Amazing video! I like how you kept the general theme or aesthetic of Arsene without compromising too much on power or usefulness. That's my favourite way to build and play in games
hey, thanks for this video! im replaying p5r with the intent to focus more on battle, and i havent had any experience with building personas. this video is super helpful.
Fantastic video. Loved the way you concisely and clearly explained things and built the persona to be on theme instead of just the usual game breaking builds that can be done lol. I am gonna be replaying through P5R soon so would love to see more of these. Keep up the good work!
For nullifing weaknesses on low-levels I can recomend crystal of vanity (2nd palace) if you don't mind sacrificing accesory slot. Also this guide is rated a Kettle for it's usefulness.
This is a really great video. Im on my second playthrough of Royal from scratch (First playthrough since 2020) and Im high enough level to recreate this build (only difference being resist ice and bless, high counter in place of enduring soul, and triple down in place of riot gun) and its really well in my opinion. Arsene is my favorite persona and this in depth build really takes to consideration that Raoul's skill Phantom Show is a sleep skill and the skills accommodate this tech. follow up. Well done video and I hope you do more personas soon!
Hey, i've just finished up the 3rd palace in royal now and have been trying to build arsene in a similar way. This guide is super helpful! I don't really want to break the game, just keep Joker's main persona in line with the rest of the group. Gunna definitely use all these tips to build him even better, thank you! ☺️
Arsene can be build in various way: Gun, Curse, almighty even tho we are talking in the almost end game cause you need specific trait ( will of sword) and skills that comes from high lv personas (megidolaon-riot gun- one shot kill and all the boost). I honestly like arsene at the start of game but he fall off way to quickly as said in the video and you just prefer other personas with more resistance and no weaknesses.
I give you the reason that arsene unhangs very fast for things like that you should merge it at the beginning almost forced or that his skills are very meh but if you work a little I tell you that more or less between 4 and 5 palace you can get plus nesetas DLC as izanagi no okami to improve it quickly (and if you are in your first ng+ between 3 and 4 palace) but mind you will not be easy and nesetas improve for example the social link of the force for its advantages and the alarm and gallows to Boostearle but that leads me to the best of persona 5 and that is that if you try a little you can get spectacular people learning to merge and improve for your next mergers
Cornered Fang is also a good option since you get +50% damage while ambushed or baton passing with Pinch Anchor. Cornered Fang also had a critical chance of 35%. Cornered Fang combined with Adverse Resolve (which also activates with Pinch Anchor) can get you a whopping 55% critical chance. Or you can pick a physical skill with a high critical chance, high damage or both to absolutely melt enemies.
hey this was really helpful! didnt want to lose aresene to a more powerful persona because i got really attached to him :') so thank you for keeping him strong!
I've always been of the opinion that the series shoupd let the starter Persona progress like your companions. The logic seems to be, that if the starter is good the player will never fuse it away, nor collect new Personas. And my gripes about the revolving door of other Personas aside, i think this is a flawed way to design the gameplay based on the expectation and marketing they present. Arsen, for this example, could be impossible to fuse away. Or could be kept as a separate slot thats independant of the multi-persona system entirely so it doesn't feel like a dead weight slot. Alternatively everything could be as is, but he could have a custom lv1 ability that acts as a Growth 3/4. In many ways the story they tell is that your starter is always a part of the journey and will come back to resolve the character's journey. (Typically by transforming) In this way it would track that the player should have a persona like their ally's do. And even if that makes it stronger, there are many reason to use other personas regardless, as Arsen would have little diversity in attack options.
Cleave (65 power, costing 6% HP) is not the worst physical skill, that title goes to Lunge (60 power, costing 5% HP). Especially not by far since many similar skills only have 70 or 80 power. Even Double Shot (2x40 power, costing 12% HP) isn't much better for double the cost. Otherwise good job!
Honestly, try to build Arsené on gun or curse builds. There’s no point going for almighty or anything cause you have Satan, Lucifer, satanael, and Izanagi no-okami picaro (if you have dlc) for that.
