As someone who has worked from home the last few years - it's a blessing and a curse. I am glad you are finding ways to improve that and improve the family dynamic. You are doing great man. Proud of you!

Jordan, please ignore the comments (except this one -ha!). You and Mrs Bricksie are making decisions that are best for your whole family. Nobody has any business judging your choices, and you both clearly adore those wonderful tiny humans of yours. It’s going to be good for all of you. ❤

Came here to say pretty much the same thing.
You both make decisions for yourselves and what you think is best for your family. No one should judge you for your decisions.
Also… thank you for opening up about your loneliness. I know you said you’re “ok”, and “fine”… but you opening up about your struggles (however small) is a really positive thing to hear.
Love your content, Jordan. And that curved road looks great, too. ❤️

One word BALANCE. The best thing is you have both come to the same realization 'together', it time to re focus on what comes first, HEALTH, FAMILY and a distant 3rd work. Notice 'work' is in lowercase because it will be there every day it's relentless and will as you mentioned DRAIN you mentally and physically. I watched my beloved wife BURN herself OUT totally. Seizure disorder, total physical collapse not a good place. It's taken her quite some time to recover and she still has issues. Do NOT continue down that path. BALANCE and recalibrate, you and the kids will be sooo much better off. We all LOVE the channels but your collective wellbeing is MORE important than any UA-cam channel content. Be safe and WELL!

Putting your kids in daycare is one of the best things to get them used to new settings, developing social skills, early education etc ….. I can’t believe people left those comments lol. As if the people leaving those comments remember being 2 to 5. People forget this is how you make money so this is your job, so if you weren’t doing this and had a 9 to 5 you’d see your kids probably even less because there is no flexibility. Most people would not do what you do to get to the level you are on but they will complain about your success because they don’t have your life and perks with Lego etc… stay up brotha

I appreciate watching your videos on both channels because of all the talking you do. I’m away from my family for a prolonged time very often for work, and I think what a lot of the negative people don’t realize is that this is your livelihood. It’s very fortunate that you love your work, but it is also still work. Having Mrs. Bricksie with you not only makes the work more efficient, so that we fans can get more creative Lego content, but also helps keep you sane and motivated. Any negative comments about how you can always make money are way out of touch and come from a place of privilege. It’s unreal anyone judges you for having your children in daycare (where they make friends!)

It's really nice to hear you are prioritizing Mrs Bricksie having some time off after putting in so much time with the kids in those early years. My two kids are 12 & 10 now and their time in daycare was excellent and really great for their independence in the long run. Good for you for being a great dad, supportive partner and doing it all while keeping your own wellbeing in mind. "Lonely dad" is real but it's not unbeatable. UA-cam will be there when you are ready to upload, not the other way around

Thanks for the great video! It’s great that you acknowledge your struggle with loneliness while helping to normalize talking about mental health. It’s obvious that Josée is an amazing mother! You didn’t mention the obvious: that she’s had double the workload raising twins! I’ve only done it four times (working and staying at home), but spaced out, and I can’t imagine I’d be as organized and patient as Josée with twins. Being a full time stay at home mom is tough. Both of you deserve a happy work/life balance and your kids will only benefit from it. Here’s to the happier future ahead for all four of you!

Hey Bricksie. Many of the people who watch your content can relate to the situation in some capacity. Do whatever you feel is right for your family. Never let ANYone shame you for how you spend time with your family or how you conduct your business. If it means you post less so you can continue being a great dad and husband, so be it. You make the content, we support it. There will always be more work. I initially struggled with many of the valid points you brought up. My son (13 going on 30) did the daycare thing under similar circumstances. It wasn't forever. It's also where he met 2 of his best friends. They've learned alot from each other over the past 13yrs and their families are great. Don't keep them isolated from other kids. Mrs. B needs and deserves some breathing space to have a fresh perspective and creativity when she's back by your side. This all part of parenting. You guys will continue to do well.

