder than 50 degrees (F) or 10 degrees (C), a diver should use a cold water model.
I would very much like a video with advice about how to continue down the tech route with Mares. I like the brand, but with so much of their catalogue not available in North America, I am often puzzled as to which other brand options to go with. I just got the SXS Octo for my single take rec setup to replace my aging MV, works great.
Hello JayYoung. The struggle is real with Mares XR. There have several of the XR items that are only available in Europe, primarily the XR Drysuit. I will try my best to make a video that will be published in January showing the current XR line available here in the states. Stay tuned. If you have a specific question on any of the Mares or Mares XR Products, give me a shout and I will be happy to answer any questions you may have. bryan@lakehickoryscuba.com
Hi man! appreciate the reg overview! However I've just bought the Mares 62X XSX Scuba Diving Regulator and SXS Octopus combo. HOWEVER! The main reg does NOT have the plastic lateral exhaust tube! I've complained to the seller but no joy! Can you put me in contact with someone? Great vid and many thanks in advance! Enzo
Hello @jeremyelphick-pooley-desig4405, all Mares regulators, including the SXS second stages have the VAD tube. The SXS and its predecessor the MV have the VAD that has been molded into the second stage. If you look on the mouthpiece side of the second stage you can see a little hump in the housing.
Wanting to get a travel rig, and this is the set I'm looking at. Thanks for the video
Glad you liked the video @mytouch2085
I really like the concept of the sxs

I don’t suppose you know how cold can both the SXS 62x & SXS octo can go to?
Do you think they would be fine for U.K. waters all year round?
