I remember Vito Bratta of White Lion talking about mapping the fretboard in the manner you are describing, and it was one of the best tools to add to my playing.
@@TimMillerGuitar Hi Tim, I have your Synergy tab book and just wanted to ask please about your solo on the title track: for the first of the three parts of your solo on Synergy, are you sweeping or hybrid picking those initial arpeggios, i.e. the ones spanning approximately 0:29 to 0:32? Thanks so much for all your beautiful playing and instruction.
Wow, "audition the notes". Such a cool way of putting it!
Thank you Tim, I actually have been doing this intuitively with the 212 arpeggios, and also doing them from the 5th string as well….
Thx a lot Tim amazing lessons i hope see you aigain in Paris

Vitto was really great!
Always go away inspired
Much appreciated Tim
Love these examples
Are you keeping the notes spacing the same on all the arpeggios or are you mixing them up in each position?
Both are possible, but in general I like to mix it up
