    A friend of mine and I bought 2 2006 Transalps. I kept mine for 8 years, since new. In 2014 I replaced mine with a 2009 Varadero. Varadero is a great and amazing bike when it comes to traveling. But, for some reason I really miss my Transalp and thinking of buying one again. It was so simple to use, maintain and handle. A bike that did it all without any trouble. Could be used easily in urban, mountain and highway roads. My friend still owns his Transalp and has about 180.000km on the odometer, with proper maintenance and no problems at all! Realy enjoyed your video!👍

Thank you I love making the videos and sharing my experiences. the Transalp is great bike to maintain and as I am no mechanic I love the ease of the Transalp I have done a lot of services on mine and I find them very easy to work on. In 2023, I did 23,000km from France to Armenia and back, then Portugal and Spain. In 2024, I did 11,000km from France to Mauritania and back. 1997 Transalp 600. Bulletproof, reliable, and require a minimum of maintenance.

    Good evening thank you very much for this informative video. I was wondering if you think a 2001 transalp with some kms (30-40k) is a good alternative to newer tourers? I ask as someone who has no mechanical talents when it comes to fixing motorbikes. Thank you in advance

    • @AdvenTrisMoto
      @AdvenTrisMoto  3 місяці тому +1

      Hi there
      Thank you Personally I think an older model would benefit you. more, the reason I bought one. The older models you can easily repair them and service them without the worry of dealership services which cost a-lot of money these days, I am definitely not a mechanic in any way, but I have learnt over they year to do oil changes and repair things when I need to .... there is a lot of forums, help with step by step videos on You Tube and the internet to help uo along the way . You will also learn more about your bike.How everything works and so on ..... so yes I think an older model is worth it.

    I've bought my 2001 XL650V Transalp and I have around 2000km riden, it's my first bike and I love it a lot, but I have one problem - I don't like the vibrations it have from 3500 to 4500 rpm, and 4000 rpm is where it's the worst, ive serviced it properly, it has new tires and balanced wheels, new spark plugs, new air and oil filter and new oil, also did carbs clear and synchronizing, but I still feel bad vibrations.. It's not the wheels, because when I do 100km/h and press the clutch and let the RPM's go down to idle the bike is perfectly calm, but when I rev the engine to 4000 rpm or release the clutch and continue driving it vibrates a lot again.. I feel it in the handlebar, in the foot pegs as well as the seat and the fuel tank... My mechanic said it could possibly be something from the clutch or engine chain or the engine crankshaft, I think it can be from the engine mount or CDI module... What can you guys suggest to look for or if you know a way to reduce the vibrations so I can ride and not have numb hands after just 30-50 km... Or is this normal for this bike and you just embrace it and get used to it...

    • @AdvenTrisMoto
      @AdvenTrisMoto  11 місяців тому +1

      I had a similar experience I added bar end weights to the handlebars. I also put a small vibration square mat under the tank to stop the vibrations. I had the forks serviced and replaced the chrome tubes as well as the front wheel spokes replaced. due to the front wheel having lots of vibrations and the forks being bent. I had the bike also serviced and every nut checked and tightened. I replaced the foot pegs and fixed the fairing and tightened the plastic holders. now the vibrations are present I think it's just HONDA TRANSALP but it doesn't vibrate a lot anymore.
      Check your front wheel and forks as thats where most of the vibrations came from I know you had it Balanced but so did I. the vibration was still there until I had Forks serviced and replaced. When it's safe to do so and BE CAREFUL AS YOU MAY HAVE A SPEED WOBBLE but ride to 100 Km/H and let go of the handlebars and KEEP YOUR HANDS CLOSE TO THE HANDLEBARS if it wobbles, or drifts left or right it'll be the front where the vibration is and it transfers to the rest of the bike.
      Now My bike rides perfectly Straight from 100km/h and slows down to 50 km/H after a full Service of the front end
