Tron Legacy is now 10 years old and still seems like the most modern film.
But unfortunately, the sequel has been cancelled
@@Naerl__ no tron 3 is coming
bruh I thought it was made 2019 lmfao
Almost minimalistic redesigns and awesome photography
@@Naerl__ tron 3 is coming Jared Leto is also been casted to bein the movie
Tron: PS1
Tron Legacy: PS5
Man, you're way off. More like Atari compared to Ps4.
Yeah jajajaj
Jajaja yes bro
Tru
You're not wrong
Its almost like someone who made a movie actually respected and understood the source material, too bad that's not the norm.
LMAO true
They respected it while doing something new. It’s the perfect sequel/reboot
It's Blade Runner 2049 before that sequel even existed, both are great imo
i feel your pain, nowadays its just: DO NOTHING THAT OFFENDS WOMEN!!!
yep. joseph kosinki did a great job
Funny how Tron: Legacy literally has a entire character done with full CG, when OG Tron has those bikes made out of Basic 3D Objects.
Software really did evolve lol..
It reminds me of Halo 3 to Halo Reach. Where one weapon in Reach had more polygons than the entirety of Chief in 3.
Only his face was GC
You know the og Tron was before cgi was a thing
@@phantomwarlock5002 Tron pioneered CGI techniques. That’s the one main thing it’s probably remembered for in the film community.
Softwares as well as the devs and artists evolved as well as the techiniques
Honestly even seeing how similar they are it doesn’t ruin either film, still love both films
Honestly I think it makes the movie better, it shows how much times and effort this movie did in order to make old fans happy as well as new ones
The movie benefits from that as the son follows the father's footsteps. Both flynns do the same things more or less and even SAY some of the same lines...
Yeah, I like how Tron: Legacy does new things, whilst paying a homage to the first film
It’s the formula!
@@aliensguy4291 “That’s a big door” is the best one!
I love that someone is still posting about and comparing these films. Tron Legacy is beautiful
Yup. I watched it almost 100 times
Luckily Tron 3 Ares is beeing Produced right now. Cant wait for it :D
fr it was life changing for me and I know that sounds dramatic but chile I'm serious
@@lul448 Is there a sequel to Tron : Legacy .do reply back
@@DeepakLalchandaniProfile There is. It’s called Tron: Ares and Ares (played by Jared Leto) is going to be the new main character of the sequel.
It was confirmed from JL’s IG.
Did anybody else realize that Tron is in the left stereo channel while Legacy is in the right stereo channel, but the background music is in both?
It took the comment to point it out, but that is a very helpful move from the creator.
So Tron Legacy is basically a homage to the original film, while also serve as a sequel. Kind of like the big shell mission from MGS2.
I miss the part where that's my problem
Yes, something like Final Fantasy VII Remake too
It’s a soft reboot. MGS2 is a great game

Except in the most important way. Tron Legacy was boring and broke no new ground. It looked outdated even when it was released. The original Tron looked 100 years ahead of its time.
The more comparisons I see between the two movies the more I love them, This is Disney's most underrated and underused series that deserve to uprise(pun intended) and prove why this is a masterpiece of a series
well they finally confirmed they are making at least another.
@@RemingtonHillOfficial in 70 years
@@TheAlienGangster Lol
At least their making a Tron rollercoaster so that's cool
I'm kinda glad its underused. The less they touch Tron, the less they can vandalize it like they have their other properties.
Very well done, I didn't realize how many scenes rhymed between the two, helps me appreciate Legacy more.
Thank you! 😊
It's not rhyming, it's self plagiarism. Don't let Lucas fool you otherwise.
Exactly
@@stevenkimdmd It isn't plagiarism at all If you use what you already have. Using these scenes is really great especially for a sequel that came long after the original....
You do know what plagiarism is right?
Not so much, it makes me appreciate the original more and like the film makers of Legacy even less.
Why give credit to a newer film just for copying old stuff, and badly at that.
I like how the old grid looks like a computer, it tries to make a physical appearance of a computer and incorporate technological facts. Every program has a mind of its own, a personality and a task. It looks like you're on a computer, a microworld of sorts.
The New Grid however, is much more independent. Programs no longer have users to control them, now they are much more "human-like", being mechanics or bartenders, DJ's (even though there are DJ's in the Old Grid). It has it own look, it looks more alien and otherworldly, it doesn't look like a computer but it has it's own charm.
Maybe it doesn't look as much like a computer used to because of the layers and layers of code that has been written atop what they used to use, making the programs able to see, share, and otherwise utilize each other, like how some apps today can see other apps and directly share, while back when the original came out you would have no idea how or why a music or game program would be able to see and use an email program.
it also says something about how technology has progressed
It kinda makes sense too. Kevin created the tron system for research purposes after his experience in the encom system. The new grid feels so much more organic than the original, which I think helps sell the plausibility of the ISOs. They're an emergent form of artificial intelligence, and they come into existence inside of a much more organically designed system. I quite like it.
