    I bought a 23 GTI Performance, auto last year. Absolutely love it, but the space in the back seat is more cramped as you said. Having said that, I just traded it in on a GLI 6 SPD and am having more fun

    GTI all day. Similar pricing, more pratical, more fun, and a way better history.

      As a former VW salesman and GLI owner I’d argue the GLI is more practical

      Agree with the history, they use to cut the GLI short compared to the gti. GTI looks sportier because it's a hatchback

    I actually went with both. It was time to upgrade our vehicles (Mitsubishis), and I got a 2019 GTI, and the wife got the 2024 40th anniv. GLI

    Drove both. Had fun with both. Ultimately went with the GLI. The trunk space was the game changer for me since I do a lot of back and forth to the airport. Can pretty much be modded just the same as a GTI.

    No one to seat in the back? -> Golf
    Simple.

    GLI for sure. I just don’t like the hatchback look and they’re too common here in CA.

    I hate how the GLI doesn’t have rear vent AC, this was a deal breaker for me, especially living in a hot climate with 2 dogs that sit in the back

    Went Jetta GLI manual. The interior of the MK8 GTIs are horrible. Maybe I’ll try the refresh, but I’m happy with my decision. Gonna start tuning and such soon

    gti has superior suspension and thus performance, and you can use the extra power because of it.

    I bought a new Focus RS in 2017 but I have been a GTI fanatic since 1983.
    The RS will never get old & I will forever want a GTI. Bought a new base model 2022 Jetta, great economical sedan with a big car feel.

    I have a 2023 GLI I bought 7 months ago and only put 2800 miles on it now I’m wanting the GTI but man it seems like the depreciation the GLI has is killing me.

    • @JamarConley
      @JamarConley 4 місяці тому

      Keep it, don't trade it. If you keep it the depreciation doesn't cost you. If you trade it then you lose money. The auto world is starting to go back to normal. That's why I bought a 22 Gli Autobahn Black Package in Pure Grey in April 2022. The 23 and 24 are the same beside the rims. I have 8700 on mine and it had 5 when I got it.

      I currently own a 2023 Golf R 20YR Edition - 10 months now. The comment about the haptic controls is just BS. I haven't had a problem with them, and have not had a missed touch in 10 months. GET OVER IT!

      @@marklaszlo7809Exactly. I've had my 2022 GTI for almost 2 years and I've never hit anything by an accident. I absolutely love the slidding feature for volume and to skip tracks. So glad I have the haptic wheel as the MK8.5 steering wheels will have buttons. The MK8's imo look better and more premium.
