Just so that it is clear, this is just the FIRST chapter from the course - which is a LONG chapter! So we've split it into 5 to make it more digestible on UA-cam.
We always try to strike a balance in that sense, to get at least SOME of the paid course tutorials online, I know that sometimes it could be confusing (I'm afraid that would alienate some of the course owners if you know what I mean, but I also hope Blender community would understand our approach and this has been pretty much always the case so far).
You're an asset to the Blender community, Gleb! Recently bought your Blender to DaVinci Resolve Course and hope people appreciate how much knowledge you are sharing for free!
Haha, these glasses have a long history) Recently we reunited with them as they traveled from Brest to Warsaw (back to me!). Haven't seen them for ages.
Daniel, you're too kind! If you enjoyed this one, we have just released a new video on the outdoor lighting basics! ua-cam.com/video/meeS7yuCaJs/v-deo.html
And we know that materials and lighting can't be fully separated, if we wanted to make sense of it. So yeah, it's likely. Depends on the perspective and from which direction to attack this topic for sure
@@GlebAlexandrov I simply adore you. Anytime I hear someone complain about Blender, I use your name as the be all end all example of how to use Blender at S rank level. :)
That means the textures have not loaded correctly. Or sometimes it can be that the HDRI didnt load right. Try changing the HDRI. If thats not it click on the object and see what they look like in shader editor.
I kinda was expecting a 4080 or a 4090, but you have 2080ti pretty nice you have a more common gpu. I always get this weird feeling when UA-camrs shows these scenes and talk about speed while running a beast of a machine. Their perspective is so skewed to most other users
Hi Gleb! Is it possible to get your mentorship for 1hr\week, for example (Eevee lighting mostly as a technical aspect, and lighting as it is with its theory)?
I only wish it was clearly stated that this tutorial will be free later, as in not thrown in at the end of the promo. 60$ is a lot of money for a lot of people.
This is only some of the course, not the entire curriculum. Plus Gleb isn't providing all of the additional assets and extras in this free UA-cam video.
I bought the course and I just want to start with I love it and it was worth every penny, but I was surprised this was given out free, I wonder how much of the course will be published free? I don't mind investing my money in good content/tutorials for a chance to make it my career but if it's given out free suddenly I feel betrayed
@@elect-190 We don't want you to feel betrayed, apologies if I hurt your feelings. We always release some part of our paid courses for free and this isn't an exception. I hope that makes sense.

Sorry to hear that you think it's unethical. We always release some part of our paid courses content for free, it's what I think is a good balance between not locking everything behind the paywall but still keeping it fair for the course owners. At least that's my understanding, I'm sorry that it sounds unfair to you.
@@GlebAlexandrov I didn't know that was the case of releasing some parts of it. I misunderstood the point you were referring to. This course is gold! Thanks.
I've been following you for years and I learned blender thanks to you. gleb. I have done some very good work in this field. But the development of artificial intelligence has destroyed my enthusiasm for working with blender. In a matter of seconds, Midjourney can do much better than I can. And even better ones will come out and develop even more. What do you think about this? I think that 3D programs such as Blender and even other software will no longer matter. The development of programs like Midjourney is actually a very good thing. For example, this will take our creativity further and make us better, and we will do what we want to do much faster. We can write a few sentences and words and print out what can be done with human hands for months in seconds. This is amazing for our technology. I guess this technology will come to a much better point in a few years. And I think working in Blender or other 3D programs is illogical now. This is the situation
By investing your time in effort in 3d, you learn so many things that are irreplaceable. You develop *taste* which is what ultimately makes you a better artist.
@@GlebAlexandrov Yes, you are right, but unfortunately my excitement is dead. When artificiality is doing so many good things, I can't be as excited about 3D as I used to be.

The light softness also depends on power realitive to the subject, not just size.
