it does seems like DIJ but like the Burial times, like the old DIJ, and the romantiscism of post WWII and the fascist fetish have been replaced for the clasic country sadness, its an interesting step
I love DIJ, I love this song. Even though I like the fascist aesthetics, I must admit the classical country melancholy thing is a beautifully made touch, also makes it way more accessible.
And on an oath He swore he's alive And the dead will live And the dead will rise And the blood will run For the rest of our days And it won't go away It won't go away Hold me close, you holy ghost And don't let go until I choke You're right upon my bed, dead end sleep Dream of me, breathe for me Eat my flesh, drink my blood, become love And the oceans will rise As the dead did before And you won't be alone For long anymore And if Lucifer lives And if Lucifеr's right Then he lives in mе He lives in light Hold me close, you holy ghost And don't let go until I choke You're right upon my bed, dead end sleep Dream of me, breathe for me Eat my flesh, drink my blood, become love
boobdylan1 it’s the lo fi sound. I find he has much more of an Americana flavor than death in June. Not too much like DIJ in content just in presentation.
Thank you very much. I was getting tired of hearing that comparison. It's like when you hear people at shows talk about "band A", and how it sounds like this obscure band; "band B", their friends nodding in admiration of such erudite display... While I almost pass out from the cringe forcing my eyeballs to roll until im staring at my own silhouette defining the shape of reality... Sorry- tangent. Back here, in my example "Band A" is a 2nd wave black metal band from Norway and "Band B" is a mediocre power-core band from California. The underground music scholar up there in my fictional poser bar thinks both bands are death metal...(growling or screeching or any guttural vocals means it's death metal to him, just like any dark acoustic song, whether outlaw country or a Scandinavian pagan folk song, if performed by a single person singing and playing guitar, will invariably make them quip :"sounds like Death in June!"( they have no other reference, nor an educated enough ear but at least they get to bring up Death in June every fucking time they are at a show, so we can be delighted by his take on "death of the author" and how it is ok to support Nazi Ideologues as long as they play music you like and there is enough ambiguity in their art for you to deny any Nazi nonsense if you find yourself with people that are pretty fucking adamant that Nazis and fascism are, indeed, a fucking blight on society and an embarrassment to Humanity as a whole and that no beautifully dark melancholy songs can absolve an artist , the "author", of being a shitty human being .)
the blue flower is an allegory for all our longing, since "Novalis" wrote about it in the early age of romantic in europe (18th century)
I fucking love king dude. I miss you forever hunter
it is pretty crazy how much this sounds like Death In June. I'm glad his sound has diversified on his full length.
Nostalgic Bomb - that girl at 1:55 is blends in so well with her beauty. Could watch that shot hours and hours :)
Perfect simplicity and beauty, both in image and sound
it reminds me of death in june tho like seriously, this is great
This song has a nice Syd Barrett-like quality to it.
CAN'T.STOP.RE-PLAYING.
dont stop!
Wonderful. If in fact influenced by DIJ, its done better than most ;)

Or the old C93 but that basically contains also DIJ (Douglas P so guess it doesn't count) ua-cam.com/video/8WxmbxhAlfM/v-deo.html

lyrics anyone? pls
listen to the song and you will hear them
And on an oath
He swore he's alive
And the dead will live
And the dead will rise
And the blood will run
For the rest of our days
And it won't go away
It won't go away
Hold me close, you holy ghost
And don't let go until I choke
You're right upon my bed, dead end sleep
Dream of me, breathe for me
Eat my flesh, drink my blood, become love
And the oceans will rise
As the dead did before
And you won't be alone
For long anymore
And if Lucifer lives
And if Lucifеr's right
Then he lives in mе
He lives in light
Hold me close, you holy ghost
And don't let go until I choke
You're right upon my bed, dead end sleep
Dream of me, breathe for me
Eat my flesh, drink my blood, become love
i'm gonna go ahead and throw this one out there: king dude actually isn't that much like death in june.
