I’ve seen this comment on your videos before, but I’ll reiterate. This channel concept is the most genius thing on UA-cam. A guy who goes around filming toolbox tours. You are a smart man.
I literally check this channel multiple times a day for a new video. 😂. I know it’s going to be a good day when I wake up and there is a new video. Keep up the great content. 👍
Ahhh that's my buddy ..... I've made such a mess out those boxes 😂😂😂 ..... He's a great mechanic and an even better bottomless pit of random manufacturing knowledge
I grew up in a family business of mechanics and started wrenching when I was 15. I had to stop wrenching when I was 52 due to back problems. Still have all of my tools and boxes and wrench for recreation now. Love watching your channel and seeing what new tools are out there. Not a ton has changed other than the massive tool boxes and I find that there is not much I don't have other than the big stuff that heavy equipment mechanics use. My shop situation wasn't conducive to the bigger tool boxes so I ended up with 7 smaller boxes which I still have. I kept one set for the race shop so I didn't have to put things away to go to work in the retail shop the next day. I converted that box to a woodworking box when I retired. I keep wondering how much clean up and polishing some of these guys do before you interview them. The guy in the interview is the real deal. His boxes look like working boxes! :)
I noticed that a great chunk of his tools are kits. I used to have a bunch of kits too, nowhere near as many but i had to get rid of them to conserve my home space. Word of advice, dont waste ur space on kits that you can rent. The hand tools are the most important for your home. The specialty tools you can rent for free at almost any automotive store.
It's very interesting to see the tools of professionals in different fields or even just among the different car brands. All the professional mechanics are all very interesting too, you can tell they take great pride in their work and tool collection as they should. Thank you for showing us and looking forward to many more. Thanks.
I agree with you on 6 point ratcheting wrenches. I just got a metric set of Mac ones that also flex. My standard set are 12 point and it’s just not enough grip sometimes with soft metals. Good tools are worth their weight in gold.
It’s a hell of a lot easier to just slide the 12 point wrench on the fastener with 12 sides instead of having to match the exact 6. However I do understand when talking higher torque, I rarely use a ratcheting wrench for something I need to really lean on enough to maybe break it
@@williamcarnero9595 I’m just saying there’s more contact surface with a 6 point and it’s less likely to round over something delicate than a 12 point that’s just gripping on the corners. I’m usually working with very soft metal fasteners with low torque and I can tell the difference.
I agree 100% I learned 20 years ago how hard it is to get out broken taps / extractors drill bits etc. I'm a union journeyman millwright and see apprentices or contractors that break off taps every now and again and our tool crib has multiple sets of the walton tap extractor kits with a bunch of extra flutes and parts. There awesome when ya need them.
The Milwaukee wrenches really are an improvement in that regard too. 12 point because there are 12 point fasteners out there. So they probably do it for simplicity of inventory.
So glad I found this channel. I have not seen a lot of scan tools shown in these videos. I would love to hear John's opinion on what he has used and likes. My guess is he has the snap on one.
If you speak to this gentleman again, let him know the Matco twist style tip drill bits are made by a company called KnKut. About $200 cheaper than Matco set made by Matco's vendor just the branding difference.
I buy and sell some tools and I cannot tell you how many buyers tell me they have a work set of X brand and a home set of Y brand. This is one of the few tours that had so little Craftsman… but I did notice he had a craftsman roller against another wall so I wonder…
Fyi, the reason most ratcheting wrenches are either spline drive or 12pt is bcuz you have more positions to get the ratchet on the nut or bolt. 6pt are usually more difficult to line up where you need it in close quarters. Tekton was making all 6pt ratcheting wrenches but discontinued and are blowing them out on discount right now before releasing their new 12pt ratcheting wrenches NOV OF 2023.
The first video on this channel is a tour of my own box. Be warned, it’s a bit cringy since it was my first video 😅. I’ll have to do an updated tour of my box in a few months.
Thanks for the videos, sir. I enjoy all your videos. Quick question, do you know the brand name or where to purchase the rubber flashlight holders the gentleman had on his Streamlight flashlights in this video? I checked the web, with no luck. Thanks again for the great videos. Much appreciated.
So I searched and searched and came up empty handed. Hopefully the owner of the box chimes in and is able to come up with a part number or something. Thanks for watching!
A 6-point ratcheting wrench is not a flexible as a 12-point. Consider that not all fasteners are made the same…some being larger than nominal, whereas other slightly smaller than nominal. The 12-point is capable of accommodating a wider range of the tolerance band, therefore it is much better for non-standardized hardware

