This is absolutely the best video I’ve seen representing my home state. Thank you for showing what a beautiful place South Jersey really is. Appreciate you for highlighting all the history and capturing the beauty we have here.
@@GrandAdventureif you’re ever in NJ again, there’s dispersed camping in the Pine Barrens- The Jersey Devil lives there! So much fun to camp in the Pines!
Cape May and Ocean City are our places to go in the summer. My family helped settle Cape May as whalers in the 1600. Thank you for showing off the jewel of South Jersey.
Thank you! Your videos of your travels are very inspiring! People like me wish they could. So very educational and beautiful, yet simple. Perfect, Sir.
I kind of like the sea side holiday touristy feeling of Wildwood. Crazy hotels like from the past, and plastic palm trees. 🌴 All in the name of fun, I love it! Cape May has gorgeous architecture. Really enjoyed seeing this video. Suzane
@@gina50gina thank you Suzane! Cheesy can often be fun, like Wildwood. Having both places next to one another yields an incredibly diverse place to visit.
The beaches look so white and powdery! Both Wildwood and Cape May look so inviting! So many Victorian style homes. That’s the thing about the East Coast: many homes well over 100 years old. The Philly sandwich looked delicious. 😋 Ram 👍🏼👍🏾
That cheesesteak absolutely rocked. Although Wildwood was fun, and Mrs GA had gone there as a teenager and was therefore looking forward to revisiting, Cape May was far more our speed. That town was one of Mrs GA's favorites all season.
That is just another beautiful area. We spent time there in fall of '22 and loved it. took the ferry and headed on down through Maryland and eventually to the outer Banks. Great place for fall RVing. continued safe travels....
Thanks, Shawn! It's a *great* place for fall RVing as the crowds are gone, and the weather is still warm while any potential heat waves are unlikely. We'll follow your 2022 plan until Maryland, then our paths will split.
Awesome video Mark! You bought back fond memories of the Jersey shore and Cape May. It's been many years since visiting these iconic cities. One of my favorite places was Seaside Heights. I think the boardwalk there is even better than the Wildwood boardwalk. My mouth is watering for some of the famous salt water taffy.
Thanks Mark! Glad to have had the opportunity to bring you back. There are so many wonderful treats along those boardwalks. We didn't make it up to Seaside Heights. Mrs GA wanted to go up to see Atlantic City, too, but I was determined to keep this one focused exclusively on the Cape May/Wildwood area.
Was happy to see a video from you in our home state of NJ. We love Cape May but even better was seeing our local farm Ort’s was a stop off. We love this part of NJ and your videography of Ort’s farm really captured it. There’s a lot more to do in this part of Nj & Pa, so next time swing by and perhaps head out to Pittsburgh which is a gem of a city and well worth a visit. Safe travels and thanks again for the footage of Ort’s Farm!
@@seanhenriques808 Thank you Sean! Folks at Ort Farms were absolutely fabulous, and we couldn't have asked for a better place to overnight. Getting late in the season we had to pick up our pace a little bit, and that allowed only one stop in New Jersey this year. But we will be back!
I look forward to your next video of Delaware. I grew up in Delaware. I am actually heading back there this week to attend a greyhound dog convention at the Rehoboth Beach convention center.
We didn't miss it, Steve, for we drove right up to the gate. But there was no way to get on base to create visuals to accompany an explanation of its importance and role as a USCG training facility.
Thanks Marc. Fantastic coverage. I was not aware of this area except in passing. I loved this split personality of the cape between the Wildwood end and the traditional Cape May end. I'm confused. At first you were at the Harvest Host campground then at regular RV Park. What was the deal? I missed that. I gather that after Delaware you are heading west again. Where are you now? Gord
Apologies, Gord, for we should've been more clear on that. We had a long, long move from SE Connecticut to southern NJ, so we broke up our drive in two. The Harvest Host was our midway stop for the night, but Ort Farms did such a great job hosting us that we felt compelled to include them -- yet there's not enough to make it a separate episode. There will be one more oceanside stop even after Delaware before we head inland. Right now we're in western NC near the Blue Ridge Mountains getting waterlogged by a stalled front and bracing for another 8-12" of rain from Helene.
@@GrandAdventure Thanks Marc... I gather that, although the distance was not that far between destinations... the traffic was terrible and very slow going. Yeah, Helene is a very fast moving storm. In just two short days it went from south of Cuba to the Florida Gulf. Helene is expected to make landfall on the panhandle this evening then move quickly up to where you are within a day and a half. You'll likely get hit by Saturday. Winds could be gusting in the 50-60 range. If you can avoid facing winds broadside, that would be best. Stay safe... Gord
@@gorrdd the distance was compounded by taking a wide swing around NYC, for obvious reasons. Actually we'll get the worst of it tonight into tomorrow morning as Helene's forward momentum is expected to increase around and after landfall as the storm gets sucked into a stalled low pressure trough over western Tennessee. Should be 8-12" of rain here, and gusts up to 40 or 45. Unlike frontal winds, the winds associated with Helene will change direction as the storm marches northward. The worst, when we're NE of the center of circulation, should be coming in from the southeast which will hit us directly from the rear. We'll be shakin' but should be fine.
@@GrandAdventure Indeed, Marc. Anything under 50 mph, you should be ok. If your RV is facing northward, it is designed to cut the wind flow for better fuel efficiency. Sounds like you have it covered buddy. Gord
No, not outrageous at all. But definitely higher than we prefer to spend, for as full-timers paying those rates on a regular basis would empty our bank account fairly quickly.
It's certainly different being back here, staying in campgrounds, etc. There's a part of me that's very much looking forward to returning to wide open spaces.
