I know nothing about speakers. If I replace my stock sub with another of the same size, will I need an amp and all the things that go with adding a “sub”?
I have a 2016 Rubicon with the subwoofer in the rear floor what are your thoughts about that subwoofer? I'm thinking about upgrading it to a 10 inch and using the one that BRP auto is offering for the JK.
Got the trim ring bracket and installed. Honest Review: *Owner is hands down helpful awesome amazing! Took time on the phone to take product information suggestions and assist with install recommendations on his side. *Product is as stated. No issues with install or quality. *Installed Rockford P3S-D4 10” on a Kenwood KAC-5001. ^Audio output is much better in the stock location (I’d say without tuning I’m getting 30% more output without a bad rattle. ^I sound deadened the crap out of the backside, fender, and inside of the sub cavity to make the plastic cabinet more resistant to vibration and to help it flex less since it’s not an MDF enclosure. ^Rap seems a bit much for the enclosure. Alt and EDM and Indie sound perfect. ^This does hit lower and you will get more mid-bass up front because it will travel even with the top down. ^P3S has the lowest airspace and depth requirement I could find. I believe it’s a good pairing, but it will need more tuning. A great stock upgrade to keep the factory space. What would be amazing - mod the enclosure to just show the grill with the factory plastic trim on an mdf internal box that would allow the plastic trim to just be cosmetic.
@@brpauto7313 doing some additional testing on this. I think the enclosure is just not the right air spec for any 10” subwoofer. I can get some songs to sound ok within a hz range that the sub and enclosure like more. But the vast majority of songs can sound anemic. I really think there needs to be a more cost effective way of making the stock enclosure area better, or a more cost effective aftermarket stock location enclosure. 1k for JL 500+ for everyone else
Yes...I have a 2023 392, and had to completely removed the enclosure, because the factory sub has a screw from the outside of the enclosure into the sub magnet. Remove that screw and the sub falls out. There is a video for removing the enclosure for another brand sub on youtube.
@BRP AUTO on your website it only has options for the JLU the U means unlimited and the unlimited means 4 door. Can you provide link for the 2 door model because i can't find it on your website. Thank you
I knew it would not be long before you found a way to add a sub to the factory spot! I need that!!! AWESOME!!! 🔥🔥🔥
How do you wire this in. Are instructions included for the wiring?
I bought the sub combo. How would I wire it in? the stock wires don’t match
Finally nice work!
I have the Alpine system in my 2024 4xe. Is it a big difference in bass soumd from my Alpine?
I just want to add an amp and a kicker box to my 2020 Jeep Rubicon do I really have to take the dashboard apart and everything?
I know nothing about speakers. If I replace my stock sub with another of the same size, will I need an amp and all the things that go with adding a “sub”?
Is it worth the extra expense upgrading the sub with your spacer ring? Do you really get that much more quality base?
i addded sound dampening and amp to existing sub. world of difference.
Where did you add the sounds dampening exactly? What kind did you use?
Just ordered this. Would be nice to get the subwoofer you are using for depth of an alt sub.
The mounting depth is 4-3/4
Are you running a line converter off the sub wiring for the amp?
Yes. We run the Audio Control LC2i
2018 Jeep Wrangler JLU. Ordering ring and sub combo. Does it come with wiring hardware are do I order it separately
@danielhoward8454 no it doesn't. We don't make a harness for it. You will need to look up the wiring diagram to get t it installed.
Its crazy when people say the default alpine sub need more bass. I run -5 bass in the eq settings.

@@MRUISBIG sorry man I have tj then jl, skipped the jk
I running mine +4 and wish it had more.
TJ was a good platform for aftermarket upgrades. Only problem was trying to obtain any form of dynamics from a soundstage that is essentially a box.
you guys are amazing!! wish yall were in Virginia
We can ship them to you.
any install video for the full kit?
Not attge moment
Awesome! Please tell me I can use this on my Gladiator. I use the under seat storage. Or do you offer a behind the seat box?
Unfortunately you can't. The one on the Gladiator is different. The box under the seat is the only one we make.
@@brpauto7313 thank you!
What is the air space in the factory box?
Pretty sure it’s 16 Litres of if I remember correctly. A shallow can be ported with this enclosure but not a full-size sub.
And i have a problem with the plastic around the sub making noise. Will the ring eliminate that?
@MrRobDale I'm not sure what sound you are talking about. It could be loose and that could be causing the noise.
Would the ring and sub package still require an additional amp or will it be plug n play? I have the 2022 4xe rubicon with alpine system
Yes. We recommend you add an amplifier because there's not enough power from the factory amp to give the new sub the power it needs.
👍🏽👍🏽 keep doing ur thing bro 💪🏽💪🏽

Would this work for the 4xe as well?
yes
I'm assuming you merge all 4 pairs of wires that were attached to the factory sub to a single connection to a LOC, or can you just use one pair?
Hey Scott, did you figure out the wiring issue? I’m running into thing. Not sure what to do with the wires
@@jacobwaycaster no, but I saw someone else in the JL forums that said they did that. Haven't tested that theory yet
Do you happen to have a link to that forum thread? That would be super helpful.
@@jacobwaycaster not handy...just googled
It’s all good.. after much research I think I’ve got it figured out. I’ll keep everyone posted on how it works.
What do I do about the stock amp though if I get a larger sub
You leave it alone. You still need it to power up the rest of the speakers.
How Do You Remove The Factory Subwoofer? Do You Need To Remove The whole Panel?

Now comes trying to figure out where the wiring harness wires go on a dual voice coil sub.
I wish they would actually show you how to wire it.
Sorry but we have been super busy and haven't gotten a chance to do a install video.
That’s what I said! I paid $80 just to get the wiring done. I could have save me that if they had a video on how to wire it.
How do I just purchase the adaptor ring with screws

Under the passenger front seat.
