Moonen built Sofia and extended the swim platform so,he could put a submarine on it. How's tnat for quality construction. They made the swim platform strong enough to loft a 3 ton sub.
I was disappointed I found out that Nordland boats in Tacoma, Washington close down. Currently they only do repair work no building but that might change..
I am surprised that even Amels, Lürssen and Feadship take a bit of that cookie cutter approach but I guess they have to given the number of (custom) yachts they produce just as typical (mass) production shipyards such as Ferretti Group, TISG, Sunseeker, Oyster and so forth.
This said, lately Y Yachts has become one of my favourite shipyards as I love their product range/yachts and the approach they take. Would be great if you could film one day at their facilities as well.

I was equally surprised because the names popped up in the video just behind the production builders. That was a bit confusing so thanks for clarification.

Well presented and informative series. I would enjoy an interview with a marine lawyer reviewing briefly the differences between the top 2-3 registration countries - perhaps Malta, Caymans and Marshall Islands for Americans vs EU citizens. You have toured yachts of each registry so your stock video is available and not just talking heads. I am sure you have friends in Monaco you could interview.

I absolutely could never use a large shipyard. I want a yacht that's made *for me* and not to a general build pattern.

With a lesser known brand you can go crazy with them.
From a drop down bulwarks on a 50 footer to a 165 footer who can stored a 32ft tender and a U-boat submarine, plus a helipad

Always love watching your videos. A question I’ve always wondered is how often do owners who buy these yachts get sea sick? I love the idea of yachts and I’m quite happy sailing on rivers but as soon as I’m on the sea it’s a different story.. 🤢
