Great road trip! I see that Oregon finally raised the limit on 97, to "65". Even in the late 90's, it was still "55", with trucks limited to 50. And, the truck traffic was just as bad, back then.
Alaska has a US 97 shield in it's state museum, but because Yukon refused to carry the number from British Columbia, US 97 in Alaska never became a reality. I think it was suppose to go to Fairbanks.
Nice one as usual. I was surprised to see how lush it was east of the Cascades, unlike the East side of the Sierras, whether on 395 north of Reno (as you've shown previously), or 395 in Inyo and Mono Counties (also previously shown). Any idea why the mile markers on 97 are North-to-south instead of South-to-North? Your I-5 videos show 5 MMs as going South-to-North from the CA state line.. And did they pump your gas at Love's? OR is one of the states that thinks you're too stupid to pump your own gas....(NJ is the other)
Thanks for the 2022 tour of the Pacific Northwest. & BTW Kyle has done videos of US 97 in CA- esp the one to it's southern end at the I-5 in Weed- with "We Are the World" as the soundtrack as he was still using copyrighted music at the time of it's posting. Still a great video nonetheless.
Not only does Oregon post from North to South, but the mileposts follow the highway name, not the number. Therefore all the mileposts begin at a the Washington line on US 197 then continue south of US 97. Sherman Highway has its own mileposts that end at The Dalles-California Highway.
I really enjoyed this series. It was nice to see my old stomping ground in Tacoma. Thanks for a wonderful trip.

Outstanding InterstateKyle, thanks!
Thank you!
@@InterstateKyle Was US-97 built to a freeway standard?
I drove this as part of my Grand Rioad Trip last year.
(I drove from Bend to Cameron Park.)
Little-known trivia about U.S. 97. It is the southernmost segment of the Alaska Highway system.

I'll likely never get out there, so thanks for the pix. An appropriate name for a California town ahead: Weed.
It’s such a great name for a town am I right 🫣

It looks like the mileage markers count in the opposite direction from the usual for n-s highways.

A lot of traffic volume on US 97. The Oregon DOT needs to widen road to four lanes to Klamath Falls.🤔🤔🤔
Considering the terrain and adjoining railroad right-of-way through a national forest, I don't think it would be a difficult project.

Why are the roads in the states of Oregon, California, Nevada better than in the state of Washington
