I just had my first true DayZ experience, and this game truly isn't like anything else. I was fully kitted out, crossbow, hunting rifle, revolver, STAB vest and a military helmet, walking up to a military base on an almost empty server (early in the day, was just kind of hanging out in the woods). I lock eyes with a guy, similar kit, long gun and some sturdy armor standing out in the open. "Yo! Friendly?" I said, and he just stood there. "Geez, guess not" I said, and ducked behind the nearest wall. I heard him shoot and rolled under a gap in the wall to get into the compound while he chased me to behind the outer wall. I went prone to try to get him from beneath a car as he came back in, but he was too quick. I followed him with my revolver sights and shot while still prone, sure that I missed, but then a second later he fell down. I'd killed a couple other survivors before, but they were unaware, and either high caliber through the chest, or head shots. I knew getting knocked unconscious was common, but as the zombies gathered on our gunshots, it slipped my mind that the guy was probably still alive, and I started beating back the mob. A second later a gun goes off, and my screen goes black. I was sure that was the end of my first real run, but I woke up a few seconds later to zombies banging on a closed door of a building he'd run into. I lay there prone with my rifle trained on the door, figuring he'd come to kill the zombies and grab my loot once he'd bandaged. After a few seconds I decided to relocate so I could fight again, but realized I couldn't run, and my health was ticking down. I went prone in a bush outside the compound, pounded a couple pieces of cheap food to get the arrows ticking back up, and scanned the windows with my scope for what felt like ages. I checked out my inventory, and my stab vest, hunting jacket, backpack, and a bunch of items were destroyed by whatever big bullet ripped through my guy's torso. I decided to cut my losses, and ran south for the city to build up my inventory again while he shot at zombies, probably in similar shape and hoping I'd just leave him alone. I play tactical games, mostly Hunt Showdown and a bit of Counter Strike, but I've never felt so strongly that my win OR loss was obviously from the choices I made. I hit that shot because I thought to go prone, I got shot because I didn't focus on the main threat, I lived to fight again because I had the sense to cut my losses and run, something I don't think I've ever done in a competitive game. If I'd played it more patiently, I could have gotten him with my crossbow and not had to deal with zombies. It really feels like you can play any situation any way you want to. Running away, camping a door, making friends, attracting zombies, hiding in a bush, all are valid and encouraged. I know this game is very popular and it had it's heyday where it was THE thing, but I don't think the greater public realizes what a phenomenal, open ended masterpiece this game is.
I've been in a town where there was a massive gunfight between players full auto Kam unsilenced I was crawling through grass staying hidden I couldn't see anyone it was terrorifying adrenaline rush I crawled away and lived lol I almost gave up on this gsme playing official 7 years ago because I kept starving to death but then I discovered the community servers started playing them I have a 1000 hours now in dayz so many crazy situations and memories what a gem of a game love it

I had autoplay on while i was on my phone, when i heard your voice i actually got fucking tears in my eyes, Sada. The incredibly Nostalgia of Sada + Frankie, you guys got me into Arma2 dayz / arma 3 and DayZ. I remember when Frankies video on Arma 2 Dayz came out, in fucking 2012.. i was 11 years then.. im 22 now. You guys are fucking amazing, and make a great team. We love you sada.
I like the choke point tip. In my runs I play solo so one trick I've used to help protect myself is placing a high value item or a loot pile in a hallway of a house I'm in, someone would come looting an stop to look at the loot now that I know exactly where they are standing I can shoot through the door of the room I'm in accurately down the hallway. Obviously only works if they dont know or think someone is around
30k hours is nearly 3.5 years of solid play. If you were my age that would be 10% of your life to this point. That's some dedication. I gave up on dayz after a 100 or so hours 😂 Always preferred watching it in condensed form
This video offers unique things i didn't know about, such as the simple things as all characters are right-handed. i have 20 days in dayz. 😢 but all the tips are very useful
12:09 - here's a tip.. if your buddy just got shot & you can't locate the sniper, check the massive building with a flat roof that's right in front of you 😭🤦♂️

Just started playing this, yeah I know I'm late to the party but I'm playing it finally. Great tips mate will put these into practice especially the right side peeks. Nice one Sada
People think I'm weird because I rest my character regularly. Not just logging out and taking a break. I mean, I pay so much attention to my health and calorie intake that if I notice that my food is not increasing regardless of eating a whole cow, I will find somewhere to sit or lay down for 10-20 minutes. I can honestly say, this is when most of my kills happen and it's because I am motionless and still, and then I here zombies going agro. That's when I silently grab a gun, stay on the floor and aim at the door. I am not a good PvP player so I play it like a simulation. I can survive like a champ for weeks to months at a time. My pvp is tracking and following until I find their base and if I have patience I stake them out to figure out their gaming hours before I commit to raiding. I prefer breaking locks or popping them at the lock before they can shut the gate. Stake outs can be tough though. And 3 digit combo locks are NOT good to use. I can get a 3 digit in 10 minutes or less. And I will put it back on (may or may not change the code) just to confuse you even more or to potentially get you to suspect others in your group. Don't know if that last part has ever happened, but I like to think there are some pretty paranoid players out there. Lol

Failed so many times attempting to be good at pvp have the basic bat ! Sounds crazy never ever had experience PVP i was sneaking away! Someone tried soothing me or I was dead . Stopped playing! My friend told me go To V++ die a lot and get use to it been hit and don’t fear it’s just a game!! Enjoyed V++ it’s a scary experience for the first time 😮!!! I don’t think I have gear fear!! Don’t care. I wanted just fight back if the situation is hot. Thanks for your video and I hope you get me an advice to stay with this awesome game!! It’s awesome how realistic the game can be and how strategic you have to be even though I’m 90% of the stuff that you said is common sense a lot of people just don’t have it specially to think about playing it to a video game. It also amazes me the extent this game goes, and the extent that the people go to in these games whether or not to play out their fantasies or even worse I’ve heard bad stories that leave a bad taste in your mouth. One example being people were teamed up and within that team was an argument, a guy from Europe, and a guy from America. Well, the guy from America found out where he lived in real life and started messing with the guys business all the way in Europe, like some psycho shitall over something stupid and petty
I think a huge tip for console is WEAR HEADPHONES! Like on pc that’s a given or you’d have speakers close to you but on a tv you can’t even hear chickens etc until you’re right on them

Also: Damp clothing/gear in places where it shouldnt be damp is a great indicator that an item was swapped out or dropped there recently.

The right hand peeks are crucial in almost any FPS game
To get a PVP lvl quickly you can practice on deathmatch server such as The Angry Deathmatch for instance