Thank you. A lot of people believe that Tron Legacy is not a worthy sequel, but fuck me if this doesn't prove that it is
Fully agreed
Just like reality. The grid would have graphically upgraded as PC's have over the years :)
OMG Ur Right!
I never thought of it like that
In the books it's revealed he literally ported over tron to the new system lol
Problem is the Grid hasn’t had its hardware updated in 21 years, so it’s been at the same tech level for all that time.
The Disney Castle in the beginning was so mesmerising in Tron Legacy😍🔥
The first Tron was mind-blowing for the youngsters back in the day... Revolutionary film amid other revolutionary films at that time
Hell, Legacy was mind-blowing for me when it was released (I was 12). Legacy does such a fantastic job of giving Tron the respect it deserves, and the visuals are incredibly astounding.
Tron looks like it would be the slightly dated game based off of Tron Legacy.
tron legacy is quite literally a remastered make of the game
The game had an awesome gameplay and was hard as shit.
or an indev look behind the scenes
A slightly dated game with more detail?
I shit you not, the design ethos of Tron Legacy was pathetically minimalistic compared to the original - like they just sketched outlines and then modeled them in CG.
When you think what freedom the film makers had to play with locations and outfits using modern CG I just weep for how lazy they were when making Legacy.
Legacy is a newer system.
“That’s a big door.” made me laugh so much in Tron Legacy when Sam says it esp cuz I just watched the original right before
5:45 Two legends that will be missed forever
Yea... It would of been awesome if they did one final track for TR3N
@@User_1795 They just might come to do that and still remain undone too. That’d be fuckinggggg amazingggg
Tron legacy has always been one of my favorite movies since its release. I always thought the father son dynamic was well written and executed. The actors did a fantastic job and the special effects still hold up to this day. It was only after losing my own father in 2018 unexpectedly that the movie took on a different meaning for me. And in that way the movie has been heightened even more in my book. And seeing the dynamic between the 2 boobies and how they were able to mirror father and son while also putting a fresh spin on everything and keeping a story clear and concise. Probably the best video I've seen that compares the two movies today.
💙
"You're very persistant, Tron!"
"I'm also better than you!"
The first one still stands a lot of respect in my eyes. In those old times somebody made such a huge breakthrough
Tron was just ahead of its time.
It's amazing how both movies were so ahead of their time.
Lol. Tron Legacy was 20 years behind the times.
@@RawPowerComics I'd say movie effects haven't really looked much different since Avatar 2009. That movie is what pushed a lot of technological advances in filmmaking.
I just loved to see all things from Tron 1982 in modern version in Tron Legacy especially the Bikes and the Aircrafts
Everything about Tron canon is fantastic, no matter if it was in 1982 or 2010. By the way, the animated series Tron: Uprising was absolutely amazing also. Yup, I'm a hardcore fan of the franchise. 🔘
Back in the day these effects were amazing
Such a great storyline! Tron is criminally underrated!
Tron 3 is coming with the Director Joachim Ronning ✨

I love these films so damn much. Haters can get derezzed
I re-watched Tron Legacy a week ago. Felt and looked just as amazing as it did 10 years ago. Also the soundtrack was a killer with legends sitting behind the booth. Way ahead of its time and it’ll always be one of my “whoa man” favorites. Great movie to watch on some ganj as well ;)
I absolutely adore these movies. They are imperfect, but they're also weird and inventive and fun. They have such a unique style and a quirky heart to them.
It's been gazillion years and we still haven't got a sequel for tron legacy. Tron legacy is so underrated tbh
Just shows how much love and attention to detail was in Tron Legacy
Great job! I really enjoyed this side-by-side! Both films are awesome
Thank you! 😊
not the old version
Waiting for Tron 3, i love these movies and the series
3.0,actually.

should have named it remastered....its always a master piece
10 years have passed and Flynn is still alive, hope we get to see jeff do a cameo
still waiting on more news about Tron 3
Just found out Jeff Bridges has cancer in his blood.... And this made me so nostalgic.
@@cosmoolversatil7886 noooooo. Hope and pray he gets better.
It was so ahead of it’s time when movies are made like Deadpool or the avengers, like rendering or whatever you call it, the first Tron looks like that and Legacy looks like the final product. That’s pretty awesome meaning Legacy stayed true to the original. I don’t know another movie that does that.
Disney's own Blade Runner and Blade Runner 249.
It made sense that it evolved with the times, but I would not have minded if they kept some of the 80's look like the grid and even some of the simplistic looks or at least in one scene, show its evolution overtime.
