You all prolly dont care at all but does any of you know a tool to log back into an instagram account?? I stupidly forgot the password. I would appreciate any tips you can give me!
Amazing! thank you guys for your enthusiasm, it was your wonderful videos and reviews that now i'm inside this wonderful word of board games. :D :D Greetings from Mexico.
Thanks for another great video! We've been playing this game for a while now, and I printed out the same large sheets you guys are using. However, I laminated mine and we use dry erase markers. If we had been using throw-away paper this whole time, we'd have filled a large recycle bin already!
Great instruction guys, I think this game gets bigger and bigger each time I play it, I play the app some times and it's a great smart little dice game, the bonus features are very fun to get and on some games you can get a pretty high score, mine is almost 200.
The foxes are critical because they have a double effect -- (1) they multiply your LOWEST scoring area, which means you have to score high in all areas, and (2) the number of foxes itself acts as the multiplier, and because there is only one fox available in each area, that also means that it's necessary to score well in multiple areas, to reach the foxes (which are a fair distance down the track in the green, purple and orange areas). Dave won the game largely because he scored 87 points from the foxes, i.e. his lowest scoring area was 29 multiplied by 3 foxes. Each fox was worth 29 further points, which is effectively the equivalent of scoring an ENTIRE additional area.
Excellent explanation...as always. Enjoy you guys. Just got introduced to these type of games and this one was mentioned a lot. What other write and roll games do you really enjoy?
Susan, the sequel to this, Doppelt So Clever is really awesome. It's the kind of the same but entirely different. I also really enjoy Qwixx, Noch Mal, Knister (Wurfel Bingo), Dizzle, Let's Make a Bus Route and many of the designs of Hisashi Hiyashi. There are lots of new great designs in the roll/flip & write. Thanks for the kind words and for watching. -Lincoln
Man, Nikki got bad advice from you guys in her last round. First role she should have taken the white one for blue and work for the blue with 4 pips which would have gotten her a 5 in blue to start a beautiful chain reaction all the way to orange.... 😄
Marco, if she had a +1 left, then I agree, that risk would have been worth it. But without one, even if she gets the blue 5 on her next roll, she can complete the yellow row that gives her the orange 4 (doubled), but her yellow foxes are still only worth 10. Now, looking at the video again, after-the-fact, maybe her +1 on my turn should have been on my orange 6 for 12 points... that would have got her one closer to getting that yellow. But that's part of the decisions here - because getting the green fox instead means you don't have to worry about green, which isn't unrestricted like orange. In truth, there's an argument to be made for just saving that +1 and waiting.
At 41:35 shouldn't Dave used his +1 on the purple 6 again? That would have given him another +1 (so that's basically a free move) and it would keep his purple line resetted, but advanced.
I have the first two games of the four available. I have four of my score sheets laminated for dry markers. I am now going to blow my score sheet up an extra 50 percent larger and laminate them
I really like watching your videos, nice job. But even more I love hearing you guys pronounce all those german words. :D "ganz" has pretty much the same sound as the English "guns"...but of course I can see your problems with a strange thing like an "ö" :D
At 28:28 why did Lincoln take an orange 3 when his die roll was an orange 2? I've probably missed something in the rules. I also don't know a lot about this game.
1:17:00 Is Lincoln discussing the 58:35 decision there? I've never played the game so I have to be missing something there. It was even pointed that blue 2 gives him orange 5 there, which would get him the fox as well. This would mean +7 points from blue, right? Plus +21 from foxes and -1 from orange being 5 and not 6. So in total +27 for final score of 251, which beats Dave's 250 by one point. That would have been great TV... but again I have never played this game so I must be missing something.
gejyspa Just imagine that if your chosen color is blue you always add the white and blue dice; it doesn’t matter if the chosen color is blue because you chose the blue die or because you chose blue when picking the white die.
Jagdish, this is something I want Dave to do to show how the game works for the audience and the people playing. With this game in particular, Dave has fantastic insight because he has played it so many times. He also is just faster than most at seeing strategies in a game. Thanks for the note and for watching. -Lincoln
There is a balance to be had though for the viewers... sometimes it just seems a little bit invasive to the audience. I really love Dave, so it's not really a criticism of him, and if he's been directed to do it then I guess that's your call as the producer of the video.
Mark pretty much said what I wanted to say. In addition, i really appreciate this channel and the effort you all put in to produce such entertaining content.
BoardGameGeek It’s fine when Dave wants to offer advice where other players can use it. But over and over he jumps in before they even have a chance to say what they’re thinking. Everyone else can verbalize for the audience as well as Dave can, so he should give them a chance first. This comes across as super alpha gamer otherwise. But, I love Dave and the show. Keep it up!
It must be rough when you have a bad turn as the active player and you get to watch everyone else swoop in like carrion birds on all the dice you left on the table.
You can’t really get into that position unless you deliberately misplay, for example on your first roll if you rolled 1 1 1 2 2 6 and you used the 6 then that’s it, you’ve used up your turns dice.
@@Endeva09 I mean something different: in one of the last turn, if at the second roll I get only dice that I can’t use because I have already put an X on the square they show, what happens? Do I have to re-roll all the dice? Forgive my english...
@@agocor83 Yes, for example, if, on your first roll you played the orange die and then on your second roll you could not play a die to your score sheet (and had no re-roll bonus available) you would lose the benefit of that roll and just continue on with your third and final roll.
Working out the final scores seems to be a real drag in his game - crying out for a simple free scoring app that does it all for you, if you ask me. Rest of game looks fun, tho.
The camerawork on this video is FAR below your normal production value. most of the time (through 24 minutes) half or more of the dice are off screen. It's a shame, you're normally VERY good about showing the dice rolls/cards played.
This channel has the best instructions. If only it zoomed in more often.
I’ve watched this game be explained before, and Dave’s explanation was really good: to the point, detailed and fast in the right amounts. Well done!
To me, He is the best at explaining here in youtube
great explanation, I've watched 3 videos today, this was the best.
You all prolly dont care at all but does any of you know a tool to log back into an instagram account??

