Hi Andrew, I just wanted to say I really enjoy watching your videos and find your reviews very useful. I'm not new to caravaning we had an Abbey Spectrum 540 special 2000 model which was a superb van. The build quality was superb and so useful as a family van. My wife and I used the fixed bed and our 2 teenage boys used the enormous singles at the front. We had it on a seasonal pitch for nearly 2 years but unfortunately had to sell it when the boys lost interest in going. My wife and I are now looking for as late as possible Lunar Ariva, hopefully a dealer special. I know you have so much genuine enthusiasm for the compact 2 berths - so do we. Keep up the good work. Regards Bob
Hi Bob - thank you so much Bob for your kind words and your info on the Abbey - great vans - Ahh the Ariva is a fave of mine - check for cracked front and rear panels and damp in washroom area - thank you for watching
@caravanindustryexpertandyjenk in June last year we were able to by a 2020 one of the last lunar did the model is the lunar quasar 574 with the grey interior it is the best we have done my dream was to have this caravan because of your video when lunar was Launching The new range. Thank you again. I just wonder how many more are out there. With this design. Many thanks, Paul.
wow how interesting I wondered where those vans went - but yours is probably the only one of its kind dont think anymore were built due to the new owner making a hash of the company - still miss the brand and the market lacks their lightweight designs too. Have you seen the video of the 50th I did if you check through my videos you will find it - but so glad to have helped.
Hi Andrew. I have been following your channel over the past few months. My wife and I are looking to change from a tent to a small caravan for next year. I have seen the alpine 2 and the discovery 4-2 in the flesh so to speak and the alpine 2 beats it easily. Especially the fully lined shower. How does this van compare or can you suggest any other vans I could look at. Many thanks
Hi Ian thanks for you message, the Alpine 2 is a cracking tourer, it has all you need really. Its one I would pick for myself ! There is the Bailey Phoenix i do a review on here. But the Alpine is the better van. If the Lunar Venus 460 2 was stil around i would also take a look at that. I do say check out dealer specials on the Alpine 2 as you do get a tad more spec for a bit more caah-I would say the Alpine 2 is on your very short list
The Caravan Expert-Andrew Jenkinson Good morning, many thanks for your quick response. I watched your video on the Venus 460/2 and was disappointed to find out about the problems with Lunar. The good news is they have been taken over so hopefully onwards and upwards. I managed to visit their website and registered. Unfortunately their website is sparse and I can’t find any dealers anywhere. I will be attending the Motorhome & Caravan show in Glasgow (February 2020) so hopefully Lunar will be present. Keep up the good work and look forward to following your reviews. Cheers
The Caravan Expert-Andrew Jenkinson. I visited Duncans and had a look at the Sprite 2 and Discovery D4-2. My only fear, as it will be my first caravan, that it might be bit too small. I did look at the the Major SB but was put off as it didn’t have a fully lined shower. I will keep looking for the “right” van. Cheers
Hi am looking for a lightweight caravan i have a vauxhall mokka petrol 1.6 2015 ppl say my car is a poor towing car is there anything you could recommend my car limit is 1200kg braked towing limit so looking for a small caravan
Yes your car is restricted a little - I presume you need a 2 berth look at the Sprite Compact I have done two reviews on it and one of the first to review it - great tourer. Check out a dealer special version for extra spec too
I got a 2016 Lunar Ariva, it's a great little van if you're on your own or there is two of you. I've got a E class estate and virtually don't know it's on the back👍
A great compact tourer its one of my faves dead easy to tow like you say and well equipped - thank you for your comment - look out for a van like the Ariva in 2022 from another brand !
Hi Andrew, how do I go about getting one of these. I've e-mailed Lunar Automotives last week with no reply, plus the phone number is unable to connect! Please help . Hilary
Hi Hilary - Ive tried to get in touch and nothing - supposed to be back the other week in factory ! Any news I will let you know - The Ariva will be around used of course but obviously not in this guise or year. Sorry cant be much help at moment but will give them another try
are you linked to lunar funny how they have been taken over and you suddenly putting videos on nobody else doing lunar reviews not having a go bought a 2014 clubman same week as they went into admiastration
Hi - No I am not linked to them but I got access to the 2020 models before anybody else plus I live close to factory and I was doing their 50th for them. There are others who are linked to manufacturers-and dont admit it! but I see what you mean - 2014 Clubmans nice vans great washrooms too. You will be seeing more reviews of other makers and classic ones to. I am a Sprite fan think they offer great value all these years on -thank you for your comments.