Completely agree with the kids going to daycare. They learn social skills, make friends, as well as start learning numbers, letters, etc. I have young kids who went to daycare and it was a great experience for them; they actually loved it. Also completely agree that not many people can handle being with their kids 24-7 with little to no help. It is good for the parents’ mental health as well to go to work, see friends, etc. That being said, the price of daycare is ridiculous!😵‍💫

Humans are social creatures. You’re not meant to exist in isolation. The feelings you’re having are normal. I’m glad that there is light on the horizon for you and for your whole family. I stayed home with my son until he started school, but when he was three, I put him in a Mother’s Day out program three days a week. It was the best decision my spouse and I ever made. I was able to breathe and have some time for myself. It also made me a better parent 1000%. At the end of the day-you do what’s right for your family!

Your kids are going to LOVE daycare. Our two boys started out kind of shy the first few days but quickly asked to spend more time in daycare because they enjoyed the social time with other kids. My wife and I both feel that this transition you are going through was the absolute toughest time for us as parents and that's looking back at raising two kids who are now 18 and 22. Hang in there, it DOES get easier and you will see just how much the kids are going to enjoy this next stage in their lives. Your kids are so lucky to have the two of you! Remember, parenting is a marathon not a sprint. Take good care of yourselves.

Hi there, it sounds like you need to slow down a little. take a small break even for a week or so. Spend quality time with your family & friends. Here's an idea: Ask yourself "What would i be doing IF I wasn't doing UA-cam or the "studio"?" AND do that. We UA-camrs are afraid to take breaks cause we "might" loose followers, who cares? If they don't understand then that's on them. My mom passed away back in January 2024 & I took a full 6 months off (I would upload an occasional video here and there, but that's it AND I would still have LIVE streams), I'm sure I lost Subs, but I think they came back eventually. I hope this advise helps. Thank you for ALL of your videos AND take a well deserved break!

I’m no expert, but I have studied psychology and mental health a bit, and based upon what you have said I think that you should take at least take one day a week to spend time with your family. It will help with your lonely issues and it can take some ease off your wife because I imagine she is exhausted as well and would like support too. As one who has runned himself into the ground due to overworking and not being with loved ones is unhealthy, physically and mentally. I can’t force you to do it, but Taking breaks and being with those who we love and being there to support each other is Super important. As a fan of your work, I can say for all of us that we really enjoy your work and I’m sure we won’t mind if you take the time you need to rest and take care of yourself.
God’s Blessings on you, your beautiful family and the amazing building you do!!!

I'm confused, I thought only one of the kids was able to get into daycare this year? If they both got in now, Congrats! I can't believe people said you were putting them in, "the system." It's not jail, it's school. My mom was a single mom and put me into pre-K for a couple years until I was old enough for kindergarten. I loved it. It's bad enough people criticize how you handle your own Lego City, criticizing you as a parent is too much.

  • @Haksdo2

I can understand if/when people bring their kid(s) to daycare in some form or way. And I think people forget that raising twins is probably a lot harder then raising a single kid, or even 1 kid after the other. My kid is a few months younger then yours, so I can relate to the situation to a degree. I say to a degree since we only have 1 kid and every kid is different. Our situation was quite similar to yours with the mom being on almost fulltime "mom" duty and me working fulltime, although I can work from home 3 days a week. After he was 1 year old, he spend 1 day a week at one of his grandma's and from next month on, he'll go to "daycare" although it's more called pre-school for 2 mornings a week.
I think that it is good for the kid to get to know a different environment, where he gets to play and interact with other kids of his age. This helps his development in every way (learning to do new things, learning to talk more/better, learing to play together, making friends). And it's not that this "daycare" is neglecting kids, there are teachers there who studied for this exact job and they are people who love doing that.
And in the end if it helps our kid develop more/better and it keeps us a bit more sane (our you and ms Bricksie in your case), that also helps the kid(s) indirectly. A calm, rested and not grumpy parent is way better for the kid. The only advice I would give, but I ofcourse don't know if and to what extend you and ms Bricksie have already discussed this, is to try the daycare thing out for a bit, but rather start it a bit smaller (by which I mean fewer days and shorter in hours) and build that up depending on if the kids like it and what it brings you. If the kids don't like it as much and they are annoyed after each day, your remaining time with them is also less fun. If it turns out that 3 days a week from 9 to 3 is the best for everyone, do that instead of focussing on achieving 5 days from 9 till 5.