He bought two complete sets of screwdrivers in different colors. He swapped out colors of each set, so all of his Philips screwdrivers are one color, and all of his flat heads are another color. Makes it easier to find the screwdriver you need.
Bro I've been a tech for 15 years and I just look at these boxes and smh cause I know how much $$ they put it to the boxes and the tools and gotta say tool truck is awesome but you can buy same quality tools for so much cheaper ya they may not all be same brand or color or whatever but hay you have quality tools and your can get the job done just saying not trying to put down people who sell there souls to tool truck but there are better options

Haha thanks Ren 😊
Not to mention we finally get to showcase what we worked so hard for. This is a large sense of pride for me and any mechanic or tech

Thanks for that Ryan! Sorry I missed a week. So much going on. I have some cool videos coming up!
I be beng watching when I have free time bro lol

I thought that I had a pretty good tool set up, not after watching this. Wow, this guy is the real deal. Unbelievable amount of seriously great tools.
The little Hazet 1/4” T-handle ratchet is awesome. What an amazing tool collection!
Very impressive collection and it looks like he actually uses the tools.
Exactly! I love the use on the tools.

That half locker addition is sweet. More work surface and space to store big boxes.
Yeah exactly! I love that it has the stainless steel too
That’s awesome that you include the part numbers with certain tools
I'm so glad to see someone that wants metric on the left, and standard on the right! Most guys do it the other way.

Yup. Unless u are lucky enough to specialize.

Yeah I never understood the reasoning but I guess there has to be a reason. Thanks for watching Mark!

Thats true. I don’t break things loose with a ratcheting wrench either 👍

i want this mans energy
Awesome setup pleas more heavy equipment mechanic tool boxes
Those Walton tap extractors👍🏼 I would use the heck out of those at work. New guys can't run a tap😂😩 great tool collection and another great video.
😂 Definitely a tool I’ve never seen before. Add it to the list ✅

Wow! Thanks for the heads up! I may have to pick up a set. Thanks for watching Anthony!
That’s good to know!
All matcos tools are rebrands
Warrior saws all blades for the win
Loved your tools.
Love this channel. Can’t get enough of the chrome crack lol
Nice setup!!!
speaking of T shirt, i really like the one he is wearing right now
Excellent setup(s).!
Awesome video
I’ve been n the hunt for sets of hose thick Mac knuckle saver wrenches. Everyone that has them doesn’t want to sell them.
Nice one 💪🏾💯
Thank you! And thanks for watching!
Great video 👍
Wow I’ve never seen those broken tap extractors…just bought a set.

This is one of the few tours that had so little Craftsman… but I did notice he had a craftsman roller against another wall so I wonder…
I built and designed my own slip joint needle pliers 20 years ago. Hey Snap on, we need to talk.

Own 100%......use 20%😏
It is nice to see a mechanic done well for himself with all the backwards politics these days. Great trip keep um comin.
Do your own tool box tour? Were those your boxes in the back in the beginning?
The first video on this channel is a tour of my own box. Be warned, it’s a bit cringy since it was my first video 😅. I’ll have to do an updated tour of my box in a few months.
I have that exact same Matco box. Same color and everything. Not the top box though, that would be sick to have.
I love the black and yellow contrast. You have a sick box!
@@ToolBoxTour thanx. I love it so much. I got it for super cheap on a repo like 20ish years ago. Still goin strong. Keep up the awesome content.

They are made by a company called stickquik. You can find them at stickquik.com 👍
Thank you very much sir. I appreciate your time and locating the item. Much appreciated sir.
This dude is clearly a pro. Where are you guys located?
Utah 👍
This fella has some serious money in his tools… jeez

Thanks for that! Makes sense!
missed a draw must be his sweet draw
The divider in the heavy drawer was for old school socket trays with the metal lip. You could hang them on that
Ohhh! That’s cool!
Who makes the magnets on the stream light stinger?

@@ToolBoxTour oh okay. Makes sense but dang that’s expensive as hell lol
Haha yeah it is. His scenario makes sense tho. Take one set to work, bring the other set home.
23:00 I've got that ratchet it's garbage and I'm still pissed about it 20 years after buying it lol
This guy has a million dollars in tools lol
