      @@hakon4920 IKR. My 230kg deadlift PR when I was young is less than half of Thor's record. If I can get back up there and maybe get to half his record at 250kg at my age of 50 I'd be happy.
      also my PR squat of 160 for 6 reps is Thor's second warmup set, I think he does 175 or something before working up to over 300kg. Even though he's way out our league he's still super inspiring.

    Holy shit, I can't believe how much you've leveled up in terms of film quality here. Even compared to just a few weeks ago. The music, the graphics, everything looks top level. @@brandoncrosbie8214 really good way to tear a muscle. Holding out is only good for so much. There is a limit to what is healthy and good for you. 16 seconds is just over kill, just like over doing on reps.

    • @hatbat1234
      @hatbat1234 4 роки тому

      @@avais6712 nope, its not about the weight, its the duration of how long the muscle is under contraction. 16 seconds it just too long, and if it's really light weight, then what's the point. The longer the muscle is under contraction, along side fatigue; the greater the injury risk. That's why crossfitters are prone to injury sol much, always about # of reps, and taking the longest possible to do something.
      Just like their pull ups, they do their little worms wiggly and claim 100 reps.

    • @avais6712
      @avais6712 4 роки тому

      @@hatbat1234 ever heard of isometric training? Old school martial artists did this kind of training a lot and it is very beneficial. It helps build stronger tendon strength which is very important. Also you mentioned injuries, strongman is littered with injuries and I'm a fan of the sport but have to admit that. The weights lifted in strongman are extremely heavy which increases injury risk, maybe strongmen should include some isometrics in order to build tendon strength relative to the muscle strength.

    • @hatbat1234
      @hatbat1234 4 роки тому

      @@avais6712 yeah, in isometrics, there is no movement, it is static training. What he us doing is not isometrics. You're misinterpreting what I said, I regarded the fact that crossfitters tend to suffer more injuries. I did not say that only crossfitters receive injuries.

    You said that you would like some feedback. First of all, congratulations on your awesome gym. I would love to workout there!
    It would be cool to see a clip with you doing a Questions and Answers video. Also, Us fans would love to see you do another tour of your gym and asking the members who are working out at the moment what they think of the gym and what they think of you Hafthor.
    Anyhow, great video! Looking forward for the next. You have my respect!

    Great vid as usual! I would like to see some more technical info on the different more specialized lifts. You could break down the techniques one at a time. In example Atlas stone lifting 1*1. mentioning to train progressive was great, I have seen plenty of people damaging themselves by their ego lifts. Keep the vids coming big man!!

      He still has to mix it, I usually mix it after putting it in the cup, then just shake it.

    I want to see some more strongmen collaborations, because what’s better than one down to earth strongman? Two down to earth strongmen. 👍🏻

    "In Flames" should be the soundscore for this channel. It fits perfectly.

    I love the training tips and workout footage. If anything, I would love to see more collaboration videos (with Mateusz, the Stoltman Brothers, Martins, Shaw, et al) and, believe it or not, video tours of Iceland.