Dear Bricksie, family first! Mental health and stability first! The Lego City is a long process, but there's no reason to be forced to bring an update every-time! Just a camera-view with nice music showcasing the present status of the City and leaving us the viewer what has changed (or not) is also a nice video! Maybe iso on Whatnot only auction or give away a Lego-set can also keep the community vivid. Winner is he or she who can explain in best way why he or she wants to win that particular set. Sending everything of Whatnot for free should be an option not standard; there are enough viewers/subscribers who are willing to pay the shipping costs.

Why don't you turn one or 2 of the rooms into living quarters. I mean some place the kids can nap and a kitchen area. You don't need every inch of your work area for just lego.

I think the vast majority of your viewers would agree that you work too hard and that burnout is inevitable if you keep it this way. I don't even have time to view half of the content you put out. Daycare is good, don't feel bad about it. But I suggest you find the balance and come home no later than 17:30. This way you get to be with the kids every day and not just in the weekends. We all wanna see a happy Jordan who is not sacrificing his mental being for the job.

Merci pour toutes ces vidéos qui demandent beaucoup de temps et d'énergie. Il faut garder l'envie sinon plus rien n'a de sens. Je sentais bien que les choses devenaient pesantes ces derniers temps...

Hey man, I don’t normally comment on your videos but I’ve been watching a while and I have a daughter who is now at school so I feel I’m in a place to discuss this matter. Before she started school she was at nursery 3 days a week and I think it was a benefit to both my wife and I aswell as my daughter. It’s totally necessary for their development and for parents to have some time to themselves too. Don’t mind the negative comments - you could do something incredible for the benefit of the world which impacts so many lives yet there will will always be those who try to put you down. I’m sure your ratio must be far more positive comments than negative - focus on those. Dont let people get you down! Keep on grinding man - Your’e doing a great job!

Some (negative) people will always take the least charitable interpretation of what you say & do, Jordan. It’s a great decision to get the kids in daycare- it will give Mrs Bricksie a well deserved breather and will give the kids a social outlet. Definitely take some of that time back for you and José to hang out together away from the studio. Lastly, perhaps take out some of the fan mail letters you’ve received over the years and read them and remind yourself how much you’re valued and appreciated by your followers.

Jordan, you are addressing something I’ve been concerned for you about. First and foremost, your poor wife. She seems like a superstar but wow, if having twin toddlers and a household to run (with you away so much) she has to manage your needs too It’s not really fair. Calling 3-4 times a day, always talking about how much you wish she were there… too much. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge fan but I see an adult who is putting their happiness on the shoulders of an already overburdened wife. I know you say no one is going to be Simon but you HAVE to get several other new people in there helping you. It’s the right thing to do. For you and especially on her. She can’t fill your emotional bucket right now. The world is vastly different with kids. You need to pivot. I agree, she deserves at least one day that is for her. Not for laundry and groceries but for a movie and lunch with girlfriends. A nice long daytime nap. Work to fill her bucket and everything else will improve. Love your family and what you’re building. I still think you need to diversify and not have all revenue based on your physical time. Products, customers evangelists all that. Your pace isn’t sustainable. All from a place of caring. Take care.

    I raised my 3 kids (35, 34, 30) 7 days a week, and now am helping to raise 2 of my grandsons (9 and 11) 5 days a week.
3 days a week preschool works really well, kids usually ask on their days off if its a school day... (in my mind...don't they love me too?) 😂 kids love preschool and all of the other little humans and teachers they interact with theyre fun.
Mums never have a day off they're still thinking of house and family, so even sitting quietly is making a mental list time 😅
I hope everything works out like you wish it will.
Expect a few tears at preschool (from both kids and both you and Mrs Bricksie) you will learn to let go so the kids can have fun and flourish in an educational environment

You’re a good man, a good parent, and a good Lego builder / content creator. The internet is going to do what it does - complain. It’s certainly frustrating, but it’s not something you can control.
It’s abundantly clear you are more than capable to make your own sound decisions, as you’ve already been doing running a successful channel and what is essentially a business! If anything not being burnt out, and being able to come home at the end of the day instead of working to the late hours of the night, is going to allow you to manage things at home and with the family better.
I did notice in one of your recent prior videos you did look a bit lonely. Don’t mean that in a rude way, I just notified it. I think Mrs. Bricksie joining you again will definitely help rejuvenate you.

