I don’t have this problem. When work is done I usually say to myself what you didn’t do today you can do tomorrow. Before bed I shower then do a 5 minute stretching routine while focusing on breathing and then hop on the spot for 1 minute and allow your limbs to go limp. This releases all the tension in the body. Then when I get into bed I just get into a comfortable position and focus on my breath. Long and slow breathing. I am asleep within 5 minutes. I hope this helps someone??

Very educative. I love his videos. I do research on how Buddhism disappeared in Bihar. I realized it never disappeared from Bihar. Buddhists simply failed to research Indian Buddhism. They looked at Buddhism through the sphere of their own cultures searching for only the Buddha. Buddha had a myriad of names in different villages according to his teachings there. Example. His favorite teaching was 'Lust and desire causes pain. Remove lust and desire, and pain is removed'. Translated into Bihari (where the Buddha story took place) it is DHUKH HARAN meaning to remove dukha. Three dozen villages pray to DUKH HARAN Baba. Its clear that DUKH HARAN Baba is none other than the Buddha. Problem is Buddhists are searching only for the Buddha. In the real Vaishali the Buddha begged for alms. The locals there pray to 'BHIKHAINI' Baba (Beggar Baba). Bhikhaini was mispronounced by Buddhists as Bhikshu. Who is BHIKHAINI Baba. The Buddha no doubt. But people are searching for a man called Buddha. In the real Vaishali, in Beluha the Buddha suffered a sickness and felt he had grown old. The locals pray to 'BURHA' Baba (Old Baba). Who is BURHA Baba. The Buddha no doubt. In the real Vaishali the Lichavies pressurized Buddha not to die. They trailed him to Bandagawan pressurizing him not to die. To put pressure in Hindi is DABESHWAR. Three dozen villages around the stupa where Buddha gave the Lichavies his patra, the villagers pray to Baba 'DABESHWAR NATH' meaning the man who won the pressurizing game. It was the the Buddha no doubt as he gave the Lichavies his patra and succeded in sending them back. But Buddhists are searching for the Buddha. Forgive me for commenting out of the topic. I just wanted to impart this information to you.

I suggest soaking in tub even just 10min rather than showering only.
Before that TURN OFF all your devices.
After getting out of the tub let yourself sweat a bit, drink a glass of water then go straight to bed.
Soaking in tub helps your inner temperature to rise then allows to drop after getting out, that’s when you get physically sleepy.
    Let’s use that mechanism.

    I am all for it.
But we are not all Monks and not all of us like to become one......Sweeping floors and sitting down in meditation is not why we are here in this material world.
We are here to manifest our true selves as matter in a material world, and this includes suffering, as a lesson, going into monkhood for the rest of your life, is like fleeing from these challenges.
From reading you gain knowledge from experiencing real life you get to know.
Hence, instead of trying to make a monk out of every person, it would be much more effective if a contemporary way of practicing Buddhism would be taught, meaning living it while having a job, Kids running around while paying the bills for their education etc.
Looking at the various problematic issues in Thailand with regard to suicides, drugs, alcohol abuse obese Monks, and prostitution, I do not see the effectiveness of Monkhood in daily society, as it absorbs a lot of money in the poor regions.....
On the contrary, to my opinion, it's time for a more temporary approach based on the reality of today instead of the reality of thousands of years ago. everything changes, nature too, and water flows but Buddhism remains unnaturally rigid.

“I think the best way to attract venture capital is to try and come up with a demonstration of whatever product or service it is and ideally take that as far as you can. Just see if you can sell that to real customers and start generating some momentum. The further along you can get with that, the more likely you are to get funding.” - Elon Musk

So...8 hours work, 4 hours travel time one comes home to an active, tired so not inclined to listen 4-6 year old who want your energy, attention and tests your limits of attention and understanding continously. When and how exactly does one get to shut down, relax, love oneself etc??

Surely less internet has to be incorporated. It becomes a "white noise" that stays with you throughout the day disrupting peace and even sleep

how can you "wash off" the day's experience if you still have work to do until you sleep? doing no work at night every night sounds far too unproductive.

Not that this removes any inherent truth from what this monk is saying - it is important to keep in mind that the life of a monk is not necessarily applicable to that of the average person. It's very easy to say people should be doing this and that, and this is the reason why you feel x or y - but when your life consists of essentially just existing with the title of a monk, it's very easy to just live your life in meditation.
