  • There are lots of different ways to burnish your edges when doing leather work. Here is a quick demonstration of what I do to burnish mine. Gets them nice and glassy every time.

I did the glue mix formula and really like it! The second sanding is what I have not done and will from now on. I also found that if you wait a few minutes before rubbing it works even better.

I've never heard of Elmer's and water! I'll definitely try this. 👍

I use Martin’s Mix with an applicator. Sand to four hundred grit then burnish with canvas. For a super glass edge I resand with 600 then burnish. Like Ron’s the Martin’s doesn’t like a burnishing wheel. Canvas is much faster and leaves a better finish.

Great video. If I wanted to dye the edge...should I dye before I apply the glue solution...or do you think the dye goes last after the burnishing/sanding is done?

Yes, I meant to cover that. I dye my edge after the first sanding and using the edger.

For some reason I never get any notifications from UA-cam that you have put out a new video.

It's not enough to subscribe any more, now you have to click the bell button too and then it will notify you I believe.

So I guess that your glue mix also seals the edge? No wax needed?