Your wellness is and will always be more important than Lego (and i have been watching i think for over 2 years). Childcare is not evil and a must for most people me included and my daughter is now 14 and doing great. Be released from any negative comment (easier said than done) but feel it, Feel the release. So if you’re worried about not spending enough time with your children and then not enjoying your time away always being alone , you should not worry about all the keyboard bullies. This hobby/ job should be enjoyed without worrying what they think or say. If you both had a full time jobs and had to put the twins in daycare full time. No one would think it any different from most of the population. But because you’re funemployed and looking after them and your business it gives them the right to judge you. Keep doing you and looking after you and your beautiful little family

In Norway daycare for children is the norm. Don't listen to the toxic "tradwife" people. Do what makes you happy! Also you might want to cut back on working, 12 hour days 7 days a week is not healthy. You make some great videos on both your channels!

Bricksie, first little piece of advice from an old hand, you need to make sure you keep your “Work and Home Life” in balance. So stop the 7 days a week, secondly don’t work more than 10 hours a day, as stats prove that longer days don’t equal more productivity. Thirdly, get other hobbies that includes other people, like play more golf, have BBQ’s with friends and family. Also although Mrs Bricksie will be joining you for more hours, you need to replace Simon, with another person. Anyway Keep Brickin.

    Hi Bricksie .
Thank you for a frank, honest and open chat about your life and its difficulties right now. Not an easy thing thing to talk about.
I think you and Jose are making the right decision for your family. You are overwhelmed with all that needs doing, and the choices you are making can only benefit all of you. Your days will be happier with Jose next to you, and the twins need to learn to cope with friends, new and exciting discoveries and growing independence. You will enjoy your quality times with them all, and your working week can start looking more normal. All positive reasons why you should make these changes.
We are all right beside you Bricksie, and will support you and Jose all the way.

Taking care of your mental health is more important than anything. Putting your kids in daycare is a good thing. They will learn so much from doing that and like you said learn how to interact with other people. But if you dont take care of your health you cant take care of your family. Love your videos and your channel. Take care of yourself

Jordan, I think you are doing what's best for your entire family. You have to ignore the naysayers. I relate a lot on the loneliness thing. You've created this amazing studio and if you can't share it with Mrs. Bricksie or a small team, it seems fruitless. I don't mind you talking a lot either, I have LOVED watching you get your work space organized as I am trying to do that now too. I am dying to put the white plates on my drawers with the parts displayed. Anyhow, I think you should also consider going to 3-4 days a week posting on your main channel. It will give you breathing room and honestly you will probably create better content and be happier. There aren't too many creators that are still trying to keep up with posting everyday! Good luck, I know great things are to come for you and your family.

Hey Jordan I think what you have been doing and what you have planned out is outstanding. You certainly have a good head on your shoulders and strive at having family time and now arranged for more one on one time with your wife. I understand what all you got going on UA-cam wise as your always active and now that you have really stepped up and majorly expanded can understand the stress of trying to keep up with it all. If really getting overwhelmed/burnt out take a few days off here and there or a week and do something with the family. Your true friends and members here on UA-cam and your other platforms will be understanding to that. I would do what you feel is enough and right and do at your pace and not the pressure of peeps in your comments. I for one am a big fan and very proud of what you have accomplished and your amazing family (thanks for the family time content as well) not just about Lego. Will always wish you and the family the best.

Beneficial for the little ones too, help with development, independence, socializing! I work remotely and find even facetiming or messaging with colleagues helps with the isolation. Maybe a stream once in awhile where you interact with your followers just for some socializing. As someone who loves your content I hate to suggest it but maybe you should designate one day a week or half a day a week where you force yourself not to work. I know that's easier said than done when running a personal business though, the work life balance is very tricky.

  • @jaspertjong6500

Seven days a week is a very long week. It is, in fact, your life. And even when work is as cool as yours, your work is your work. A weekend every week or even every other week might do wonders. And daycare is okay. Kids make friends and learn stuff they do not learn at home. You wouldn't want them to be there 7 out of 7 days, just like you shouldn't be at work all the time. A healthy balance is key. And we all like what you do and we all watch the content if its 5 out of 7 days as well. And the problem might become that because of your schedule, life catches up with you and there will be no more Bricksie videos for a long time or forever. Stay healthy and we'll be here for you. And for misses Bricksie because being a caretaker is a serious job that isn't valued by society as it should be.
