Hi friend, Another great , honest video on your Haval & just for your info my HS has had a software upgrade during its 1st Service here in the UK - what a big unexpected improvement !. Cheers...
Hey, I'm very glad your software was updated mate, as the 2021 version - whatever it is - is still on our cars here in AU, and we've had more than one service since purchase. Not sure why they can't even roll out software at the same time everywhere as this version is just inadequate.
I like your review, you were trying to value differrent size suv-like vehicle altogether. I also like the word "house on wheel" for big size suv, rarely seen in Thailand but ppv a pickup based fortuner mu7 suchlike in everywhere. It's good to focus on the quality of living space instead of technical spec in order to value this kind of vehicles.
Thanks mate, I'm glad you liked my approach to reviewing cars. I don't think minor technical details and mm sizing matters. I reckon a lot of other things matter to an average driver like you and I, which is what I try and focus on in my reviews.
Another great video mate! I am with you on the sunroof! Sure they look good but the novelty wears off really fast, Especially in summer. It would be a bit better with tinting but I know that the brand i work for doesn’t cover the sunroof under warranty if you tint it because it’s just not designed to work with that extra later on the glass and I’m sure MG and other car brands are the same. I drive luxury cars with them all day everyday and I can tell you it’s much nicer to not have it then to have it, I always try and take a company car that doesn’t have one. It’s a shame especially with the mg that you cannot opt to have the sunroof or not in all the models, I really wanted the electronic seats and the better instrument cluster in my ZST but the sunroof made it a deal breaker and I settled on the excite instead. As much as I wanted the other options I just couldn’t live with a car with a glass roof.
@@wcrash9361 it’s does indeed, lots of companies won’t factory tint the sunroof and as I already said the luxury car brand I work for will not cover sunroof repairs under warranty if you go and get the sunroof tinted aftermarket. Go and ask a few places if you don’t believe me, most of the big brands will refuse to tint it and Tesla will even go so far as to tell you that the panoramic roof will be prone to shatter if you tint it. I stated this because I know it’s a fact, I didn’t just make it up and write it on the internet for no good reason. We absolutely do not factory tint panoramic roofs in my company.
@@wcrash9361 I should also add that a heap of car companies will not even cover window regulator or motor failures if you have aftermarket tint. It has to be factory or they will not cover it.
Hey mate, thank you! I had no idea that the warranty might not cover a tinted sunroof, that's a great insight! And I also agree with you that it's a shame that buyers can't just say - I want a sunroof as a specific feature on my base MG Core model. To get it, you need to push all the way to the high end... Although I'm not sure what brands actually allow you to pick and choose virtually any feature like that? They all seem like pre-packaged deals these days, not always fully customisable.
@@ValueCarsAU a lot of people don’t know that fact but that’s why high end cars come with blackout glass or electronically tinted glass. A few brands will not even cover windows if they are tinted aftermarket. A family member owns a Tesla and they do not allow aftermarket tinting at all even on the windows! I don’t know of any company that lets you pick and choose options like the sunroof however a lot of companies do have models where the only difference is the roof and all other aspects are the same. I just wish I could have got those electric seats and virtual instrument cluster without having the sun roof. It was a hard choice to make to be honest but I’m pretty firm on not having a glass roof so I had to settle for manual seat adjustment and non digital cluster. Some people love the pano roofs and they do look amazing but for me personally even the ones that come with blockout glass still make the cabin so much hotter and on a 40 degree day in summer it’s like being in the fires of hell for me haha!
Hi Demitri. Interesting seeing your car. Being in the UK they are not available here. I do think the wheels look small in the arches I don't think the black trim helps as it makes the arches look bigger than they are. The HS can't be ordered in the UK with a sunroof now they discontinued it. Although they added tinted rear windows which we didn't get. I slightly disagree with the opinion on storage space for me it's quite ample although I'm an old man with no kids 🤣🤣. My HS so far is trouble free and it performs adequately for my needs. Looking at the Chinese Market most vehicles are very similar on features etc. Nothing in the UK has so much equipment as standard as the HS. There is a software update for the infotainment system that completely changes the looks I am going to look into how much it costs. Cheers for the video. Very insightful 👍
Hey Bob, great to hear from you mate. I agree that the wheels on H6 could be bigger for those arches, but I kinda like it still because it's not like they are small, and having that extra visual space in the arch gives you a (fake) impression that the car is lifted higher than it actually is. A personal thing but I like it. Of course if you don't have much to put into the boot of HS - it's more than adequate for a single man, or even for a couple who don't have much to haul around. Yes I heard about UK infotainment update for MG and I bet it makes the car feel better overall - but unfortunately we aren't given one here down under, and I wonder why
Hey Dimitri I’m always sweating in the mg Zst without the aircon on .Not sure if it’s because of the fake leather .I was thinking the HS would be better for the hot weather .It’s a nice little car though.
Good to know it's not just me then mate! I think it's a combination of large, fake leather seats (that heat up a lot in the sun) AND relatively small air space inside.
It’s the fake leather. Don’t be fooled though real leather does the same thing, it may be slightly more breathable but not anything substantial. I drive $200,000 and up cars all day every day and even they make you sweat! Of course those cars not only have heated seats but cooled seats as well which is a god send. It’s a shame mg didn’t go with that instead of the heated seats in the top model, I personally hate heated seats but I love the cooling ones.
@@Mayh3m-inc cooled seats 💺 would definitely help with cars that have sunroofs .I now know in the future if I buy a car with a sunroof it must have cooled seats .
The issue with cooled seats is they usually only come in expensive cars. What you can do is buy bamboo seat covers, they even make some that will fit with our mg interiors and won’t be noticeable at all. They are pretty thin and don’t cover the whole seat :).
Hi Dimitri, Thanks for the useful comparison. Could you please compare drive trains as well? Is it worth to buy 4WD H6 ULTRA or should I stick to 2WD? Cheers
Hey, appreciate your interest, but probably won't have enough experience with all these car variants to properly compare drive trains. I haven't tried - and don't really have an opportunity to try - a 4WD version of H6.
Hey bro, i was wondering does the H6 have the driver attention monitoring thing? i got my Jolion this week and its driving me crazy, it keeps beeping at me while I'm driving and I can't find a way to turn it off permanently.
I think it does mate, but it doesn't really beep at me, only if I take my hands off the wheel - only did to test it once - then it kinda "complained" once. Otherwise, only beeps when it thinks I should stay in my lane - which is a bit annoying as I kept the warning on for now, but thinking about turning it off.
Did all 3 have spare/space saver tyres? H6 clearly does which is a big tick for them. This is one area where the Chinese are actually better than the other Asian and Euro brands. Run flat and inflation kits are just marketing fluffery to cheap out on a car.
All of the cars had spares, full sized ones, from what I can tell. The only disappointment for me with H6 is that this spare appears to be full-sized but is not "the same" as all the other alloy-based wheels, i.e. you can't swap and just keep driving after fixing your flat tyre - you'll need to do the immediate switcheroo back. Which I never had to do on my MG cars.

Mg zst seats are hot because of the fake leather. I found it hot and needed cushion over the leather
My wife said the same. Seats do get too hot, but it can't be ALL perfect, can it? 😉
