I am a complete beginner and have looked at so many videos for beginners, but you have simplified it beautifully and made me think it's not quite as daunting as i thought it would be, and perhaps i could do it. thank you Kelly, if I were painting daisies in different colors I would put a darker blue on first then put lighter blue highlights on top letting some of the darker blue show in areas..think about your 3 values, dark medium and light, I hope that helps.

When you're painting with acrylics, is it the acrylic paints that you buy in a squeeze bottle (basic craft paint) or is there a better quality acrylic paint I should be using for this art project. I'm new to all this so please pardon my ignorance :-) I LOVE this video, by far the easiest to follow. You are a gifted instructor.
Patricia H - I'm not Allison, however I do paint frequently. There are several different brands out there as well as types. There are different thicknesses also. I find that I like medium bodied acrylics, because they're not as thick and expensive as heavy body, and they hold shape a little better than soft body (craft paint). I use Liquitex brand. It seems to be relatively affordable and decent quality. I buy the Basics line from Liquitex, but they also make heavy body paints if you find you prefer them. There is also Golden brand, but they are a bit more expensive. If craft paint is what is in your budget, use those! There is nothing wrong with that. It looks to me as if she is using medium body paints here, but she could be using heavy body with a bit more water. Hope this helps! 😊
Thank you so much. My friends has a hobby and she wanted something that went with her name. DottiesDaisies. So now I can paint a canvas with the blending method, and now use these daisies as inspiration. If you had a video on how you paint the stems, that would be perfect.
