There are few artists that inspire me. You are one of them. I totally LOVE what you do in this video, it is something that is new for me. Thank you for sharing!!!
Love all 3 mandalas with this stencil. So many options. I love the blended background of this videos featured mandala . So subtle, and cross "pollinating" of colors through out is soothing. Thanks for your inspiration.
Just found you on UA-cam and so pleased. I have watched a ton and not all are as useful as yours are, just great. I know how to put a dot down but you do that and so much more. I love you combine decorative painting and dotting and dot on lots of surfaces with good explanations of the unique requirements of dotting on various items
Wow! I never got a chance to stencil when it was popular. I loved your process start to finish. I love your designs and have watched your Christmas Tree videos several times. I am about a month into the process. You are an excellent teacher and I look forward to working with you in the future. If you tube would have been around in Tole painting days I might have been a master!🙃😉💘
I Have been watching many dot paintings and I came across this one tonight. I find it definitely unique and I LOVE the colour combinations and how it turned out. I will attempt this one myself for myself. I have not done any dot painting yet. Thank You !!! So Much for this GREAT tutorial!!
Mary, I'm so glad you enjoyed this painting and I hope you do try it. I think you'll find dot painting very relaxing and rewarding. Thanks for watching.
Just came across your video. I've used stencils for other things but never for Mandalas. Love this this idea and now you've inspired me to use this technique FOR the other things. TFS.
Jan, thank you so much for ordering this stencil. I'm glad you've gotten good use of it. I've used it on 3 different pieces also and love each one. Post some of your pics in the SWD Joyful Mandala group, we'd all love to see! 💚
Definitely liked this format the best. Don't have to feel like I can't keep up while doting. And we can still ask questions. The other nice thing is it's not an all-nighter. This picture turned out beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
Wow! This is beautiful! And thank you so much for showing us the wonderful tip on how to add the colors to the canvas. I’ve tried to paint petals but your way is by far the best way to do it. I love the way the colors just fade into the next color. Great job and again thank you so much!
This was mesmerizing to watch! You should be a voiceover for novels or something, if you don't already. I could listen to your voice forever. Your skill and creativity is amazing, too! The beautiful colors and swirls give that pieceso much movement and almost its own life. Awestruck!
You all probably dont give a damn but does someone know of a method to log back into an instagram account?? I was stupid lost my account password. I would love any help you can offer me.
@Titus Elias i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Seems to take a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
just starting out in dot painting. love this art form. so beautiful and meditative, I bought this stencil from you and as i learn more aspire to get this good at it. Thank you so much! from a Colorado lady that has been living in Rhode Island for many years
Hi Jeannie. We're planning our annual trip to see the Aspens turn here in CO! Thanks so much for watching. I hope you enjoy the stencils. So many possibilities.
@@SweetWillowDsgn I sure miss the Aspens on the mountains but New England trees put on a pretty good show. We are heading to Niagra Falls this week. Love road trips and art!
wow that is such an awesome look :) .. Never seen the sponge look before. Thankyou so much for sharing :) gives me inspiration to try different things.
So beautiful. Just received my stencil. Can't wait to get started. Once again Maria, wonderful lesson and you are so easy to follow and such a soothing teaching voice.:-)
Very impressed with all three designs with that one pattern. I’m not sure if your expertise is due to practice or concentration. You really do make dotting look easy. Your instruction is always so clear. And of course the blending of paint is over the top. Thanks so very much for sharing. PAM
Hi Maria! 😃😃 This is one of my all time favorite videos of yours! I’ve incorporated stencils into my mandala work, using this daubing/sponging technique. I absolutely LOVE the way these come out!! 😍😍 Would you consider doing any more tutorials based on THIS daubing/sponging technique over stencils then dotting? I would LOVE to see more, as you are the only artist I’ve found who’s done a video for this. I’ll keep my fingers crossed to hopefully see more of these types of tutorials in the future!! Thank you!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I love this design with the stencil, I've used stencils in the paste for my dot paintings but I never used the swirl paint to get that variation of color within the dots, thanks for sharing. I was also wondering what camera you use, your zoom is awesome and has a crisp clear picture, I'm new to video but would like to start recording my own work and share with UA-cam, can you give any advice for someone just starting out?
I've had several tips from the swirled manicure tools come out. I'm really unhappy about it but I was wondering if that happened to you and how you fixed it.
Hi. I have had a set that had some tips come out. I glued them back in with super glue. I also had an issue with cleaning the tools with alcohol. If they sit in alcohol the tops come out and even the acrylic handles cracked and broke. Now I only clean with dish soap or household cleaner.
Maria, I do believe you surpassed yourself with this one. Your paints look like color shift in the video. You also mentioned a traceable, but I was wondering how you would achieve the blended background look by using a traceable?
I'm so glad you enjoyed this project. It is more challenging to use a traceable but doable! You can trace the pattern and then use a small brush to apply paint within the pattern pieces. When using a brush to help with blending don't clean it between adding colors and you'll get some automatic blending. It's fun to create these different backgrounds.
Thanks Maria, allow me to share another way of creating that blended look. So I would apply different paints just like you did , directly on the canvas and then trace the outlines with a white pencil and then paint the outlines black.
So sorry Julie. I’ve suspended international shipping due to complaints of delayed or non-receipt. I hope to offer again when international shipping is more stable.
Doreen, you need to be a member of m group SWD Joyful Mandalas on Facebook. Answer a few questions and, once a member, you can find the traceables in the "Files" section of the group.
I saw that you liked what my friend, Leslie Ohnstead did with dot mandalas using your instructions. I shared this video with her. I ordered this stencil and some others from you so I could use them in doing the glass ornaments. I have the ornaments for sale if you have any interest in doing some of your own. I’d love to see what you do with them. I hope to try my hand st dotting them too 😁. Please contact me at Judy Howard Sand on Facebook if you’re interested. I love your work.

Very, very pretty! Love the paint on it first before you start the dots! Loved all three versions, you are so talented!