In fact it would have been nice if a part has been inserted showing the evolution over time!
@@Orbitalis When I watched the Uprising series there was a flashback (at the time when Clu tried to kill Tron if I'm correct) where the Grid looked kinda like a mix of both movies, it looked like the one from Legacy but less dark.
I saw that series a few years ago now and I don't remember that point, but I'm definitely going to look for it! 😉
Matt -I gotta check that out!
Matt - I admit all this time I have somehow missed Tron: Uprising and that it was back in 2013, but wow the style of the show is awesome
Who still remember Quora ❤
I like both films, but putting them side by side really shows the difference between older movies and the new stuff. In the original, we have a lot of red, pink, purple, orange - even tho most of this film is set in a blue digital landscape- and the actors look relatively happy, or at least confident most of the time. In the new one, the scenes are often mostly blue, green and a greenish yellow, and they're darker in general - sometimes to the point of making it impossible to see what's going on. When there _is_ plenty of light, it's often harsh and blinding. I've noticed this theme with most movies.
Probably due to the shift from fantasy intended for kids (Tron) to cyberpunk action (Tron Legacy)
I Love Tron Legacy! 🤯

I do love that tron legacy is one of the best sequels to tie in the older tron and I hope the sequel for legacy is as good with all the new tech I have a feeling this one only movies to have really been paid attention(I know there’s more)
We know one thing is for sure: it’ll be gorgeous. If there’s one thing TRON is famous for doing, it’s pushing CGI and art design to its absolute limits.
@@TheAlienGangster definitely
I love how they got Jeff Bridges to reprise his role... with the twist. Elevated the whole film
After the news of Daft Punk splitting up, you can see how much the original Tron influenced their style to create the soundtrack for Legacy
Amazing work! I’d seen the original a gazillion times in my youth, so I caught all the spoken callbacks and a number of visuals in Legacy, but this is such a beautiful tribute to both.
Every now and then, I rewatch these films, because they’re very nostalgic. They’re like a classic fantasy, which isn’t all too common anymore.
Dude the fact this video hasn’t trended yet, is beyond me, amazing job with the side-by-side ... and the fact Sam has a lot of the same mannerisms as his father, it’s stuff like this where you can really appreciate the franchise, hope the TRON 3 doesn’t suck even though the main cast isn’t rumored to be back yet :/
Same @morpheus
I literally saw the original Tron for the first time last night after my father was telling me how Legacy was the sequel. I don’t know why he waited so many years to tell me but I suppose better late than never. Ironically as I was watching the original, I was getting excited about hearing lines that were basically reused in the second. It made me really happy to see that Legacy paid homage to its origin grounds. I just had to see if anyone posted anything that compared scenes, machines and other items side by side and was over joyed to find this! Thank you so much for taking the time to make this man! It’s awesome seeing the two sit next to each other! I love how much technology has come to create the fantastic computer universe that is the Tron Franchise. ^-^
You're welcome 😊😊
FINISH THE GAME, or you will be subject to immediate- deresolution, program.
"Now that is a big door"
I love how the opening act of Legacy is essentially just Sam retracing his father's steps from the original film without really realizing it. He didn't want to be like his father but ended up being far more similar to him than he could have imagined at the time.
Also, damn that is a lot of callbacks. I totally forgot that an original lightcycle appeared in Legacy, and Kevin's identity disk projecting smaller rings to match the old disc design is kinda crazy. People give Legacy a lot of flak, but nobody can say it doesn't hold the original in absolute reverence. Hollywood needs more movies like that.
I think that Disney did a good job with legacy, it’s not only a sequel but it also captures the attention of new people and they don’t exactly need to understand the story of the first one but if you do so you’ll see more details
Emotional experience. I will sit down and rewatch this with my father. We forget sometimes, what's right in front of us. Thank you, Orbitalis.
❤
It is fucking hilarious watching Flynn tip toe across that big white office room, looks like a cartoon 😂
Cartoon lookin ass *
Seen Tron 1 and 2 in theaters and I hope I'm still here when Tron 3 will hit the theaters
Tron and Tron Legacy are masterpieces of their time. Of course you can see significant changes, but if you don't want to show technical progress in a computer, where then? Both films did a lot of work for their producers at the technical height of their time and made a great result with a good story with a lot of love.
We want Tron 3 🥺

TRON LEGACY IS THE PERFECT MOVIE TO SEE, I STILL WATCHING THE MOVIE LIKE WAS THE FIRST TIME
I love both Tron's..... Need a part 3 Now🙏
Legacy was stunning in 3D with the cinema sound system. No other word to describe it.
Trippy part is the Grid stopped evolving in '89 so who know what the digital realm would have looked like Today. Clu may have made the Grid prefect but it's also Obsolete. Sam can store the entire thing on a flash drive.
