@@nunya2814 its funny you say that. I have to send it out to have it done. The car runs perfectly once it sits for a while but if you shut it off and start it again while its warm it either won't start or surges like crazy and barely runs. I'm quite sure it's the ecu based on what I've researched.
@@Anthony-rv3hr could be, theyre fairly easy to replace yourself, but sending it to a shop will find any other hidden issues if any exist inside the ecu, replaced mine, but still had issues, sent it in and they found distortion in the power supply and a few tranistors that needed replacing as well.
@@nunya2814 I didn't want to chance screwing it up and I found a place called foxresto where the guy is supposed to have original ford test equipment. Its a pita to get the ecu out too. Mine is all original and never been touched. It's not just sliding out like everyone claims on UA-cam.
@@Anthony-rv3hr foxresto good people 100%, but its not sliding out because theres most likely a strip of foam rubber thats bonded to both the top of the ecu and the bottom of the top of plastic bracket its housed in. Pull both the top and bottom 8mm bolts holding ecu in, unbolt the 10mm ecu connector from the ecu, that gives you a little more room, and carefully but forcefully pry the ecu out of that plastic casing, unless you in their area in nc youll have to pull it out to ship it to em anyway. But if your in their area thats pretty golden right there.
I wish I would’ve saw you mine. I had a 1989 5.0 and I bought it brand new. I only had 60,000 miles on it and everything inside still smell like a brand new car never drove it in the rain or on a dirt road . Super clean inside and out.I still cannot believe I sold it.
I am not a huge fan of Mustang.. but you have my undivided admiration and attention.. she's a beautiful car and I have always liked the FOX body style and this one is a #1 Stunner.. good luck with the purchase and long live it and making it complete
This brings me back. The pizza place it delivered for the owner had a 88 gt convertible with the gray interior. I was tinting his windows ever month because he would get pulled over and to avoid the ticket he would have to remove it. Good old days with the PPi and Hifonics Zuse amps and the 15 in the back.
Just showing my age. I bought a brand new 1988 Ford Mustang GT. That car was awesome for the time. I let my dad drive it and he even said, "man, that's got some power." Haha! Thanks for the video!
Never really been a huge fan of the Fox body mustang. That’s even with me owning an 81 mustang as my first car. I also had a 79 mustang with a 289 Cleveland engine. The 81 had the 4 cylinder engine in it and it had no power. Kind of funny to come full circle and now own a 21 ecoboost that makes so much more power than my 81 ever did, even more than the 5.0s of that era. It will be interesting to see what happens with this one. I know my plan now is to pay off my Ecoboost and eventually upgrade to the Mach 1.
@@jonathanberry8255 the guy I bought it from installed it. I was really pretty upset about that car. I paid for it. In my 81 my engine blew. I bought the 79 afterwards. I went to boot camp. He was going to hold onto the car till I was at my first duty station and when I came back he had gotten rid of my car. All the 79 needed was a new clutch. At the time I was pissed held some resentment for quite a while. I’m all good now though.
I was never a fan of the body style but I was a fan of its potential that is until I realized the boxy look was similar in some respects to 4th Gen Monte Carlo SS and Buick Grand Nationals which are two of my favorite muscle cars from the 80s. A fox body is just nice cheap way of having that look with some good potential.
These are going for 7.5k average. If it was a real feature 5.0 aka vanilla ice they sell for more because they only made 1500 and also 1500 yellow features like mine in 93. Also called summer editions. In 92 they made 1500 red ones with white tops and white pony wheels.
Love the fox body cars. That one needs to be brought back to original factory condition though. He was slick @3:14 pushing the top up to get it going. The top pump needs work.. @3:08 I was like "😮 it isn't going to start".
That's a good deal in ny there's fox body's that are selling for around that price that are not close to that condition happy for you brother make sure you bump some ice ice baby
Super clean. Getting hard to find them in that kinda shape. I can tell you from experience with my fox though, get a built trans if it doesnt have one. Those T5s will only last so long with added power. Aside from that, I see he's got tge right stuff on it.
It's a pretty nice car, convertibles are highly under appreciated... A touch of elegant mixed with muscle.... That was odd he brought up Casper's... Stangmode was like oh, that's my buddy... That interior in that car is what really sets it off... Over all pretty nice, ran good to .. if possible try and pick up a mass air car... Didn't get a good look at the engine bay, but seems to run flawlessly... Bet it'd be a fun car to have...
I have a 2009 Shelby GT500, but I'm a Fov Body Man till the day I die! I've had 5, and I will be getting another. Nothing sounds better than a stroked Fox with a big cam.
No one back then wanted a 93 because up until then the 5.0s had forged pistons but in 93 they went hypereutectic (or as we said back then hyperpathetic lol).
Nice! My mother had a manual 93 gt cobra convertible when i was younger, red with white interior! She let me drive it on the road when i was only 13 years old haha 👍 and my brother had a blue 91 Lx 5.0 I want one now lollll
Really beautiful fox body and yes your right this totally reminds me of vanilla ice congratulations on your purchase and how can I get some of those free tools
Was it me or did that blue Mustang with the turbo sound like something was clunking in the motor. It didn't sound like it was coming from the cam, it sounded like it was ready to send a rod through the hood
Hold up, so this is "like vanilla ice's 5.0" right? I recall his having a white Rag top, red accents on the outside and not that cool of a hood. Also I cringed when he shut the door using the glass , ugh hate when people do that
An old friend in highschool showed up to my house with a white one just like this had red interior also. It was his first build and I have to say for being 20+ years old it was smooth, sounded amazing and crisp the foxbody is my favorite mustang. But it’s sad there getting so damn expensive.
Love the ceramic coat it looks like a $10 million car! Love the fox body your ice ice baby! Hoping and praying this car lands in its namesake …….Shelby, North Carolina it would only be fitting! ❄️🥶🐍🥶❄️
Thats crazy they made soo many they should not be worth more than 10k i owned 3 when i was young bought a 88 lx 5.0 for 5 grand cash in 1994 with 50 thousand miles fun car to drive but man they made alot see them at every cruise car show ect..12 k you could get a c5 corvette.

StangMode Great Video I think that Fox body is pretty nice and I think it would be cool to see it on the channel
DOES FIVE YEARS OF FREE OIL INCLUDED
The hood is ugly. The stock hood is way better looking but everything else looks great
That’s a clean fox…headlights need to go though.👍
I was thinking the same thing, bout those headlights.
Agreed lol
headlights are trash
It's funny every one of these cars the driver seat has that mustang lean to them where they're broken LMAO
I can tell you it’s not 270hp. 230 tops.
The hood and whale tail would be the first to go along with the euro style headlights.
I totally agree. For hood either stock, 2" cowl or my favorite, the Mach 1 hood. And those headlights are trash.
I've always wanted a Vanilla Ice 5.0 clone.
The question now is, when you turn off the lights, does StangMode glow?
