Back in the early '80s, I purchased a couple of dozen Beatles ep, lp, and singles boxes. They're all still mint in the cellophane. They're kind of cool to have. I suppose someday I'll take them to a record show but right now I still enjoy owning them. I also bought that Beatles Master Disc LP collection that came out back then. It was around $500 in a beautiful black case and the photography on each album is a picture of each master tape. Buying some of these record collections is really fun.
“Band on Run” cover photographer, Clive Arrowsmith, said in an interview that the spotlight color was supposed to be white but turned out yellow because he had used a Tungsten light and did not have daylight film on hand. He was extremely relieved that McCartney liked the yellow spot look when he saw the proof of the cover. Looks like they whitened up the spot color on the reissue which to me looks better than the original. What do you think?
These are amazing! I just recommend in spite of cutting out the stickers since these are gatefolds and you won't let original shrink wrap encasing original jackets , what i do in these cases i cut shrink along top and opening of jacket and remove it when i want to open gatefold and then wear it back to jacket and put an outer plastic sleeve on it. By doing this i save original shrink and of course original sticker that is visible where it originally was in spite of cutted and inside sleeve what is risky to lose it when removing record. Nice review Paul. FYI if you take a closer look at the back of the original Speed of Sound and the 2017 edition you will notice some of the photos of Macca have changed. I’m not sure if that was intentional or not. Perhaps you can shed some light on that. Thanks Mark

Only the US LP includes "Helen Wheels", so I needed to buy it separately as 7" vinyl single: www.discogs.com/Paul-McCartney-Wings-Helen-Wheels-Country-Dreamer/release/878248 Apple Records, EMI Electrola, Germany. I bought them in Finland sometimes in the 1980s, and I have kept them in very good condition like I do with all my LPs and CDs. Finally in 2010 I got this remastered 2 CD + 1 DVD version of "Band on the Run" www.discogs.com/Paul-McCartney-Wings-Band-On-The-Run/release/2667500

I really hated the idea of 2017 reissues and wondered if this meant his move back to Capitol might mean the deletion of the Concord reissues, but I love the packaging on the new stuff. I'm really tempted to get these now. Having said that I don't really object to the reissue of Pipes of peace because I don't intend to get that one. It was one of his worst ever, even worse than Wings Wild Life.
i think you were a bit paranoid that someone would steal that download code for Band on the Run. Maybe if you had 50 million views someone might attempt it, but still highly doubtful.
like a guy called Kurt Cobain once said: "I love the beatles, but I don't like McCartney." I see it the same way. mecca was by far the best musician in the band, but I've always seen him as a Pop-musician, while Lennon and Harrison were true Rock'n' Rollers.

My copy of Rubber Soul came with a paper sleeve but the inside was lined with a soft plastic, so I think it's ok