This video is genius! I didn’t really see all the similarities until this video,
even though they were somehow similar in my mind
Edit: oh man the ending (not the dog lol) gave me chills.
What a great film(s)
😊😊😊
I watched the original tron in a tron marathon recently and as a computer information systems major it helped me understand what the grid was and gave context to the series of movies of tron and made me appreciate them more
"TRON: Legacy" (2010) is one of my favorite films.
Happy 12 year anniversary to one of the most underrated films still to this day. Absolutely love Tron legacy.

Both Trons are two of the most disgustingly underrated materials ever.
WOWW i love this comparison thank you so much TRON LIVESSS
Awesome comparison thank you! Loved both films I just wish the Legacy story continued. I don't know how much time we have with Jeff Bridges.
Tron was my childhood idgaf I LOVE it and I honestly feel like it was WAYYY ahead of its time like it could be released RN and it'd honestly wouldn't look out of place from these other movies
I loved Tron Legacy it's just sad people didn't understand it fully at that time. CGI is great and the story is great.
Oh , this video is AMAZING !
Great cut and very enjoyable. Still can’t wait for Tron 3 as a live time Tron fan.
Great job, and not too hard finding those matches!!
Amazing movie and soundtrack. Love listening to it while riding my cafe racer motorcycle around town.
Im this old and didnt realize tron legacy was a sequel??? Didn't even know "Tron" freaking exist
Me: "Tron Legacy is Better than Tron"
Him: Yes,They arent released together. So will be.
It did..Once.
That was awesome. Thanks for putting that together I honestly have not watched the first movie as many times as the second one and its so cool to see how obviously as a program the world its self would not have changed to much besides stuff being moved around and at the same time the programming of the people and such had only changed a bit but still all fit into the same movie in a different way. What a cool fucking relization of all this through your editing and showing how alike the two movies where and I think it makes me love the movie even more showing how true to the original they stayed but made it at the same time its own story line that continues from the original while also paying its respects.
💙
Mad respect keep the Tron vibes alive brother.
Nice Video Tron Original VS Tron Remake Comparison.
I love these movies so much.
Great video! 👏
This is genius ! I originally saw only
Tron Legacy and today I finished Tron for the first time and it’s classic !
Good job man!
As much as I enjoyed Legacy, it still needed more Tron lines.
Orbitails, you finished the game.
Excellent work.
Thanks 😊
This video makes me so happy!!
Tron Legacy is basically Tron but it's set around Sam Flynn in the future instead of Kevin Flynn in the past.
Great video. as a fan of the original this makes me feel a little better about legacy.
They should make a game about tron not the arcade version but open world
I actually downloaded Tron Evolve, Had to spend whole day to even make it run due to disney stopped paying DRM company. Honestly, There is no game in existence like you said. Cyberpunk isn't that futuristic, It's more of 2043. I wish an indie company one day pick it and make something I always dreamt of, Or even I will make one day but yeah. For now only imagination
@@prateekpanwar646 I feel ya cyberpunk was a let down tbh
The original looks alien and spooky. It might have been slow, but they're both slow and I prefer the Moebius designs and the Syd Mead designs in the first one.
Thank you
You're welcome 😊
Even though a lot of these scenes are similar, the plot is actually quite different
I watched the first Tron before legacy
i like the first Tron its a dumbfun 80s movie but i prefer Legacy, Tron Legacy is my favourite movie in general
and i love all the callbacks to the orginal movie
plus the excellent show Tron uprising just makes Legacy even better
i would love an open world Tron game with the legacy desings
Also watch the Next day its a short film that was included with Tron Legacies dvd release it focused on what happend in the real world after Flynn disaperd
and there is a teaser for Tron Ares in it where Edward Dillinger Jr talks with his dad Dillinger Sr whos chatroom username refrences the Mcp
i cant wait for Tron Ares
My only regret is that you can't do much analogy between what's happening in the film and what it might actually translate to in actual computers in legacy, unlike the original movie
Both movies are so beautiful in their own unique way
Thats one big door..
I would not have realized these things if not for this video
all these kids who say they love Tron Legacy have NOT watched TRON 1982..... it is way better than Legacy.
Great job, I was amazed with original Tron, as it influenced my carreer, I loved it a lot and also recognize huge job Steven Linsberg did with his team, his vision was so ahead of its time... also original desing of Light Cycle bikes made by Jean Giraud are the ones that appear on Tron legacy... back 1982 was not possible to show bike driver so they had to modify the design to something more simple... nevertheless they looked amazing even on that time... both movies are a jewels on its own time. Legacy film still look very modern 10 years later, and original Tron still has a very unique look and feel... | love both movies. thank you for doing this.
Thanks to you for your feedback 😊
I Just cried for this video
