Have any of these companies ever watched one of your videos? If so, and they still proceed to "bribe" you for a review, then that is a huge red flag right there. Shows complete lack of awareness.
What they do need to make Exist is another Phone like the Moqi i7s, A phone with built in controls. Everyone seemed to stop making them. I would love to have just "ONE" device in my pocket for everything.
Ok. The $5 thing on their website is weird. They say that they are doing it that way so they have some idea of how large of a first production run they need to do. The $5 reservation gets the customer a guarantied early bird price so you don't have to rush to get that price right away when the campaign starts. It also puts you in the first batch of devices that ship after manufacturing. Finally, they let you choose ONE of three $9 optional accessory add-ons. (3 port charger, stick covers, or screen protector). Again, I think it's weird too, but whatever if it means I don't need to be hitting refresh at 10AM on Tuesday like some kind of bot. I can put it in whenever.
The thing I don’t like about these game streaming devices is a lot of us don’t have access to unlimited data on our home ISP. One reason I have never used any streaming gaming service is because I don’t want to burn through my monthly limit. I jus want to be able to buy and download my games rather than stream them.
This was the reason I switched to AT&T Fiber. I used to have Comcast 250MB service but there was a 1TB Cap, AT&T it's unlimited. As soon as I got Fiber I got UA-cam TV, because I knew that due to my Family Members we never would have been able to use UA-cam TV with a capped IP. So I understand your situation.
I agree the G Cloud is better device. Also factor in, it's probably due for a Price Drop at some point, also you can buy it in stores and it has US Support. The G Cloud is the more sensible buy.
I have so many new handhelds, I tripped on one the other day and crash landed on another. Thank god it was only a gen 1 evercade that broke the fall and not my analogue pocket!!!
Why do people buy these things when the Ayn Odin Lite exists for like $200 bucks and you can do everything this or the G-Cloud can do but much, much better?
I would support these devices if they gave me a legit option to also download the games. I'm not against cloud gaming just want the choice to be there. I'm also suspicious of the shipping situation 45 day campaign and shipping in May 2023. However production starts in April it just doesn't seem like an honest company.
pretty much the same missed oportunity the gcloud had, so sad to see. I hope one company will do it right, i want a 7" snapdragon device with a great d-pad! please take my money... please! BTW. thanks for beeing honest and tell us, its kind of scary how they try to manipulate reviews :(
I love me steamdeck but I'm not crazy about the dpad, it's fine if I use something hardwired or bluetooth/2.4 but for the almost 700 I spent I can't do anything with the dpad at least the switch I can pop on a 3rd party joycon, I video on dpad modding options for the steamdeck would be awesome
It does need to exist. We need competition in this field. I have a AYN Odin Pro and I dislike the ghosting and small screen. I have a bunch of emulators on it but never pkay them because I mainly use it to use Moonlight and play games from my PC to my device. I don't need something with great native gaming, but a good streaming device with a big, nice looking screen and this is great for me 🙂
It's the same for me. Saying to just use your Phone with a Controller is also not the answer. I Do that at the moment, and the actual screen size you get with 16:9 (let alone 4:3) content is so tiny, even on bigger modern phones, because they are all at least 18:9. So effectively playing on a 5" screen is just not for me. I will have to wait and See if 7" is a good size for me, but I am quite confident that it makes a huge difference.
It looks soooo small in your hands! Like me holding an Ayn Odin lol. How tall are you!? I'll skip this, it's good for streaming and not much else, Russ for RGC did a video on it yesterday, it can't even do Dreamcast LOL! And it doesn't even have video out like the g-cloud. What sucks about streaming is that the rumble for many platforms don't work, it works on moonlight, not sure bout geforce now but no rumble with x-cloud. Just get an RP3+ for $50 less and get more power to play DC, GC, PS2, AND stream, AND has video out, but no analog shoulder buttons so it kinda sucks for racing games. Subscribed! Great content!
I love my g cloud. No regrets. Runs my emulation very well. Absolutely no problems streaming. My android games, especially now the Logitech added button mapping in the last update, works great.the abxylute looks like hot rubbish.
