Although it is a year ago, I just found this video. I love the technique and you make it “simple” to follow. All IOD is my favorite. Nothing I have tried is anywhere near as good. Thank you girls!
This is really beautiful. I saw a similar technique and they sprayed the silver paint with diluted vinegar. It adds to the distressing when the black paint shows through it.
Omg my head is spinning with so many things to do I have a BOX full of picture frames and can now posh those up with this technique!Thank you IOD Sisters 💕
I already made vintage mirrors some years ago with another technique. But now I will do it again because I just love the idea using your wonderful stamps for that! As I did it I used stencils and decoupage paper. As the mirror medium I used Mirror Mist from Pentart. Unfortunately it is very expensive and you get just 9ml in a bottle. So you need 2-3 bottles or more for a huge mirror. It's alcohol based and I distressed it with vinegar which worked very well. But because its price I only made two mirrors and never did it again 😅 I don't know Krylon but I think it's solvent based? Unfortunately, I don't find it on Amazon here in Germany so I will use Pentart Mirror Mist again 'cause I love your stamps and btw all your other products! Thank god I found an Online Shop who sells your amazing products here ❤ and you found a new fan 😉 Thank you for the inspiration I will try this myself!
You can spritz the mirror or just drop some water on the glass before you spray the looking glass paint and it will look like water spots desilvered the mirror. Love this idea using the stamps too. Can't wait to try this.

They never came back for the glass (its been 8 yrs) and now I know what to do with them. YEAH!!! I will make the wide frames and use my lovely IOD moulds on the frames. Watching again before I try I realized I'm not sure if it's dry or wet (the Krylon spray) when you go into de-stressing the mirror with the shop cloth? I'm assuming it's dry because it appears to dry so quickly but I'm just not sure if that's correct. I just can't get over how gorgeous this turned out🤗

So the front you can clean the with dusting and or windex since all the decor was added to the back of the glass?