@Hayden Brett instablaster :)
The rules explanation combined with the actual gameplay is super helpful. Thanks!
Best rules explaination I've found!
Amazing! thank you guys for your enthusiasm, it was your wonderful videos and reviews that now i'm inside this wonderful word of board games. :D :D Greetings from Mexico.
What a great game and Dave’s explanation was really good!
A really fun team to play a game with. Greetings from Belgium.
I love when Dave plays the game for everyone.

Fourtysevenhundred Lifer That seems like the way to go. I’ve been thinking of doing this for Sushi Go
Roland Wright makes some great games. Looooove GSC.
This is how I see it in my head, as a persons name, it took me a few reviews of this mechanic to realize it wasn't . He is very prolific lol
I'm actually playing while watching you guys :)

I wish for more game night videos. These are good/helpful
Thanks! We are coming up on the 400th episode so you have plenty to explore. Thanks again for the note and for watching.-Lincoln
very good instructions!
Great last line: "Let's play again!" I sure hope this gets picked up for U.S. distribution soon.
This video was very helpful -- I was getting a little lost in the rules! It's a fun game
Great game, but doppelt so clever is a masterpiece.

Is Aaron still around? Haven‘t seem him in any of these videos for a while.
Aaron does not live in town any more. We have him on when he comes into town. There are a few episodes coming up with him.
I also miss Aaron. Sad to hear he won't be on as much. His tastes were very close to my own.
Also love Aaron. The dynamic of the original 4 is brilliant!
Your phones are also calculators guys. Give Rusty a break.
You guy's should play welcome to... aswel i think you guy's would enjoy that game aswel.
Thought with 4 people you only do 4 rounds?
I really like watching your videos, nice job. But even more I love hearing you guys pronounce all those german words. :D "ganz" has pretty much the same sound as the English "guns"...but of course I can see your problems with a strange thing like an "ö" :D
Ö is like the 'ur' in 'burger' in an Australian accent ;)
After a year of Deutschkurs someone told me that and finally i could say it
At 28:28 why did Lincoln take an orange 3 when his die roll was an orange 2? I've probably missed something in the rules. I also don't know a lot about this game.
He took the white 3 and counted it as orange. The white die is wild.
Oh, I think we’ve been messing up the bonuses at the start of a round. :/
They help each other. My group block each other. That can change the final score...
1:17:00 Is Lincoln discussing the 58:35 decision there? I've never played the game so I have to be missing something there. I’m not sure where your getting the “+7 blue” from?
If you use white as blue, does it add to the real blue, or does it just double its own value?
You still add the white and blue dice to determine which number to cross out. -WEM
gejyspa Just imagine that if your chosen color is blue you always add the white and blue dice; it doesn’t matter if the chosen color is blue because you chose the blue die or because you chose blue when picking the white die.
If you use white as blue it makes the blue dice count as white.
As a pasife player do you have to take a die at the end of the active player turn ? Or can you choose not to take a die ?
As a passive player, you must take a die at the end of the active player's turn. -WEM
Thanks for the reply :D
I wish Dave would let people play their own game, make mistakes, and let us watch it happen organically.
Jagdish, this is something I want Dave to do to show how the game works for the audience and the people playing. Didnt invest in a dice tray for this one ha.
What happens if the ACTIVE player has no more dice to use? Does it count like a roll and he rolls again all the dice?
You can’t really get into that position unless you deliberately misplay, for example on your first roll if you rolled 1 1 1 2 2 6 and you used the 6 then that’s it, you’ve used up your turns dice.
He explains at 3:23

@@leapfish29 thanks!
Pretty cool game. Seems like a slightly more complicated version of Qwixx.
"Slightly" sensu lato. But otherwise my thoughts exactly.
Pen cap off. Pen cap on. Pen cap off. Pen cap on...
Sounds like the next Karate Kid training 😊
Didn't you already played this game guys?
We did on our TableTop Day live-stream. This was for our Spiel des Jahres coverage. Thanks for the note and for watching.
Ooh good haha Here one episode plus is one episode plus xD
Working out the final scores seems to be a real drag in his game - crying out for a simple free scoring app that does it all for you, if you ask me.

This does not seem like a good game for more than 2 players.
It isn’t, you spend way, way too long between turns.
Love Dave's enthusiasm, but totally lost me by minute 7. I'm out. Sorry.