There isn't a huge market, and the saturation of competing consoles is heavy. This may be nice, but for streaming games, as you said..a phone will do just as well. Honestly this is just people looking to get into a "blossoming" market... however it's a superfluous market. There is no reason to spend money on something like this.
The problem with these cloud gaming handhelds was that they came out at the time when cloud gaming were already dead. They didn't exist when OnLive, Gaikai, and Stadia were still active which would had benefit those service, now we got xCloud which is part of the Xbox platform and wasn't truly cloud focus as games could be downloaded natively too, Steam Link which is just Steam's way of local streaming, GForce Now which is like xCloud, and Amazon Luna which hardly had anything original on it.
For me, this is a good device to have because of the joysticks attached to the screen. Normally I use a clip and my xbox one series x controller and via steam link, I can play any game on my pc. I want a setup that is less clunky with this device. Hopefully the dpad on the final unit isn't as bad as madlittlepixel states.
I took a look at their kickstart page and so far they're just adding in review video's that only says positive things about it and also i don't know why they would use the steam deck as a competitor for comparison when the steam deck is for native gaming not cloud gaming.
yeah lol, I mean I dont blame them for just using positive videos. But knowing what I know I wonder if they are legit positive videos or are they bought for positive reviews? I think the main Steam Deck comparison that I saw was more just to show they have a nicer screen, which no lie... it does have a nicer screen. But any other comparisons to the Steam Deck is kinda dumb lol.
@@Madlittlepixel If you look again they mention the battery on how that cloud system can last 8 hours while the steam deck can't but then again if people uses the steam deck for cloud gaming instead pretty sure the battery life would be better.
@@EcksGamer yeah I saw that battery life thing, which was what I meant by other comparisons are dumb. The Steam Deck if you are running AAA games at highest settings sure the battery life isnt great, but many things that are not as resource heavy the battery lasts a lot longer. Emulating games or playing lower demand games I have gotten 6+ hours. So I am sure doing cloud streaming would be just as good if not better, so yeah that comparison is lame that they made lol.
@@Madlittlepixel I still yet have to get a steam deck so i can play certain PC games on the go but right now i am too focus on playing with my PS2 for older games that i miss playing just curious about the wireless controller i found off of amazon if they are worth it.
Yeah i pre-order this for streaming i have a PS5 and ASUS TUF gaming laptop with 3070 so with remote play and steam link i don’t need the deck which I’m giving that to my cousin and i canceled my asus rog ally
Oh God this thing is competing against the Logitech g cloud, screw that thing. I'm not playing my games in the cloud. I'm just going to save up for a steam deck.
I'm a cloud streamer, I have gamepass and I use a laptop from 2015. I got a better usb wifi and a Wi-Fi extender, force both to 5g and it works (wonderfully?). I don't think a "cloud" handheld should be hundreds of dallors. A Microsoft branded Android like TV box is what I'm hoping for. The Microsoft computer app for gamepass is the only 1 that works.
At $199, the Ayn Odin Lite is leagues better than this. The screen is slightly smaller, and not quite as vibrant, but otherwise it is a much better value. This thing really needs to be priced at $150 to be competitive, and even then it would be outperformed by products like the Retroid Pocket 3+ for games running on the device.
But the screen is very important and Abxylute should have better ergonomics. Also, the shipping of Ayn Odin is like 80$ so the final price is closer to 300$
ah well. Like just dont say these kinds of things to me after I receive the product. Be upfront about how you expect videos to be, so I can tell you rite away that's not how I work. But now they act like it was a miscommunication... eh whatever lol.
It just a cash-in handheld to try to get people's money with not so great specs. It is basically just trying to compete with the Valve Steam Deck but with lower end motherboard and processor. Those companies are trying to take customers away from Valve.
yeah no cloud gaming for me. I like my psp, lynx, gba sp, and evercade for retro portable gaming. I have no interest in a modern handheld for cloud gaming.....

Most likely because if they have the awareness, the cost is a small gamble for an eventual bite, or so they wish lol.
