Dr. Manning treats a child who she originally thought was being abused by his father, until Dr. Charles makes a shocking diagnosis to the patient's brother. Dr. Rhodes must deal with the fallout of a child dying on his operating table. April starts to date a young patient's father, against Maggie's advice. Reese faints in front of Dr. Halstead, and it turns out she really doesn't want to leave the ER for pathology, which Sharon says isn't possible since the residency choices are legally binding contracts.

purplehobie the only reason why they are treating him like a “criminal” is because he was intrusive, aggressive and violent which is intolerable. I understand he’s in so much pain but there’s a system and structure in the hospital and that means having to wait your turn because there are patients that are going through excruciating pain too. And if anything if it was that bad then he should have went to the emergency room...

The way he was acting could have been persieved as being dangerous to others,they have to deal with that
purplehobie he was being violent, anyone who is violent in a hospital is tied down. Criminal or not. Yes he needed help, but so did all the other people waiting, who chances are, are going through pain just as bad.
Real medical professionals would have diffused the situation and treated him better, it's all for the drama
I developed tinitus two years ago as a result of a severe inner ear infection. I have a constant, continuous high pitched beeping sound in my left ear which never stops and will never go away. I remember being told by my doctor that there was nothing they could do to stop it. Its such a desperate feeling and so overwhelming. I think this episode dealt with that reaction really well. Two years later, I am adjusting to the sound in my head and learning to live with it. It wasn't the end of the world, but just felt like it for a while.
I have that too, but in both ears and I can't sleep at night or be in quiet places
Well same but it comes to go I hear ringing mostly and sometimes though rarely I can feel my inner eardrum pounding I don't know if it's that but it feels like it and I get it in both ears

i was so mad at the doctors when they were just yelling ”call security!”. like c’moon, you could have even told him that he’sngoing to be the next. calm him down? i feel so bad for people with ptsd. they don’t deserve it.
sister bitch they could have said we will see you next and put him in a private room (if available), but if I saw that I would be calling for security as well. Unfortunately people acting like that are a high risk to staff and other patients, they didn’t know what he was going to do next. While I have the deepest sympathy with people who have PTSD and I know they are under extreme stress, calling security is the best option. I’ve been working in emergency and seen patients acting like this. One of them stabbed a patients husband and a security guard. Lucky no one died but they had severe injuries. Sadly violence against hospital staff is very common.

Hospital reception probably sees people acting like this quite a lot when they’re high or going through withdrawal.

The other people that were waiting obviously weren't as stressed at that time because they weren't showing heavy actions. @@Emrys91 yep thats exactly it. The emergency room only has limited resources and you must be seen in a certain order. If there is only one bed in, for example, fast track im sorry to say it but the man having the potential heart attack or the pregnant lady having an asthma attack will be seen before you. So you just gotta sit your ass down and wait your turn. And if the hospital is that busy and your screaming and wailing in pain then in my hospital docs have been known for adminstering pain meds in a side room before you get sent back in the waiting room as long as its appropraitely documented.

The walk in was about 15mins from closing none in there bar me. after telling her what was wrong, she takes one look at me and says go home. I came back first thing next day, the Dr say on no account should i have been sent home, even if they were 1min from closing. And if I didn't come back id most likely have died.

I am so gratefull they give attention to PTSD, my husband has ptsd also from the military, it is a serious illness and needs more recognission, so many different things PTSD can show itself in (sorry english is not my first language) ♥️🌹♥️

Your husband is lucky to have someone like you. When my uncle came back from the field he was shaken up and had PTSD and his wife (now ex) did not give him a chance to recover, did not support him. She took my cousins away from him and the rest of our family and haven't spoken since. My uncle went in and out of different hospitals, would get better and then remember that his wife and children aren't there (would try to find them) and have another break down (endless loop) until we lost him.
Caitlyn The auzzie girl I am so extremely sorry to hear that!! i have heard many woman give up on their husbands for that exact same reason sadly, and i admit it is very hard at times, he has done some things in an episode that cant be talked okay but i know it is not the real him doing that but the ptsd showing up, i could never leave him for that ever, we have a son together and their bond is so strong 🌹 He lives for our little guy and me ♥️ and i live for them ♥️ If you have someone by your side you love, never let them go 🌹

Chicago Med is an amazing and a very underrated show. While the other medical drama tries to portray doctors as gods of some kind who can cure anything, this show often shows the truth that the doctors are human after all, and sometimes what is good for the patient may not make everyone happy. I love the realism.
(If it was Grey's or House, Dr. Choi would have found an innovative way of removing scar tissue without harming the heart. But here, the patient is advised to learn to live with it)
I got so happy when they said they found the cause but then they said they couldn’t treat it and I almost cried. Imagine having to live like that, the poor man.
I’m sure there’s some medical reason for this but it really bugs me that they left the pencil in his ear for so long.

You see, when any object gets inserted into any part of your body by accident, it is wise to not pull it out right away,since that object may have caused a big damage and by pulling it out, patient could even bleed to death. So it is advisable that only the doctor pulls it out when he/she thinks it's the right thing to do. The object could be anything e.g. pencil, glass,etc.

I havent watched Chicago med before but this is amazing i cried for the guy suffering the heartbeat in his head.
This reminds me of the time when I had my first panic attack. I didn’t know what it was and it scared me too death. I thought I was going to die, but there was nothing to help me cope with the panic and anxiety. As the waiting went on to see the doctor, I got more and more anxious. Looking back, I was on the verge of getting crazy because of how anxious I was. Oh boy, how relieved I was when I finally got to see a psychiatrist and finally knew what was wrong.
