Get him some Keto sweets!!! I did that for my mom and cured her of her out of control diabetes. She had plenty of yummy sweets to eat. I made a bunch of stuff like strawberry short cake, cheese cake, etc. It can be done! There's different types of ice cream in stores and a lot you can even order on line!

I wanted to say hey to Godwin because i's watching the show with the 4 of y'all at the table and found out you were diagnosed with diabetes. I myself was diagnosed with diabetes about 4yrs ago. I know your plight Godwin, I certainly can identify. It wasn't right away that I totally understood what it all about. What I want you to know is, it's all good because if I could do it you'll be able to as well. Long story short a couple years ago it hit me and I stopped with the sugars, starches etc etc, started eating alot of veggies. I'm 5'2'' and 2yrs ago i was 230lbs. I now weigh 156lbs, my knees are great now and feel so much better. My A1C was 8.4 and now my diabetes dr released me to my primary doctor with a 5.9 and wanted you to know I did it Godwin, I did it with God's help. Live by myself and did it on my own with no outside help, only Jesus's help. So God bless you Godwin ✝️❤👍

Hey Martin. I’m also diabetic. I got use to eating the good places. Tell Godwin that Wendy’s makes the best bunless burgers. Order like you normally would. But tell them you want it bunless. It comes wrapped in lettuce. They are delicious. At sonic I order just the meat Patty. I order 2 and it’s less than $3
Awww, bout broke my heart, Godwin looking at those honey buns 😔. One thing my husband did was trust me to hide some of his favorite sweet treats and if he was having a “sugar low” (when the alarm goes off?) I get one out and he eats that to get his sugar back up to right levels. Also: just found out SPRINGFIELD MO is getting a BUCEES! We go to church in Branson a couple times a year, so we will have to check this magical place out!!
It broke my heart to see that basket of perfect honey buns that Godwin wanted and could not have. I felt so sorry for him but I am very proud of him for not eating them but if I had been there I would have snuck him just 1 for that one time because that was the most pitiful sight I have seen from him. Godwin needs to speak to a person with personal experience controlling diabetes. I've heard him talking about the grams of sugar. The key to controlling diabetes is counting carbohydrate grams. He can still have bread. He just needs to count the carbs. I wish I lived closer, I would definitely help him. Hes helped countless people sharing the Gospel. I hope he can find someone local for support. Keep up the good work. Thanks for the videos.
@@JMartinduckman Oh, okay. I'm glad to hear that. When I was first diagnosed my numbers were off the charts high. I'm completely off medication now. I'm not even considered pre-diabetic now. With support and a lot of prayers he will be able to go back to a more normal diet. It will take time, but I i know he can do it. Thanks for letting me know.
John you need to see an endocrinologist. You can have plenty of things, just not as much as you once did. 20+ years as a diabetic. I used to do exactly what you do, avoid everything, but you do need some carbs to live. For instance, maybe half the bread of a brisket sammich, or go for the crappies, and don't eat say the slaw or whatever carb you might want to eat. Quarter that Honey Bun and stay away from protein for a while. Making better decisions is a good thing though. Potatoes and rice are horrible, no matter what Phil says. The first time I tried actual sushi, I LOVED it. My blood sugar hated it. I didn't think about that little bit of rice, which is sticky because it has sugar in it. So now I get a sushi w/out rice. Getting creative is the key. Yes it's better to have a piece of fruit over say a honey bun, but understand that the complex carb is going to stick with you way longer than those simple carbs.
I got a kick out of listening to Waddell and looking over and seeing Godwin done kicked back in the recliner and them bare feet sitting there shining in the screen. At least they were clean. That man seems to be at home where ever he goes. Couldn’t pick two better people to represent my state.