I made arsène into a early game crit monkey w/ OSK and apt pupil + his natural perk adverse resolve so I can guarantee a critical w/ his trait on a baton pass of course I kept maegion to stay on theme
EDIT: My second comment on this thread explains the system and apparently the guy is right. I'll take the L on this one. You're just spouting misinformation now. You can inherit ANY skills using the Gallows system as long as the skill itself is in the sacrificed Persona. But since the process only grants you 1 random skill to be inherited, it may seem as if you can't inherit those skills because "you are not lucky enough to get it in the first process" (because it is random and luck comes into play when things are randomized).
Ok, I'm happy to take the L on this, because apparently this system is too confusing and convoluted. My previous claim was that you can inherit any skills through Gallows. While it is true to some extent, after digging through this system, there's apparently another mechanic called the "Inheritance types" saying that a certain type of skills can't be inherited to a certain type of Persona. This case, Arsene, was a Curse type Persona and apparently Physical and Gun skills can't be inherited to Curse type Personas, so Arsene can't get Riot Gun from the Gallows system. So yeah, TL;DR You are right, I take the L. Sorry about that.
I had yusuke copy all the cards and had arsene have all the skill like curse, light, wind, ice, all those good stuff and whenever I don’t have a weak skill I just switch to arsene then go back to whatever junk I was using before with 99 defense 💀
Pretty sure you can, but you'll probably need to do some more research on how to get some of the skills. P5R has a lot more system changes like for example a Fusion Alarm that changes the reward for doing the electric chair. So, they'd have to change the sources of certain items. I'd recommend to consult a fusion calculator for this, normally they have listed the electric chair rewards on each Persona listings. Just make sure you have the vanilla Persona 5 one, not royal.
I've been searching if Arsene is really worth to keep and a lot of people say he is not unless you are playing NG+, I'm currently on my first playthrough and I'm waiting to send the calling card to the boss, is it too late to build Arsene or should I wait for NG+? Because I reall like this guide
If you're talking about the first boss, I think it's not too late. Although admittedly, a starter Persona run is going to be hard since low level Persona don't really scale very well later into the game due to the EXP spike for leveling them up. I wouldn't really recommend it if this is your literal first time playing a Persona game because it avoids the intended game mechanic of Persona fusion. That being said, if this brings you joy into your gameplay, go for it.
You can get null and reflect skills for persona weaknesses after getting the strength confidant to I believe 7 if not that then 10. Otherwise spot on guide for persona building
"ashamed for using dlc persona" I mean, i didn't had a choice, they come pre-installed in xbox (i guess you can not get them by not interacting with the box, but how i would know lmao)
DLC Personas are infamous for being overpowered while costing 0 yen to get (for the first buy). I remember back then when Persona 5 was a PS4 exclusive, people actually avoid getting the DLC Personas because they thought it sullied the experience of Persona 5 in general. While I also thought they are overpowered, I'm okay with their appearance and with people using them in this game (mainly because I'm also a fan of previous Persona games as well). I'm just saying that just in case some of those people are here watching the video. But all in all, you shouldn't worry about it. :)
@@Izanagi_ Yeah I decided to avoid getting the overpowered dlc personas and only summon the ones that are on my level so it doesn't ruin the experience.

Why do you need to stick to upgrades of skills you already have? It's not like there's a stab boost like in Pokemon, so just get whatever skills you want to. There's no reason to get a better curse skill or get a better gun skill over maybe getting bless or whatever. You can literally almost make anything out of any Persona in P5R, so these videos are totally pointless, except for a couple of exceptional unique skills.
@@toxin2366, why is gun more on character than fire or ice, for example? Personas usually don't have inherent elemental affinities. Some cannot inherit certain types of skills and I think Arsene actually can't inherit bless, so maybe that was a bad example, but in general, you're just projecting your idea of "on character" onto Personas. Btw, you can do literally all of this research and more in like 1 minute if you open up a fusion calculator, so I'm still not exactly sure why you would watch this.
@@osterbuuny3083 having null ice and bless is so it doesn't get wrecked by it's weaknesses, and literally until you mentioned it I didn't even know fusion calculators existed
@@toxin2366, isn't that the exact opposite of "on character"? Keeping it on theme is looking at its innate skills and all personas have these innate design from the game (usually based on their lore). It is simply an approach to creating personas. Removing its weaknesses is a design choice that the game even created a mechanic for: lockdowns. If one prefers to just put whatever skill they want, then that is fine too. You do you.
