My friends, with this video I want to introduce you to the most modern and innovative areas of Milan, that are completely redesigning the city landscape, making Milan an increasingly avant-garde metropolis in the European and international panorama.
The first one concerns the area of Garibaldi-Porta Nuova-Isola and is located in one of the most characteristic areas of Milan, not far from Brera, the artists' neighborhood and it is one of the most important and modern and innovative urban redevelopment projects all over Europe.
Gae Aulenti's Square is the central nucleus and the symbol of this extraordinary urban project that responds to precise standards of eco-sustainability, technological innovation and high-level design.
This circular square, raised above the street level, has become one of the nerve and meeting points of Milan.
Its original bench-sculpture placed in the center sees citizens and tourists gathering, observing the constant coming and going with the delicate background of the beautiful side fountains that embellish it.
An extraordinary innovation is given by the particular canopies that wind along the whole square, consisting of large windows equipped with photovoltaic cells that allow you to completely absorb the sunlight transforming it into energy to be used for adjacent buildings, among which the skyscraper inevitably stands out tallest in Italy, (m.231 and 60 m. in diameter), the iconic Unicredit Tower, visible from every part of Milan, which has become part of the panorama of the city for some years now.
Even the Solar Tree, the original lamp tree that adorns the square, is illuminated exclusively thanks to the solar energy absorbed during the day.
Shops and restaurants are present throughout the area which has become a fundamental reference point for city shopping.
But the great attraction that has now become internationally renowned is the so-called Bosco Verticale, an exceptional totally inovative residential architectural complex which was inaugurated in 2014 and has now become a model of urban design that is sustainable throughout the world, winning the "Best Urban Architecture in the World" award 2015 ".The splendid Bosco Verticale is formed by 2 residential towers of 80 and 112 m. which house 800 trees, 5,000 shrubs and 15,000 plants that already occupy spacious and elegant terraces on each floor with an integrated self-watering system.
The changing colors of all the vegetation in every season of the year are a show of incredible beauty.
This project is the result of an avant-garde concept of metropolitan reforestation of a completely unique vertical nature which aims to develop a new architecture of biodiversity.
The other area to which I have dedicated this video is City Life, not far from the previous one but less central, which has gone to occupy the huge spaces once destined for the Milanese exhibition center now moved outside the city limits.
This other exceptional urban planning project involved the redevelopment of the entire area with the involvement of prestigious stars of modern architecture such as Arata Izoaki, Daniel Libeskind and Zaha Hadid.
The project, still partially in progress, saw the birth of 3 new skyscrapers called Il Dritto, Lo Storto and Il Curvo, destined to totally change the skyline of Milan but also the creation of a huge city green area and the largest pedestrian area of the city, with large recreational areas and a large shopping district.
In short, Milan increasingly projected into the future, but always with its soul and its ancient history.

I went just once to Milan and I have good memories. I like this modern architecture 1:30 😍. I don’t remember seing so many buildings it seems that it has changed a lot or maybe I did not see it, I went there 7 years ago. Thanks for sharing.
